What's up Wednesday

Happy Wednesday Friends!  

Today I am joining Shay, Mel and Sheaffer for What's up Wednesday!


What We're Eating This Week:

No specific meal plan.  This time of the year is crazy with not getting out of work until 4:00, driving home, having to be at the softball field at 5:30, and then not getting home until close to 8:30.  We tend to grab sandwiches and eat at the ballpark!

What I'm Reminiscing About:

You guys.  My baby girl has just about 2 weeks left of her Elementary School years.  This coming school year she is going to be in Middle School =(  Seriously where have the years gone?!?!


 It honestly seems like I just dropped her off for the first time for her first day of Pre-K.  Insert crying here!!

 What I'm Loving:

That it's finally beginning to be like Summer here!  We still have had some pretty chilly days...but I think we are finally heading in the right direction!!

What I'm Working On:

I really can't think of anything that I am currently working on!

What I'm Excited About: 
I may have some exciting news to come in the next couple of weeks, but right now we are just keeping our fingers crossed and saying a couple of prayers!  Hopefully I can share more soon!
 
 What I'm Watching/Reading:

Pretty much every night we are watching our favorite Baseball team!


If they are playing a game, you can bet we are watching!!

What I'm Listening To:

Currently.  The Red Sox/White Sox game.  And our beloved Red Sox are winning =)

What I'm Doing This Weekend:

Unfortunately working.  Emma has a softball game Saturday morning and then both girls are going to my parents for the weekend.  They are both super excited...and well who am I kidding I might be a bit excited to! ha! =)

What I'm Looking Forward to next Month:

Brian and I will be celebrating our 10th Wedding Anniversary next month =)  The last 10 years have flown right by!!

hello Monday

Happy Monday Friends! =)  I hope you will join myself and Heather and link up your weekend post below =)  

We had such a great weekend!  And I actually took a bunch of photos this weekend which is a huge plus! ha!  

Friday Emma had "Step Up Day".  Basically it's when the entire 5th grade class goes to the Middle School.  They meet all the teachers, and they are given their home room teacher and basically just learn what Middle School is going to be like.  

 

How in the world is Emma almost in Middle School?!?!
How did this happen??  I'm definately cherishing the last two weeks of Elementary school!

Friday evening we stayed in and made homemade Steak and Cheese subs.  They were delish!  And then we watched the Red Sox game of course.


And it was a Win! Friday night Brian had to work the midnight shift.

Saturday my mom came down for a few hours.  We did some shopping and had lunch.


We went to Buffalo Wild Wings for lunch.  The waitress forgot to put Brian and Alyx's order in and they literally waited 45 minutes after we got our food before theirs even got to the table.  Our waitress was very apologetic and actually took their meals off our bill.  It stinks when stuff like that happens, but they came good for it which was really nice!

After there my mom and I headed over to Hobby Lobby.  I have to tell you.  I was super confused.  It's May and this is what was up in their store.



I don't get why they have their Fall and Christmas stuff up!  People, I love both times of the year but it's TOO Early!!!

Saturday evening we didn't do a whole lot.  I made a yummy cake, which I will share the recipe soon!

Sunday morning was so nice!


We sat outside and enjoyed our coffee.  The birds were out and the sun was shinning!  Gorgeous morning!

We went to the mall because Emma desperately needed some new shorts.  And because Emma got a ton of new clothes, Emma thought we should bring Alyx to Build-a-Bear.


Of course Alyx chose Princess Poppy!

We came home and did a bit of yard work.  We have been doing a lot of work on our flower beds and I am finally really happy with them.


Emma loves driving this thing!

Brian went to a local hardware store and bought me a new swing for our back patio.  So after we were done Emma did some selfies with us =)



We celebrated Brians dads birthday Sunday evening with a yummy dinner and cake. 
After we headed to the park for some playtime with friends.





After we played in the park Emma played some Softball with the guys/girls from the police and fire department.



They were getting ready for the Memorial Day BBQ and it smelled so good!!  I took the girls home and Brian stayed and hung out with them.  

Unfortunately in my line of work, I don't get today off from work.  So I hope all of you are having a great Memorial Day and eating lots of yummy BBQ!

Kids Summer Reading Club

Good Morning Friends =)  If you are joining us this summer with our Kids Summer Reading Club, today is the day to link up =)

Last month we chose the Babysitters Club book, Kristy's Great Idea.


Emma absolutely *loved* this book.  She seriously had it read in less than 2 days.  She said she just had a hard time putting it down.  And well that is completely fine with me!

We have a list of questions for the girls to answer. So here are Emma's answers!


1.  Kristy loved to babysit so she thought she would start a club!
2.  It kept a record of who did what and how much money they made. 
3. Kristy's job.  I want to babysit little kids when I get older!
4. The sleepover!  They had a lot of fun, and sleepovers are always fun.
5. I would like to start a dog walking club with my friends.  It would be fun to play with dogs and walk them.
6. When they got to a babysitting job and had to babysit dogs too.  They were not expecting the dogs to be there too and it was a lot of work!

So there you have Emma's answers!  I was hoping she would go into detail a bit more, but oh well!

hello Monday

Hello!  Happy Monday!  I hope you will join myself and Heather, grab our graphic and link up today with your Monday post.  Anything goes!  

We had a really good weekend, despite having to work.  The weather was absolutely beautiful all weekend, and it's SO nice to be able to spend time outside finally.  Not only did we have a really long winter with lots of snow, our spring up until this point had been really rainy.  So the sunshine is very much welcome!  

Friday I took the day off from work.  We had a really great day.  I dropped Emma off at school and then came back home and Alyx played outside while Brian and I did some yard work. 


She's got the craziest hair!  Mind you, she had just woken up too ;)


I decided to go pick up coffee for Brian and I, and when I got to the drive-thru I looked behind me and saw this...





Sound asleep =)

While Brian mowed our lawn I planted some flowers.  The only ones I got planted are the ones in my old whiskey barrell.


I'm anxious for it to fill in.  Normally I have really only done "green" plants in here, but this year I decided to add some color.  Now I need to mulch all around my flower gardens.

Friday afternoon Emma was a part of the Maine All State Elementary Centennial Choir.  It was a huge honor for her to be asked.  There were approximately 100 kids who were chosen all over the state. 

 



These kids sang absolutely beautiful.  So much talent in this room.  


My parents came down for it, and my mom brought me a TON of fiddleheads =)


They are so delicious.  It's a vegetable that I am pretty sure is only found in Maine and you can only find them for about 2 weeks and then they are gone.  I can't wait to dig into these!

Saturday I had to work.  Emma had a softball game.  She was the opening pitcher.  

 

Every game she does better and better.  I'm proud of her for accomplishments in this sport.  
I'm also sad that I had to miss one of her games.  Definately a downfall of having work every other weekend.  They didn't win their game, but they did well.

Sunday, I have no pictures for.  I worked until 4pm.  I came home and grabbed Emma and brought her to our local Police Department so she could sell them some Candy Bars for her softball fundraiser.  She made out well there!  
The girls played outside until it was time to come in to get ready for bed.  They love being outside!
