Friday Favorites

Happy Friday Friends!! The weekend is almost upon us!

As always I'm Linking up with Narci, Andrea and Erika =)

It's so funny how you can have 2 kids, and they are completely different.  Emma and Alyx are like night and day.  Emma has always been quiet and won't take anything without asking first.  And then there is Alyx.  She's not quiet.  And she doesn't tend to ask when she wants something, she just gets it.  So while I was in the shower yesterday she helped herself to a lollipop, or two, or three, or four....or well how about 9!

I laughed but also told her that she needs to ask before getting into them.  I was certain she understood what I was saying...and then this happened after dinner last night...

I hid them, and she found them!  Apparently my hiding spot wasn't good enough ;)

Emma went to my parents house on Monday morning, and Wednesday morning she and my mom left for southern Maine to spend the night and go school shopping.  They also did some sightseeing.

She looks sooo grown up here.  They visited a couple of lighthouses, and then they went to the Garmin store.  Home of the worlds largest Globe.

See Emma there?  She looks pretty tiny compared to that globe!

I came up with a new Graphic for my Hello Monday linkup.  Make sure you grab it =)

Alyx and I enjoyed running errands on Wednesday, but we definitely missed Emma!

I hope you all have a great Friday!  And an amazing weekend!!

Life Lately

Happy Thursday Friends!

Here's a little random Life Lately post for you...and let me tell you our life lately has been very boring.
Emma has been away at my parents since Monday, but she comes back tonight!  My mom took her on an overnight trip away to do some school shopping.  She facetimed with me the other night to show me all her stuff she got, and all I can say is she is growing up!  No more Carters and OshKosh for her.  She called me this morning and told me there was a Starbucks next to the hotel, and she wanted to know what I thought she might like from there.  Gosh this kid is just like me!

The other day I came across the recipe for Strawberry Soup that is served at 1900 Park Fare that is located at Disney's Grand Floridian resort.  When we were last there we fell in love with this soup, so I was excited to come across it.  We made it and it tasted just like the originial =)

Alyx's new favorite thing to say when we are getting ready to leave the house is say "Buddy want to go for a ride?"  Meaning, she's asking the dog if he wants to go with us.  So he's been tagging along when we run errands.

Alyx was a hot mess this day, and desperately needed to have something done with her hair ;)

And lastly, Brian made us the most delicious dinner last night.  Check this out.

He is an amazing cook and if he weren't a police officer I think he should have been a chef!  ha!

I hope you all have a great Thursday!!

Honest...Beauty

Happy Wednesday Friends!

I'm so excited for my husbands cousin, Daniel, that I wanted/needed to gush about him =)  Daniel is an unbelievable makeup artist and lives in NYC.  The list of clients he has makes me so unbelievably jealous.  Last week he announced that he joined with Jessica Alba and her company, Honest, and was releasing  a makeup pallette!

It's called, "Falling For you"

I cannot wait to get my hands on this!!  It was just released last week.  You can find it online at the Honest Company by clicking HERE and it is also available at Ulta.  I went to my local Ulta, and can you believe that it was sold out!!  I have ordered it, and I'll be checking the tracking information every hour.  I'm so proud of him and everything he has accomplished.
A couple of years ago he did my makeup for a wedding while he was home, and I loved it =)

If you end up buying this palette, make sure to let me know how you like it =)

In my last Ipsy bag, I received a makeup sponge, and let me tell you...it's amazing!

If you haven't tried these, do!  You'll love it =)

I hope you all have a great Wednesday!!! =)

Tuesday Talk

Happy Tuesday my Friends!  In my crazy line of work today is actually my Friday and Wednesday and Thursday are my Saturday and Sunday =)  So I am in deed glad to see Tuesday here so I have the next couple of days off.
Thank you to everyone who linked up yesterday for my hello Monday post!  It's fun getting to read new blogs.  I have a new graphic for my Hello Monday, so be sure to grab it!

And also, thank you to Emily from Simply A Rough Draft for her Meet & Greet blog post yesterday on me =)  It was fun answering all of Emily's questions.  If you missed the post you can find it HERE =)

So have any of you caught the new show on Hallmark, Chesapeake Shores?  Oh my goodness, I am in *love* with it!!

The cast is great, the setting is incredible, and I love love love that I can sit down and watch it with my 9 year old!  She has really enjoyed it so far too, and since it's a Hallmark show, I don't have to worry about the content of it.  It's on Sunday evenings if you're interested ;)

We have 8 days left of summer vacation and then school starts back up.  I can't believe how fast this summer went by.  I am by far not ready for winter to make it's arrival. But at least we will be able to enjoy fall first =)

I hope you all have a great Tuesday!  See you back here tomorrow =)

Hello Monday

Happy Monday Friends!  This is the first time in a while that I have been *happy* to see Monday upon us.  After being home since last Sunday sick, I am finally back to work and out of the house!  It's great, I kind of feel human again =)  Make sure to link up your Monday post below =)

First off today, make sure you hop on over to Emily's blog at Simply A Rough Draft.  She started this fun series, Meet & Greet Monday.  She highlights a different blogger every Monday, and today that person just so happens to me lil' ole' ME!! =)  I have absolutely loved getting to know Emily through blogging.  We were set up as partners for a blog swap several months ago and that's how we first "met'.  Her blog is hysterical and will always have you laughing.  Make sure to stop by =)

The past week since I was home, I had a lot of time on my hands  And since it's only...

95 Days until Disney =)  I finally got my butt in gear and made our resort reservations and some character dining reservations!
I had really wanted to stay where we stayed when we went last time, The Sheraton Vistana, but it wasn't available.  So I guess this will have to do

Looks pretty nice =)  It's the Marriott Cypress Harbour in Orlando.
I also made reservations for Character breakfasts at both Cape May and 1900 Park Fare.  We're getting really excited to go!

I hope you all had a great weekend, and have a great Monday!  See you back here tomorrow =)

Thursday Hodge Podge

Happy Thursday!  Thank you to everyone that linked up yesterday with Heather and I for our recipe club!  You guys rock and shared some amazing recipes.  I can't wait to try some of them very soon =)
If you want to link up with us next month, you can join us on Wednesday September 21st.  Start putting together some of those yummy fall recipes to share =)  And be sure to grab our new graphic.

I have a complete hodge podge of stuff today.  Last week Alyx was diagnosed with hand/foot/mouth disease.  When I brought her to the pediatrician I asked if she could pass it along to adults, and he said, she could but it's pretty rare.  Well, Sunday afternoon at work I started to get a sore throat and by the time I left work at 8pm I literally thought I was dying.  I got home put the girls directly to bed and went to bed myself.  Unfortunately I woke up Monday feeling even worse and then a fever set in.  By Tuesday morning I started noticing red spots all over my hands, and then on my feet and then on my face.  Off to walk in care I went for them to confirm that I as well had Hand Foot & Mouth.  They put me out of work for the remainder of the week since it's highly contagious.  The girls have been great helping around the house.  Walking has been pretty unbearable.  I can't even imagine how Alyx felt when she had this.  Hopefully it passes soon and nobody else gets it.

So last week when we went out of town for a night, I took some pictures of Emma at the ocean in the morning.  It was completely fogged over but I did get a couple of cute pictures of her.

I could live by the ocean and be very content.

We bought a couple of bird feeders for our front porch this summer, and we have become very popular with some pretty amazing birds.  It's one of Alyx's favorite things to do in the morning to go out and see "her birds"

We love our Maine Chickadees =)

We brought the girls to the lake on Tuesday morning, but I didn't get many pictures because 1: I wasn't feeling well at all and 2: That's when I noticed all the spots on me.  Or I should say Brian noticed them.  So we didn't stay too long, but Alyx LOVED playing in the lake.  She was filthy when we left because she decided to play in the mud there as well.

I hope you all have a great Thursday!!  See you back here tomorrow =)

Recipe Club {Ranch Butter Chicken}

Happy Wednesday Friends!  Today is me and Heather's Recipe Club linkup =)  I absolutely love this monthly linkup.  I h

Make sure to grab our new graphic and link up with us!

The recipe I am sharing today is the easiest thing in the world to make.  Yes, I said the easiest!  If you can't cook, but you have a crockpot...you can do this!

People, it's 3 ingredients and that is it!

All you need is Chicken Breasts, 1 envelope of Hidden Valley Ranch dip (powder) and 6 tbsp. of butter.

All I had on hand was 3 chicken breasts, but you could definitely do 4.

Add Chicken to the crockpot.

Evenly sprinkle the ranch packet over the chicken breasts, and then add tbsp. of butter to each chicken breast.

Cover and cook on high for 4ish hours, or low for 6-8 hours.  I put mine in at 9pm, and when I woke up at 4:30 it was done.
When it's done it should look similar to this.

Do not drain the juices.  Shred the chicken right into the juice.  The chicken should completely fall apart when you stick a fork into it.

And that is it!!!  Perfectly seasoned pulled chicken.  There are endless and I mean endless ways you can serve this chicken.  Serve it over rice, make them into pulled chicken tacos, you could make a chicken wrap with lettuce and tomato, a chicken burrito, a chicken quesadilla, or even top it on top of a salad.  I'm telling you, endless possibilities with this recipe!

It's probably the best chicken I have ever made, and it's a HUGE hit in our house.  Emma loves it.
Link up below with your recipe =)
Have a great day!!
