Weekend Recap

Happy Tuesday!  I hope you were all able to enjoy a long weekend =)  Yesterday I linked up with Andrea and Erika for their Let's Talk, so today I am doing a weekend recap!
We really had a great weekend.  The only thing that would have made it better is if Brian had been off from work as well.  He didn't work all weekend, but a good part of it.  So Saturday morning we got up fairly early, watched TV and enjoyed a cup or two of coffee  =)

I am so in love with the Coffee mug that Heather from My Glittery Heart made.  It came out just perfect =)
We were *finally* able to get to the Farmers Market on Saturday!  It had been soo soo long, since last Fall to be exact.  The girls love going as well.

Emma picked out a homemade whoopie pie, and Alyx got a chocolate chip cookie.

We could not have asked for better weather on Saturday.  80's and sunny!  I wish every day was like that for sure =)

Emma and I hit up Starbucks after the farmers market.

Emma had a Carmel Frapucciono and she said it tasted just like butter beer from Harry Potter at Universal Studios =)

Late Saturday afternoon we headed to my parents house, they live a little over an hour away.  They took us out for dinner and we had Lobster rolls....so so good!

One of the perks of living in Maine is fresh lobster rolls pretty much anywhere, at any restaurant.  Even at McDonalds!  =)

Sunday we went to my cousins daughters Birthday party.  The kids had so much fun playing.  They get along so well that I wish we lived closer.

Emma and Madison schemed together and decided that they really wanted to have a sleepover that night at Madisons house.  I wasn't really certain how Emma would do, she's only slept at one of her friends houses once, and I ended up having to pick her up at midnight because she was homesick.  ha!  But she did awesome!!

My cousin sent me this picture Saturday night of them getting ready to watch a movie =)

Sunday we headed home in the afternoon, and Emma stayed at my parents since she didn't have school yesterday.  Brian and I ran a ton of errands, and ended up getting sushi to go, and ate it in the car.  That was a first for sure =)

Last night we took the girls to DQ with our neighbors for some ice cream.  Alyx had her first mini blizzard and she thought it was great =)

Cotton Candy flavored =)
We had a really good long weekend, and I wish we had more weekends like this.

And don't forgot!  Heather from My Glittery Heart and I have a recipe club that we are starting. The first linkup with be 06/15!
So grab our graphic and link up with us =)

I hope you all have a great Tuesday =)

Let's Talk {Summer Plans}

Happy Monday! Today is Memorial Day, a day to remember those that gave their lives defending our country.  I hope you are all able to spend today with family and friends.

Today I am linking up with Andrea & Erika for Let's Talk =)

Today we are talking about Summer plans!!  I can tell you we honestly don't have a lot of summer plans this summer.  Usually we take a week off and go somewhere, but we are going to Florida in November/December so vacation time is being saved for that =)  But we won't have a boring summer by any means.

I see a lot of pool days in our future...

And iced coffees by the pool...

A day or two or three trips to the ocean will definitely be in our plans as well...

I am also seeing lots and lots of days at the camp and the lake...

Basically we plan to spend lots of and lots of time outdoors.  Ice cream dates and movie dates will be in order as well.

I hope you all have a great Monday!!

Friday Favorites

Happy Happy Friday!  It's so good to see Friday and the weekend almost here.  We are heading out of town this weekend to my parents house, and both girls are pretty excited to spend some time with their cousins =)  So let's get this Friday Favorites thing started =)
Linking up as always with  Narci, Andrea and Erika =)

I'm excited to share that Heather from My Glittery Heart and I are starting a new Recipe Club linkup!

The first linkup with be on Wednesday, June 15th.  We will be linking up the 3rd Wednesday of every month.  We hope you will join us!  What a great way to find some new recipes for yourself and your family =)

And speaking of Heather, I came across her blog, My Glittery Heart from reading another blog.  She has a love of glitter and owns an Etsy shop.  She creates the cutest coffee mugs!  I contacted her a couple of weeks ago and asked her to create a coffee cup for me.  I told her what I had for an idea, and she hit the nail on the head with it!!

I'm so in <3 with it.  It's my husbands police unit number with the thin blue line behind it.  Love love love!  Thank you Heather!! =)

Emma had softball the other night...imagine right?!?  They were able to practice at the high school softball field and Emma thought that was just the coolest thing ever =)

After practice she stayed over and the coach worked with her on pitching.  She really really wants to learn to pitch, so i'm thinking pitching lessons will be in order in the future.

Yesterday late afternoon we were *finally* able to get to the park!  It was a long winter with no park time.  The weather was beautiful yesterday, so off we went.

I can see many many more park evenings in our future very soon!

I made a trip into Bath & Body Works the other day, and I came out with these 3 new scents...well at least I think they are all new!

They all smell just like Summer!  The middle one, Love & Sunshine, Justine from Full Hands Full Heart recommended and it smells oh so good!

I finally broke down a few weeks ago and ordered the Urban Decay eyeshadow I have been really wanting.  And I have to say I absolutely love it!

My fav is "verve".  It's the Naked2 palette.  Do you have it?  If so what is your favorite in it?

Our tree in our front yard started to bloom a few days ago and I so wish it was in bloom all summer long.  The flowers are gorgeous on it and it smells heavenly!

We were afraid it wasn't going to bloom because the birds got to it pretty early and I was certain they had eaten all of the flower buds...but they didn't =)

I hope you all have a fabulous Friday and an amazing weekend!!  See you back here Monday!!

Also linking up with Karli and Amy for, oh hey Friday!

Also linking up with Liz, Christina, Natasha and Darci for, 5 on Friday =)

Linking up with Katie, Tiff, Della and Caitlin for, High Five for Friday =)

Also linking up with Jennie today =)

Thursday Confessions

Good Morning!  And Happy Thursday!  I am joining Leigh from Balancing by Faith today with her Thursday Confessions.  I've not done one of these yet, so let's start =)

I hate candy.  Like chewy sugary yucky candy.  However in the last year I have discovered watermelon sour patch kids, and I'm addicted to them.  Bad.  There is usually always a bag hidden in my car away from my girls...and husband.  That is the only sugary candy I will eat, however give me all the chocolate in the world!

I hate when peoples feet touch my feet.  If I am on the couch without socks on, and Emma's feet touch mine...ugh!  I can't stand the feeling of it.  And she does it just to drive me bonkers, I know it for sure.

I have in the past (once or twice, well maybe three times) changed the clock in the living room ahead by an hour because I was so exhausted and wanted to go to bed and I knew Emma would argue with me that it wasn't time yet.  So when it was actually only 7, the clock said 8.  And she didn't argue and went to bed ;)

I cannot deal with people who drag their feet.  I really want to just yell at them to pick up their feet and walk normal!  It drives me bonkers!

I have to sleep with a fan on at night.  If there is no fan, sleep just doesn't happen.  It all started when I was in college and I had roomates who were obnoxiously loud in the evenings, and it was the only way I could fall asleep.  I've even had to download a white noise app on my phone when we were in a hotel once.

I love love love watching Emma play sports, But I confess I can't handle some of the parents.  They act like these kids are playing a professional sport and forgot that they are in deed kids playing.  I've almost lost it a couple of times with certain parents, but I've kept my cool.

When I drive Emma to school I sometimes like to turn the radio up really really loud and start  and singing.  She gets really embarrassed but it's not like I'm doing it while her friends are around...just trying to make her laugh =)

That's all I have for today =)  Thanks for starting this Leigh =)

Linking up with Annie and Natalie for Thoughts for Thursday

And linking up with Michelle today =)

What I'm reminiscing about...

Emma is in 4th grade this year, and this coming fall she will be starting 5th grade.  My little girl is growing up and she's in her last year of Elementary school =(
It seems like sending her off to Kindergarten was just yesterday.

What I'm loving...

This seriously warm weather we've been having!  I hope it stays!!

What we've been up to...

Softball.  Softball, and did I mention Softball?!?  It's almost coming to and end, but we've so enjoyed this season!

What I'm dreading...

I honestly can't say I'm dreading anything.  But maybe Emma starting her last year of Elementary school this fall.

What I'm working on...

Sprucing the outside of our house up.  We planted flowers, but I have a few little projects that I want to complete in the next week or so.

What I'm excited about...

Summer!!  Lots and lots of pool evenings!  If you've read my blog long enough than you will remember last summer we spent almost every evening at the pool and it was by far one of our most memorable summers ever.

What I'm watching...

The Bachelorette started the other night, and I love it so far!  Big JoJo fan!

And of course I'm also watching my most favorite show ever...

What I'm reading...

Not a single thing at the moment!  I'm in a book rut I think :/

What I'm listening to...

Right now I'm hooked on the song "Holy" by Florida Georgia Line.  I love love love them!

What I'm doing this weekend...

We are going to my parents for the weekend, and I'm anxious to see family up there.  We also have my cousins little girls Birthday on Sunday there, so the girls are really looking forward to seeing their cousins =)

What I'm looking forward to next month...

Summer v-a-c-a-t-i-o-n!!  Emma has a bunch of summer camps she is doing this year and I am excited for her to start them.  I know she is going to have a blast!

What I'm looking forward to this summer...

Pool and lake days.  Eating popsicles outside.  Late bed times.  Eating dinner outside.  Basically everything that comes with warm weather =)

Have a great Wednesday!  And don't forgot, there are 2 posts from me today! haha =)
You can find the other one HERE.

Wednesday {Recap}

Well Hello!  Happy Wednesday!  I hope you are all having a good week so far =)  It's been a busy week and this is the first time I have been able to get a post up.  This past weekend was incredibly busy work wise, and the last couple of days I have been playing catch up on all the things that needed to get done at the house. But it's Wednesday, and the weekend is oh so close!!

So let's recap the last few days.  Friday evening, Emma and one of her teammates stood outside our local DQ raising money for their Softball league.

The team all split up and went to different locations.  Emma and Gabby got $94.00 in the 2 hours they stood here =)  Their team alone raised almost $600 in the 2 hours.  They did a good job!

Saturday and Sunday are kind of a blur to me.  Haha, So many people were off from my work, and then a couple called in sick, so my normal 10 hours turned into 14 each day.

Each day I got home at almost 8:30 at night.  By Sunday evening I was drained from getting up so early, working so late and still having to get things done at the house and get the girls ready for bed.  I have never been so glad to see Monday be here and have a day off!

So Monday morning we headed to Lowe's and Home Depot to finally get flowers to plant.  I've been holding off because of the frost we had been getting at night, but i'm thinking and hoping that's past us now ;)

Alyx loved smelling all the flowers and then she started pulling them off...whooops!!  We went home and planted and it was so nice to get it done.

Next time I'm pretty sure I will wear gloves though!  My hands and nails were a mess! haha

We ended up pulling out some concrete blocks we had and I didn't want them to just go to waste so I got on pinterest and started looking for fire pit ideas.  30 minutes later, we had a new fire pit!

Super super super easy!  And so much better than the metal fire pits that rust.
And of course we had to make a fire that night.

We invited our neighbors over to roast marshmallows, and the girls had fun playing in the yard.

We ended the evening with a beautiful sunset =)

I hope you all have a great Wednesday!  And I will see you back here tomorrow! =)
P.S. There is a second post from me today as well, and you can find that HERE. =)
