Friday Favorites

Happy Friday Friends!  The weekend is just about upon us!  Linking up with Narci, Andrea and Erika as always =)

Thoughts for Thursday

Something that has been on my mind a lot lately and I mean a lot is the working mom guilt.
It seems like the older the girls get, the worse it gets.  And unfortunately me staying at home with the girls just isn't an option for us.  I can't begin to tell all you stay at home moms how jealous of you I am!  Raising two girls with the jobs that my husband and I have is just plain difficult.

Happy Tuesday Friends =)

Who else has crazy busy mornings getting kids off to school and daycare??  By the time I go to bed at night I am so exhausted trying to get things together for the next morning for the girls.  During the week I am only home 2 out of the 5 mornings.  So I always try to make sure everything is ready for both girls for either my mother in law or Brian.  But there are some mornings when I just didn't get it done the night before.  I've been trying to find ways to make it easier for everyone, and then I came across a post on Instagram and it hit me.  I need to do this!

This would make things so much easier I think every morning and every evening.  I am going to find one of these 5 drawer organizers today, and every Sunday I will put outfits in each drawer for the girls.  Do any of you do this?  If you do or if you do something similar, let me know how it works for you!

hello Monday & Swap Announcement!

Hello!  Happy Monday friends =)  I hope you all had a great weekend.
Link up your Monday posts below!

We had a pretty good weekend here.  It was my weekend to work, so unfortunately we didn't really do anything fun or exciting.  Emma was "hired" by the Knights of Columbus here in our city on Saturday evening to take coats at the door for an event that they were holding there.  At the end of the night she ended up with $65.00 in tips!  I couldn't believe it!  She did well for herself and she said people kept her busy =)  She will definitely be up for doing it again!
While Emma was doing that, Alyx and I enjoyed ourselves a Sweet Frog date =0

She got her usual.  Plain cotton candy ice cream with absolutely no toppings on it.  Mine on the other hand.  Chocolate/Peanut butter froyo with nutella and peanut butter topping.  My fav for sure =)

I finally got an apple watch this weekend.  I have been wanting one for a while now, so I was pretty excited about it!

What I wasn't excited about was the fact that I charged this thing completely overnight.  Unplugged it at 5:30 before going to work Saturday morning and by 9am the battery was at 41%.  By the time I left work not only was the watch battery dead, but so was my phone.  I poled instagram to find out if this was normal or common and it didn't seem like it was, so I returned it and they were really good about giving me a new one.

I pretty much love it.  I tossed the sizes around and finally decided on the 38mm size.  The smaller one.  My wrists aren't all that big and I felt like the 42mm was just too big for me.  I did like that it had a big screen though.  So if you have any tips or tricks for me on this watch, I would LOVE to hear them!

Saturday evening Emma stayed with my inlaws, so it was just Alyx and I home.  And the dog too of course.

Alyx thought it was a great idea to sleep in my bed since Brian was working.  She and the dog were quickly moved as soon as they were both asleep ;)

Ok.  So now I have a fun Swap Announcement for all of you.  If you have read this little space of mine for anytime at all then you know that I have a huge love for nail polish.  Like HUGE.  I may or not have a nail polish problem ;)

New Year's Goals

I'm a day late at linking up with Erika and Shay, but better late than never I suppose ;)  I love this new linkup they have this year, Workin' it Wednesday.

Today or well yesterday now, we are sharing our 2017 goals.

Home goals:
*To be more organized.  Our closets need organizing in the worst way.  If you were to open up a certain cupboard in our kitchen, approximately 500 pieces of tupperware may come flying out at you.
*Laundry.  Is anyone else with me on this?  I will wash and dry clothes all.day.long, but I hate folding it.  I need to get into a folding routine.
*This year I either want to replace our living room floor or our kitchen floor.  Not sure which yet.  But one of them needs to be done.

Parenting Goals:
*More one on one time with Emma.  Alyx gets a lot of one on one because Emma is at school.  I feel like we just don't get this time with Emma and I miss it.
*Less yelling.  At the end of the day when everyone is exhausted I need to find more patience and just go with it.

Marriage Goals:
*More time for date nights.  These are soo far and few between.  We need to find more time for just Brian and I to have dinner and a movie or even just lunch together.

Work Goals:
*More patience.  I can't even begin to tell you some of the calls I take.  I feel like I am always polite on the phone, but at the end of some calls I sometimes feel like my patience almost just went out the window.  It wears on you after a while.  And this year I want to work on being more patient with people who say call 911 to find out if the town dump is open, or what time the fireworks are at, or wondering if the chief is working.  I can't make this stuff up.  Patience. Patience. Patience. Ha =)

Me Goals:
*Shopping for myself.  I tend to shop a lot for the girls, and my wardrobe is often neglected because of this.
*Read more.  And it just so happens I am co-hosing a What We're Reading linkup, so this is really great for getting me to read.
*Eating healthier.  I need to get into a routine of cooking healthier meals.

So there is just a handful of goals for 2017.  They are all do-able that's for sure!

I hope you all have a great Thursday!!

Happy Tuesday

Happy Tuesday Friends!  I feel like I have been in such a blogging rut lately.  I am desperately trying my hardest to get out of it, because blogging is something that I truly love doing.  I think between juggling work and after school activities, we've just been too busy and that leaves very little time to sit down and actually post.  I need a personal planner in my life to organize everything for me! Ha! =)
Anyway...so Emma had her second swim meet of the season last weekend.  I was excited because I was off from work and we were all able to go =)

I'm still learning all the swim lingo, but she swam in 3 heats.  She came in 1st place in 2 of the heats, the 50 free style and also the 100 free style.  The 3rd heat was a 200 relay.  She did really well in that event, but they came up a bit short.  Free style is definitely her favorite.  I'm very proud of how well not only Emma did but the entire team.  This team is kids ages 5 to 17.  And the older kids are absolutely amazing with the younger kids.  Cheering them on and helping them.  It's really great.  And can I just say for a minute how completely different we have found swim parents to be from basketball parents?!?!  We've done both, and the swim parents are so nice and I love hearing them cheer on other kids and not only theirs.  We didn't experience that with basketball which is sad.  Emma has found her sport for sure.

Last night while at swim practice I got a text from my mother in law who was watching Alyx.  All it said was "Umm Alyx is throwing up everywhere".  My poor girl.  We headed to the store after swim and loaded up on Popsicles, ginger-ale and Gatorade.  We snuggled in the recliner for a few hours and watched a couple of movies.

She looked up at me at one point and said "Momma your little girl is sick"  Talk about wanting to cry when she said that!  Ugh.  I hate when my girls aren't feeling well.  I was really worried we were going to be in for a long night.  But she did a lot better than I expected her to. We're laying low today and staying home all day.

Since Emma had a good swim meet (and she is spoiled rotten by my parents) my mom surprised her Saturday afternoon with the LL Bean duck boots she has been wanting.

I had boots like this when I was her age, and everyone hated them!  Whenever I wore them I would throw a fit because I knew people would make fun of me.  Ugh kids can be so mean.  But now they are in the in boot.  And I'm glad because I love them still and I love the ones I have too.

I hope you all have a great Tuesday! =)
