What we've been up to & Meals

Hey all!  So what have we been up to lately....

Well...chasing after this little thing!  Oh my word people...she is all over the place now!  It's crazy.  Much more busy than Emma ever was! haha  But I love it!!

We are also loving pumpkin ice cream!  We stopped at a local ice cream shop to try it, and Alyx loved it too of course!

After required a bath

She loves bathtime!!!

We have got ourselves into a good routine of Emma coming straight home from school and getting her homework done.  Every night she has a page of math, a page of spelling and they want her reading a book for at least 20 mins each night.

This past weekend was our towns festival, Riverfest.  We had a lot of fun!

Brians dad was selling baked potatoes at Riverfest for the Knights of Columbus, and Alyx wanted to help =)

Saturday evening we went out to camp for a BBQ.  It's such a pretty drive there.

Emma toasted marshmallows for s'mores!  Soo good!!

Yesterday we went apple picking...but I haven't uploaded the photos from that yet.  Soon!

And lastly, what are you all cooking for meals lately??  I'm in a meal funk...bad!!!  I've posted about this before and have got some really awesome meal ideas...so i'm doing it again!  I like simple, easy but really yummy!

Alyx Grace *10 Months*

10 Months.  Sigh.  Alyx is 10 months old.  Where did the last 10 months go?!?  Soon we will be preparing for her 1st birthday!
Anyway...here is her 10 month stats!

Weight: 18 pounds!
Length:  I'm not certain but I think around 26-27 inches.
Clothing:  Some 9 months, but a lot of 12 month clothing now
Diapers: Size 3
Sleeping:  Still sleeping good.  She's had a cold and has woken up a few times lately in the middle of the night.  But for the most part she sleeps all night still.
Feedings: 8 oz bottles, and eating everything she can get her hands on!

Crawling:  ALL OVER THE PLACE!!!  We officially have a crawler, and she's fast! LOL

And can I just say it's getting harder and harder to get this girl to cooperate with taking these monthly pictures!  Uggh.  She just wants to crawl everywhere...and not look at the camera!  Haha

Happy 10 months miss alyx =)

P.S. Be sure to check out her 9 month post =)

Alyx Grace *9 Months*

I'm a little behind posting my monthly updates of Miss Alyx so here is her 9 month post =)

She wasn't exactly in the smiling mood this day! ha! =)

Weight: 17 pounds
Length: I'm thinking right around 26 inches

Clothing: 6-9 months
Diapers: Size 3 still, and still loving the pampers swadlers
Sleeping: All night still!  I put her down around 8 and she sleeps until about 7 the next morning

Crawling: Soooo very close!!

Happy 9 Months Miss Alyx!!! =)
P.S. Stay Tuned for her 10 Month Post =)

Random Post

I mentioned a couple of weeks ago now that Emma started field hockey.  First time she didn't care for it at all.  Second time, she really liked it!

We haven't purchased a stick yet for her, right now she is using the Rec Centers stick.  I figured before I go spend a ton of money on one, I better see if she likes it first!  Monday she has her first game...i'm anxious to see how all the kids do!!

Last night I took Emma to BAM to get a few books.  Oh my word she is obsessed with the Magic Tree House books!  She got a gift card for her birthday, and you know it was burning a hole in her pocket!  She picked out 3 great books, and then we went to Sweet Frog!

We <3 SweetFrog!!!  And my oh my how my Friday nights have changed!!
Have a great weekend all!  And be sure to check out my previous post about Emma's Birthday!

Emma's 8th Birthday party!

I'm not sure how this happened, but my first born baby turned 8 years old this past Tuesday.  It has gone by way too fast for me.  Emma is the sweetest little girl.  She is full of energy and spunk!  When I asked her what kind of a birthday she wanted, she was all over the place with her ideas.  And then Frozen came out!  So a Frozen birthday she had =)

There was so much more I could have done, but I think it turned out pretty cute.  We had cotton candy, cupcakes, cake and ice cream.  And of course, blue frozen punch.

I thought her cake and cupcakes came out adorable!

She got lots of nice gifts!!

So what did Brian and I get Emma???

Looks like an iPhone, but it's an iPod.  She has been wanting one for quite a while now, and we finally broke down and got her one for her birthday.  I kinda like her having it though because now when she is at my parents for a day or 2 we can facetime with each other.  And she has all her music she loves on there.

Happy Birthday Miss Emma!!!!

Sports, Park & Coffee...Yeah Random!

The weekend is almost here guys!!  We have a busy weekend ahead of us.  Emma's best friends birthday party is Saturday, and then Sunday we are having Emma's birthday party!  I can't believe my little girl is going to be 8 years old next week.  How did this happen?!?!  Crazy!!

So what have we been up to lately?  Well...Alyx is back on her nebulizer again.  Ugh.  She can't get rid of this darn crud.  She takes the nebulizer so good.

Monday Emma started Field Hockey!

Field Hockey is kind of like Ice Hockey, but on grass.  And it's mainly only girls that play.

Alyx enjoyed watching her big sister play!

So the census with Emma and Field Hockey after the first day?  She didn't like it =(  I want her to continue with it, only because it was the first day and all.  And they really didn't get into playing a whole lot.  I think the more she actually plays she will like it.  And it's only once a week on Monday evenings.  So we'll keep our fingers crossed that she will have more fun!!

Last night we spent the evening at the park.  Imagine right?!?  Haha  It was a really nice night, not hot but a little chill in the air.  I think fall is quickly on it's way to our area.

Me and my girls <3

Emma is still really liking school this year and really liking her teacher.  She has also found a love for reading in just over a week. She has been reading some of the Magic Tree House books.  They are chapter books, and last night she read straight for over an hour.  She just absolutely loves them!

We had a rough night last night.  Alyx ended up waking up at 1am, and did not want to fall back asleep.  What stinks is I have to get up at 3:30am to get ready for work.  So we sat in the living room and watched tv.  She was quite fussy so i'm thinking maybe teething?  So as soon as I got to work it was time for this...

There will be lots and lots of coffee consumed today!!

We love the Park

The weekend has yet again come to an end...that's ok though with me since I have the next couple of days off!  Our weekend wasn't too bad, but Brian and I both had to work.  Saturday evening rained, but last night was a beautiful what felt like fall evening.  I brought the girls to the park since those days are quickly coming to an end.

Alyx loves to swing.  I mean LOVES to swing!  The smiles and giggles out of this girl makes my heart smile =)  When I was watching these 2 last night, I kept thinking to myself, next summer is going to be totally different.  Alyx is going to be running all over the place.  So for now, i'm enjoying just pushing her in the swing =)

I love love this little girl to pieces.  She has grown into the sweetest, kindest little lady.  She has a heart of gold, Miss Emma.
We have lucked out with the park this year, it seems like we are the only ones ever there in the evenings!
This face cracks me up!!!

Anddd...if you look closely you can see those 2 bottom teeth coming in!!  My baby is growing too fast!!!

Tonight Emma has her first night of Field Hockey!  I am hoping and praying she loves it!!

Happy Monday all!! =)

Life Lately

We got our first week back to school under our belt!  Emma loves it so far, and really likes her teacher.  No homework yet this week for her, but i'm sure that will start at the beginning of this coming week =)

I may take a picture every day before school...and then again I may not! ha!  It will probably go just as well as my failed 365 photos!

After I dropped Emma off at school on Thursday I came home, and sat with Alyx (who doesn't stay still very long anymore) I looked at her and asked her what she thought we should do for the day.  When I told her she wasn't going to daycare that day, this is the look I got.

I totally lost it laughing, and I actually got a picture of it!  And of course I sent it to her babysitter and said this is the look I get when I tell her she's not coming to your house for the day =)  She loved it!

That night we bbq'd outside, our potatoes were a total fail, they didn't cook long enough, but the weather was goregous!

Thankfully the corn and meat was cooked good!

Since Alyx is all over the place crawling now, this is how I get my showers in, in the mornings.

Exersaucer + Sesame Street = 30 mins of her staying still while I get ready! ha!

And my mornings just got a little better....

I have a friend who has a friend who has a friend...you get the picture...anyway they were able to get me the DD pumpkin spice for my coffee =)  This should last a long time!

Monday Emma starts Field Hockey!!  I'm super excited for her, I have been after her to try a new fall sport and she really didn't want to do anything I mentioned.  And then field hockey came up, and she was excited to give that a try!  I'm hoping she loves it =)

Hope you all have a great weekend!

First day of 3rd Grade

I'm honestly not sure where the time has gone, but I have a 3rd grader now.  Yup, Emma started 3rd grade yesterday.  She has always been really good about going back to school after summer vacation, but Monday night was filled with a lot of fear and nervousness.  I think a lot of that had to do with the fact that 3rd grade is upstairs in the school, they have a different playground than what Emma had been used to...and the biggest thing she was upset about....They do lunch recess BEFORE lunch!  LOL  =)  She woke up yesterday morning, excited but still nervous.  I made her favorite breakfast, chocolate chip pancakes, and then she got ready to head out to school!

My little girl has grown so much over the summer!  She's definitely gotten tall!

We picked her up from school at 2:30, and she had a great day!  She loved her new teacher, who is completely new to the school this year and it's her first year teaching.  I think i'm really going to like her too, and I love that she keeps a classroom blog, so I get to see what they are up to throughout the day and see pictures =)

Since she had a great day, we treated Em to Sweet Frog =)

Emma always chooses the most disguising combinations of frozen yogurts and toppings! But she seems to love it!

Backing up to Sunday.   We did our annual lobster dinner at my inlaws.  Our family loves lobster for sure.  All the food was yumm-o!

There were over 20 lobsters and I think 10 pounds of clams =)

Alyx was very interested in them, not afraid at all!  And don't worry the elastics were still on the claws so it couldn't snap her!
Earlier in the day Emma went swimming in the lake.  She is such a fish!  She could swim all day everyday!

I'm sad that summer vacation is officially over, but we really did have a great summer!
