Thursday

Well Happy Thursday friends!  This week has gone by pretty fast if I do say so myself ;)  We've had a busy week, but the weekend is oh so close and we don't have one.single.plan this weekend!  Those are the kind of weekends I enjoy the most =)
As always, I am linking up today with Annie and Natalie for, Thoughts for Thursday.

Alyx and I had a super fun day of shopping the other day, and she was so very excited to have a day to spend with me =)

We had a bunch of errands to run, and she was a trooper going to different stores =)

So I have a slight obsession with the HGTV show, Fixer Upper.  Ok, who am I kidding I am obsessed with it!  I've watched all of season ones re-runs on Netflix oh about 4 times each, and I am excited that April 1st season 2 will be out!  Plus of course I watch all the new ones that are on.  And of course watching them makes me want to re-do every single aspect of our home.  On a whim Tuesday afternoon I decided I wanted to paint the living room.  So yup, that's what we did.  I haven't hung all the pictures back on the walls, so pictures of it will have to wait.  But I will say, that I am not in love with the color of it.  I wanted a greyish/tanish color, I found a color by Behr called Flint Smoke, and once we got it on the walls it is sooo blue.  Not at all what I was looking for.  But i've decided it's just paint and if I find that I absolutely hate it, in a couple of months we can change it.  It's not permanent which is nice!

I go through these spurts with Pinterest where I am pinning every single thing I see, and then I go a couple of weeks without even going on Pinterest.  The other day I came across a pin of a picture frame and I knew I instantly had to make it!  So off to Hobby Lobby I went to get the supplies.  As soon as I got home I got started on it.

I am absolutely in love with how it turned out!  I purchased just a wooden distressed frame, and a small can of chalk paint.  I quickly painted it because I didn't want it to look perfect.  I was going for a rustic look.  I got some wire, and stapled it to the back, and I found these super cute small clothes pins and I attached these small Instagram photos to it.  Sooo easy to make!  I ordered the pictures from Origrami, and they are really good quality, and they come in super cute packaging =)

Yesterday was Brian's Birthday =)  We didn't do a whole lot, but we did go to dinner with the girls to a Jappense Steakhouse.  It's always good, and Emma loves the show they put on =)

Our Chef was excellent and he made it a lot of fun for the girls =)

I hope you all have a great Thursday, and see you back here tomorrow for Friday Favorites =)

I'm also linking up today with the awesome Michelle for Party at My Place =)

And linking up with Amanda today =)

A Weekend & Easter Recap

Happy Monday!!  I hope you all had a great weekend and and also a great Easter!!  We had a really great weekend, so let's recap!

Friday evening was spent at my in-laws for pizza to celebrate my niece Hannah's 13th Birthday!  My inlaws have a huge finished basement so they offered to host a sleepover for my niece and 10 of her friends.  I never knew just how loud and crazy eleven 13 year olds could be! ha!  They had fun though =)  Saturday I worked, but Saturday we went to Sweet Frog with my girls and my nieces and inlaws.  Those girls love them some Sweet Frog that's for sure.  And who am I kidding?!  I do too!

Sunday morning the girls were up bright and early at 7am.  Alyx woke up saying "The Easter Bunny Come?" It was too cute!!

They LOVED their baskets!

After opening some goodies they colored for a bit at their table =)

And it was nearly impossible yesterday to get a good picture of both of them.  They were both in a crazy mood!!

Ohhh these two girls.  I love them with all my heart but they were crazy crazy yesterday! haha =)

My parents came yesterday, and my mom brought Easter dinner with her!  She made a homemade spaghetti sauce and rolls.  And I made up a quick Caesar salad,  She also baked Brian and I a Birthday cake =)

My mom makes the best homemade chocolate fudge cakes!

I hope you all had a great weekend and were able to enjoy your Easter!!

Linking up today with Biana and Meghan for Weekending =)

Friday Favorites

Well Helloooo Friday!   It is for certain Friday, but it's my Monday at work today.  I work the weekend, but thankfully I was able to take Easter Sunday off =)
Today I am linking up as always with Narci, Andrea and Erika for Friday Favorites =)

Ha!! It's my Birthday today!  I turn 34 years old.  Yes.  I'm getting old! ha!  No big plans for today or tonight, but next Tuesday is Brian's Birthday so we are planning a Birthday dinner then for both of us =)

My favorite moment from this past week was getting away for the weekend with Brian.  We had so much fun.  It's nice to have some time to ourselves every now and then.

I had to run to the grocery store yesterday and Alyx was in an amazingly good mood!

We are thankful for these little shopping trips where little Miss is actually good in the store! ha! =)

I love Olive Garden, but we don't go that often.  One of my most favorite things to order is the soup and salad combo.  I came across a recipe on Pintrest the other day for a copy cat version of their Chicken and Gnocci soup.  So I made it!

It was delish!  And easy easy to make.  You can find the recipe HERE.  Everyone in the house loved it too =)

One of my favorite bloggers, Stephanie from Wife Mommy Me, is hosting a really fun Sping Snail Mail Exchange, and I wanted to share it with you guys!

It's simple, who doesn't love getting little pieces of mail?  I can tell you I do!  I love checking the mail and the concept of this is fun, you send 3 letters/notes and you get 3 in return.  You are paired with another blogger, and how fun to get to know someone!  If you are interested stop by Stephanie's Blog, and check it out!!

I hope you all have a great Friday and an awesome weekend!  And enjoy your Easter =)

Also linking up today with Karli and Amy for, oh hey Friday!

Also linking up with Liz, Christina, Natasha, and Darci for, 5 on Friday =)

And lastly, linking up with Katie, Tiff, Della and Caitlin for, High Five For Friday! =)

Thoughts for Thursday {Ten Dollar Target Haul}

A couple of my favorite bloggers host a $10.00 Target Haul linkup, and I have loved seeing what these ladies can get for $10.00.  When I was reading through blogs the other day, I thought, why am I just reading these and not participating in this linkup?!?  I mean, I pretty much love every.single.thing about Target. I could wander around there all day long and be as happy and content as ever!  So off to Target I went =)

My target just recently re-did their Dollar Spot, and I love it!  Before I felt like everything was just thrown into a little area, and now it's nicely organized and much easier to look and find things.  So of course I hit up the dollar spot first!

The first thing I spotted was their Easter stuff. I don't have one single Easter decoration, and my eyes instantly went to this adorable wooden sign.

I have the perfect little spot on my mantle for this cute little thing =)

I am always in need of note cards, whether it be for a friend or one of Emma's teachers or just a little thank you note.  And I love Targets dollar spot for them.

And aren't these note cards cute!  I love the ones with the flamingos on them!

So the dollar spot was a bit picked over on this trip, so I headed to the clearance section of our Target.  There was so much in the clearance section this time, but if you know me then you know I am huge sucker for nail polish.  Especially OPI and Essie.  But I refuse to pay full price for them.  Well lookie what I was able to find in the clearance area...

Not a bad price at $4.24!  The color is a bit fallish/wintery but I really liked it.

So how did I do?  Was I able to stay under the $10.00 limit??

I was close!  I went over by .80 cents =)  I consider that pretty good!  Thanks for hosting this fun linkup ladies!!

Wednesday.

Well Good Morning!  And Happy Wednesday!  It's my day off, so i'm glad to see Wednesday here =)  So it's officially spring!!  And while we have had a very very mild winter here in Maine compared to years past, our first official full day of Spring on Monday brought us s-n-o-w.  Yuck!  About 8 inches total.  I'm going to hope that it quickly melts =)

This month is Birthday month in our family!  The amount of March Birthdays we have is insane!  Sunday afternoon we celebrated my nephews 2nd Birthday, his Birthday is actually this Friday the same day as mine =)   Monday was my aunt and cousins Birthday, and tomorrow is my nieces 13th Birthday, and the 29th is Brian's birthday.  I told you, crazy Birthday month!  So with that said...I haven't even thought about what I am getting Brian.  We really don't normally do gifts for each other on our Birthdays, but this year I really would like to get him something.  Nothing big, but a little something.  I did order this sticker for his YETI cup.

I found it HERE on Etsy.  He just LOVES his YETI cup, and I highly recommend them to anyone.  We actually got one for Emma this weekend while we were away, and she pretty much loves hers too.  I also ordered her a decal from Etsy with her name on it for her cup. They can be fun to personalize and make your own.  You can find the YETI cups HERE.

So what else do you get someone that has pretty much everything he needs?  I always always have a hard time with gifts for Brian, because honestly if he needs something he usually just goes out and buys it.  Any suggestions are welcome!!!! =)

I'll leave you today with a picture of my Easter Bunny while waiting at the doctors office Monday for an appointment =)

Have a great day everyone!!

Tuesday Talk {Weekend Recap}

Well Hello!  Happy Tuesday!  I never got around to getting a post up yesterday, so today I am recapping our weekend!

Saturday morning the girls were anxiously awaiting my mom to come and spend the weekend with them.  They absolutely love when my mom is around, probably because she spoils them rotten!

Once my mom got to our house, Brian and I headed to Portland.  Just about 3 hours from our house.  We checked into our hotel and you know what my most favorite thing about this hotel is?
This.

They give you hot fresh chocolate chip cookies when you check in, and they are amazing! =)  Our room was really nice, king size bed, gigantic tv, bath robes, I basically could have lived there the rest of my life and have been a happy camper.  As long as they brought hot cookies to me everyday ;)

After we got settled we went and did some shopping.  Brian had never been to Cabella's before, so he really wanted to go, so that's what we did.

The place was seriously huge.  I wasn't expecting it to be as big as it was.  He really could have bought the entire store, but thankfully he didn't. ha!

After some shopping, I really wanted to drive to Cape Elizabeth which is outside of Portland to the Portland Head Light.

I really could have spent a lot of time here walking around.  It's probably one of the most beautiful places in Maine that I have ever been to.

The ocean is my happy place.  I wish we lived closer to it.  There is just something about the air and the waves that I just absolutely love.

We had dinner reservations at a place in Portland called Dimillo's.  It's an old boat turned into a restaurant.  We have been before, and it didn't disappoint at all!

We started with drinks and mussels in a wine/mustard sauce and they were oh so good!  I had Scallops Pasta Carbonara, and Brian had the prime rib.  Creme Brulee was on the menu for dessert, and I had every intention of ordering it, but I was way too full once dinner was done to even think about it.=)

The next morning we stopped at Starbucks and then went to a local bakery for homemade doughnuts.

It's safe to say that we didn't lose any weight this weekend! haha =)

We had a lot of fun, and it was nice to get away and enjoy each other company and to be able to talk in peace and quiet =)  I love my girls more than anything, but boy oh boy do they like to talk and talk and talk. =)

I hope you all had a great weekend as well, and hope you have a fabulous Tuesday!  Linking up today with the ladies from Tuesday Talk =)
