Our Weekend Recap

What a weekend we had!  We seriously had one of the best weekends in a long time!!  It was kind of busy, but there was still time to relax a bit too.

Saturday morning started off perfect by Brian coming home from work at 7am and bringing me coffee.  He knows the way to my heart! haha  =)  He headed to bed for a few hours while I hung around the house doing laundry and catching up on some of the usual "housework" stuff.  Emma and Alyx watched some tv and ate breakfast.   At 11:30 we left for Emma's basketball game.  Brian was a sport because he had worked 16 hours the day before, came home slept for about 3 hours and then went to her game with us.  He really didn't want to miss it because he hadn't been able to make it to a game or practice yet.  I love that Emma is loving sports!

That's my #11!  She along with all of her teammates did awesome!!  They played a tough team, and it was their first "away" game.  And of course she had her lucky socks on!

My niece Hanna and Alyx =)  Hannah wanted to come to Emma's game with us.  And Hannah is an excellent Basketball player!  She plays on the 5/6 travel team.  She's going to be awesome in the years to come!!

Emma making a shot!  And yes, she made this shot =)

And...they WON!!! =)

The BFF's!  Emma and Emma!

After the game we headed to my in-laws.  The NE Patriots/Ravens game.  Of course we were rooting for the Pats!  My mother in law made the biggest pot of homemade spaghetti sauce that I have ever seen.  I made a jalapeno popper dip, that by the way was amazing.  If anyone wants the recipe, let me know and i'll get it to you.  I also made a pan of Nutella brownies.  Yumm-o!  Our beloved Pats won of course! =)

Sunday morning we hung around the house in the morning.  Emma played in her room for quite a while with her new art set she got from her aunt for Christmas.

I jokingly asked Emma if she wanted to get her ears pierced.  She of course said her standard answer "No Way!"  Well, a couple of hours later she came to me and said she really wanted to and wanted to know if we could do it that day.  I told her of course!!  We headed into town a couple of hours later, and Brian and I both figured she would back out once we got there.

My twins! =)

Once at Claires the lady working told us if we came back in about an hour there would be another person there and they could do them both at the same time.  Perfect!!  So we went to lunch, at our most fav restaurant in our area.

So so good!  The picture on the left is beef wrapped asparagus with an Asian sauce.  And then obviously our sushi.

Alyx was trying to stab her puffs with the chopsticks, hehe

After lunch we headed back to the mall to Claires.  Emma was pretty nervous but kept telling us "I'm going to do this!"

This was before.  She became really really nervous when they started getting everything ready.  A tear or two may have been shed.  But they did it really really quick and when it was done she said "That didn't even hurt!!"  I was so proud of her!!  She's not exactly a dare devil at all, so this was a big step for her.  We had her pick out some really simple earrings.  They had a ton of earrings to choose from.  But where she has to keep these in for 6-8 weeks, I told her to pick something that she wouldn't get sick of.  So we went with simple cubic zirconia's.

She looks so cute in them =)  And about 20 mins after getting them done the redness completely went away and she said they didn't hurt at all.  We cleaned them before bed and she did great with them!!

Emma wanted to facetime with everyone and their brother last night to show off her earrings =)  She's pretty proud of herself, and so are we!  She was excited to go to school this morning to show her teacher.

So there you have our weekend.  Hopefully yours was just as good.  And Happy Monday!!!

Let's watch some TV

Alright, who doesn't love a good Reality tv show?!?  I honestly have to say I haven't hardly watched any tv in a really long time.  Like since before Alyx was born.  In the evenings I try to watch a bit of tv, but it doesn't always work out that way.  And last year I was getting up so early for work that I was usually in bed by 7:45-8:00.  This year I work 6am-4pm, so I'm able to stay up a bit longer!  And just in time for The Bachelor to start!  So who's watching it??

I honestly have to say i'm not sure what I think of the girls this time around.  There are some really crazy ones!  I guess my 2 favorite are Kelsey & Whitney.  They both seem pretty down to earth.  He gave out the first rose to Britt, and although I think I like her...i'm not sure.  There is something about her that i'm just not so sure of.  The coming weeks will tell all that's for sure!!  So if you're watching, I want to know what you think!!!

I just finally got caught up on Chicago PD.  Like yesterday.  And tonight the new season premiere is on!  Oh my gosh do I love this show. Like LOVE it!

And last night was the premiere of Chicago Fire.  I have not got caught up from last season yet, but I hope to soon!  I posted on Instagram that I was looking for a new show to watch on Netflix, but I think I now have my tv list full with all these new shows coming up! haha

And my go to shows, the ones that seem to be on all the time

This show amazes me!  The amount of money some people spend on a vacation home!  HA!  But I love it.  And love to dream! haha

And of course, who doesn't love House Hunters!?!

So since I didn't have much to update on, I just knew you would all want a list of some good shows! haha

Happy New Year!

2015 is here and 2014 is in the books!  Our year did not end the way we were hoping.  We all got sick.  And when I mean sick...we were really sick.  All 4 of us came down with a really really  bad stomach bug New Years Eve.  Even though it ended really horribly for us, we still had a great year.  We made lots of great memories, the kids have grown so much!  Emma turned 8 in September and we celebrated Alyx's 1st Birthday in November.  Lots of great stuff to look back on =)  So 2015, we are ready for you and ready for a lot more memories!

So lets back up to being sick.  My poor Alyx was so pitiful.  Just when we thought she was over it, she got another round.  Vomitting, fever, all that yucky stuff.

She was so cranky, and just wanted to sleep and be held.  I'm sooo glad we are over it, and back to normal!!

Saturday was the first day we were all finally feeling somewhat normal again.  I didn't let Emma go to her basketball practice Friday night, but Saturday morning she had a game.  I found a "lost" christmas gift that I had bought and gave them to her before her game...

A pair of Little Miss Matched Socks =)  And she wore them for basketball, haha

She looked pretty cute in them, and she scored 4 points for her team!  I told her it's probably because she was wearing her "lucky" socks!  Now she says she'll probably wear them every game! ha!

Yesterday Alyx's godmother, Tia, came to spend the day with us.  We really miss her because she has moved to Florida =(  We had a great day with her going to lunch and just hanging out at home and then Saturday evening we brought her to the airport to catch her flight back to Florida.

And of course Emma had to try out the massage chair at the airport =)  And she's wearing a new shirt that Tia got her from Venice, FL.

We said our "See You Laters" to Tia, and off she went.  We'll see her again in April when we head to Florida for a couple of weeks.  I know the girls are going to miss her.

Did anyone make any New Years Resolutions?  We didn't really make any, other than try to eat a little healthier.  And I also found this on Pinterest that Brian and I have started.  I think it's kind of a great idea!

I've seen the regular 52 week money challenge, but I think I like the reverse a lot better!  And each week I may add a little extra to it.  I'll let you know at the end of this year how I did!

I hope you all enjoy your weekend!!
