What's Up Wednesday

Happy Wednesday, Friends!  It's the last Wednesday of the month and actually the last Wednesday of 2020!  Today I am linking up with Sheaffer & Shay for what's up Wednesday.

hello...Monday! {Christmas Edition}

Happy Monday, Friends!  Can you believe that Christmas has come and gone?!?  It went by entirely too fast it seems.  We've had our Christmas decorations up since the beginning of November and it still seems like it was just yesterday we put them up.  I'm honestly not ready to take them down quite yet, so I think I am going to leave them up a little longer.  Today I am recapping our Christmas!

White Chicken Chili

Happy Wednesday, Friends!  I haven't shared a recipe in quite a while, and the other day I came across this recipe I think on Instagram.  I've tried a couple of white chicken chili recipes and have never really loved them, that is until I tried this recipe.  The whole family loved this, and it's a recipe I will for sure make over and over again!

Life Lately

Happy Tuesday, Friends!  I honestly don't even know the last time I posted a blog post.  This season of life has been busy.  Today I just wanted to share a little bit of life lately around here.

Friday Favorites

Happy FRIDAY friends!!  I hope you all had a great week!  It's been a long long time since I did a Friday Favorites post.  The last couple of weeks, Heather over at My Glittery Heart has been doing her Friday favs post a little different.  She added prompts, and I loved the idea of it!  I asked if I could play along with it and she gladly said yes!  So here is a little different twist on my favs this week =)

Mother's Day

I haven't posted yet about Mother's Day, so here we are.  We had a great day, it was a bit on the chilly side, but we made do.  It was a little bit different this year because of the virus, but we still had a great day!

The girls painted me these adorable bird houses.  Brian ordered them from Lowes and then picked them up in the store and let the girls do whatever they wanted for painting on them

Easy Pasta Salad & Guava Chicken Kabobs

My favorite go to thing to bring to a BBQ or get together is a pasta salad.  They are so easy, and you can create so many different variations of them.  If you search my blog you can find a couple different ones that I have posted about.  The other day I needed a quick side dish for some grilled chicken kabobs, and this was about all I had in the fridge to put a salad together.  And sometimes you don't have to be "fancy".  You can throw stuff together and have it still turn out to be delicious.  It was a big hit with the family.  And it's easy.

hello...Monday!

Where in the world did the weekend go?!?  It went by way faster than I like.  But we did have a great one, and I'm going to recap it today.  If you're joining us today, be sure to grab our graphic and linkup below =)

Home Ec

Happy Wednesday, Friends!  Do any of you remember Home Ec class?  Do they still have it where you live?  They don't offer it at the schools here, but I sure wish they did.  I remember how much fun Home Ec was when I was in school.  Since school has been out, we've been doing a lot of cooking at home, and I've been having the girls help me more and more.

I know I have mentioned this many times, but Alyx is a super super picky eater.  But one thing she absolutely loves is Banana bread.  And if you haven't tried the Magnolia Table After School Banana Bread, it's the best.  I always used to use my grandmothers recipe, which is still great, but this one, is really really good.

hello...Monday :)

Friday Favorites

Happy Friday friends.  I kind of feel odd saying happy Friday here.

This past week has been such a whirlwind of emotions.  I feel like I haven't even had a minute to sit down and process everything that has been happening here in our country, and well the world.  Schools started closing this past weekend.  My girls went to school on Monday, knowing it would be their last day for an unknown amount of time.  We've done our best explaining to both of them what's going on, and I think for the most part they both understand.  And surprisingly they've been great with this whole isolation thing.  Brian and I both have jobs that require that we have to physically be at work.  We don't get to do the "Work from Home" thing.  So also working full-time, we are now doing the home school thing.  At first I wondered how in the world we would do it, but over the last 4 days we've got ourselves into a groove, and the girls are doing awesome with it.  No "required" work has been assigned by the teachers yet, but I purchased some workbooks for both of them, Emma has her laptop at home, and I've been having her do writing prompts and watching CNN-10 daily.
They both also came home from school on Monday with a packet of stuff to read, pencils, sharpners, books and other things to keep them busy.  Our schools did amazing putting these packets together on such short notice.

The first day the weather outside was really yucky, so we weren't able to get outside and get fresh air.

Day two looked kind of like this.

Doing some work, and then we got out for a mile walk and bike ride.

Alyx's teachers have been amazing!  On this particular day her teacher messaged all of the parents and said to go outside and see if you could find any signs of spring.  So later that afternoon Alyx and I went for another walk to see what we could find.

All of our snow is completely gone, and we found some crocuses that were starting to pop up!

We have ended each day by watching her teachers, and principle reading books over Facebook.  I cannot say how much Alyx has LOVED this!!!

I hope you all have a good weekend and can make the best of it =)

hello...Monday!

Well hello!  And happy Monday!  It's been a while since I've been here on this little space of mine.  This winter has been absolutely crazy busy and I just haven't had a ton of time to sit down and blog.  I have lots to recap, but today I am recapping last week a bit.  If you have a post up today, be sure to linkup with us below :)

A Recipe {French Onion Soup}

One of my favorite soups is French Onion soup.  If we are at a restaurant and they have it on the menu, there is no need for me to look any further because that's what i'll order.  I had never made it before, because well, I always thought it was a soup that was a really really long process to make.  But it really isn't.  Brian and I both had a craving for it one afternoon, so I decided to give it a try.  This recipe is SO easy and it's delicious.

hello...Monday!

Happy Monday Friends!  I hope you all had a great weekend.  I'm sharing our weekend in

Friday Favorites

Hey hey Friday!  I actually got a post up every single day this week!  Can you beleive it!?!  Today I am sharing my favorites from the week.

Cricut

Happy Thursday!!  We are sooo close to the weekend.  I'm excited because I have the entire weekend off from work.  The weather isn't suppose to be the greatest, so it will be a good weekend to stay at home and catch up on a few things.

Just before Christmas, Brian gave me an early gift.  A cricut.  I may or may not have begged him to give it to me early so I could make some Christmassy things! ha!

I am still learning this machine, and it does so much more than I even know how to use it for.  When I first opened the box, I was super intimidated.  I thought there is no way I will figure this out.  So after watching tons and tons of YouTube videos, I finally sat down and decided to make something.

I grabbed Brian's YETI that he won at a work training a couple of weeks ago and made this decal for it.  I thought it was pretty neat, and he loved that it was the state of Maine with trees.

My next project was this sign.

I bought the frame at Hobby Lobby, and then just made the design decal on design space.
I really need to get Brian to make the frames for me.

This sign is farm from perfect.  Looking at it I can see many imperfections, but it's only the third thing I made, so I can live with that for now.

A girl I work with asked me to make a sign for her kitchen.

I think my favorite thing to make, is cups and mugs.  These are a few that I did for gifts over the Holidays.

And then this one I made to keep at work for the Christmas season.

It's been so fun learning how to use the cricut and coming up with some new ideas.  I can't wait to use it more!!!  =)

Happy Thursday friends!

Gardens Aglow

I know we are well into the New Year now, but I wanted to share a trip we took at the end of November.

A few weeks ago we decided to take a day trip to the coast of Maine to a botanical garden that transforms their gardens with Christmas lights each year.  We had never been before, and I couldn't wait for the girls to see all the lights.
