Birthdays all around!

My sister-in-law *finally* had her baby on Tuesday!!  And Tuesday was also my Birthday =)  So my very first nephew and I get to share a birthday!  I joked with my brother in law and said, well apperantly it's not all about me anymore huh?  hehe =)  I couldn't be more excited to share my birthday with this little man!  He's a keeper that's for sure!
Meet Kaden.  He's 1 day old in this picture, and he's pretty darn cute I think ;)
Their family is now complete!  They finally got their boy!!  My nieces were so excited to have a brother =)
And there is my pork chop next to the little peanut! Haha  She looks gigantic compared to Kaden!
We were pretty busy on Tuesday, we spent pretty much the whole day at the hospital waiting for his arrival.  I knew we wouldn't be able to go out for dinner on Tuesday, so Brian and Emma took me out Monday night.  We went to my favorite restaurant, The Green Tea.
Dinner was ah-mazing!  Brian got me a Camcorder for my birthday.  So now I can record the girls all the time!  Emma has already wanted to put on a Frozen concert for me! haha =)
Yesterday was my niece Hannah's birthday.  She was soooo glad that her baby brother was born the day before her birthday! hehe =)  I still cannot believe she was 11 years old yesterday!
It's Thursday, and i'm sooo ready for the weekend.  Saturday we are celebrating Brians birthday!  So yeah, Birthday's all around!!! =)

Family Pictures

I have one word for our photographer.  Amazing!  I found out about her when we were pregnant at our doctors office.  I picked up her business card and then scheduled Alyx's newborn shoot with her.  She is such a nice person and I love that she has caputured some amazing photos of our family.  She finished our photos the other day and I really couldn't be any happier with them.  I cannot wait to get these printed off and hung all over my house! haha =)
We didn't get many pictures of Emma & Alyx together, well because Alyx had enough towards the end!  And we wanted to make sure we got a family picture...which we did!
I can't wait to get some canvasas made up!  =)

Sneak Peek!

We had our family pictures done yesterday, and I am so excited about them!  We got a sneak peek of them last night, so i'm sharing with you!
I just love our photographer!  And the pictures she got of my girls, I just love!!!  I can't wait to get them all, order tons of prints, and plaster my walls with them! haha =)
And some super exciting news, my sister in law's water broke this morning so my new nephew should be arriving very soon!!!!!  I am super excited, but super bummed that i'm at work.  I'm hoping she can hold off until I get out of work at 3:00 today =)
Happy Monday!

I have a voice? And a tongue?!?!

We're finding our voice!  Alyx that is =)  She babbles all the time now, and I just love hearing her little voice, especially when i'm in another room and I can hear her telling stories to herself =)
I took this video of her yesterday, and she had us laughing hysterically!  She has found her tongue, and she thinks it's just the best thing in the world right now.  After she started this yesterday, she hasn't stopped!  She's pretty cute =)
It's Friday!!  And my weekend off.  We have a pretty busy weekend ahead of us.  Saturday we have a benefit dinner to go to, which is going to be a good time, but also an emotional time too.  Emma is excited because Alyx's godmother is going to babysit them!  Sunday we are having our pictures done again.  I'm still stressed out about outfits.  I have a couple in mind for Emma.  A couple in mind for Alyx.  Mine i'm still kinda torn on, and well Brian....I have no idea.  I'm stressing over that just a teeny tiny bit! lol  It will all come together i'm sure.
I'll share a couple of pictures from the last couple of days.
Emma went back to school on Wednesday after being out Monday and Tuesday from her sickness.  She was pretty excited to get back to see her friends.
Alyx and I took a nap together the other day, and she always wakes up such a happy baby!  Excuse my extremely tired look! haha

Apperantly eating rice cereal is just absolutely exhausting!  She couldn't take it and fell asleep while eating =)
And really how much more snow can we take?  This was yesterday after leaving work and the roads were terrible!  I think we got about 20 inches of snow.  Spring...Where in the world are you???
Happy Friday all!!

Alyx Grace * 4 Months Old *

I can't believe I am doing Alyx's 4 month post.  She is growing up too fast for my liking!!  It's fun seeing how much she has grown from month to month though =)
We had her 4 month well child check the other day, and she is growing right on track!
Sleeping:  Great sleeper still!  I put her to bed around 8:00, and she sleeps through the night until around 7:00 am.
Eating:  We've moved onto a little bit of solids!!  Just some rice cereal for right now.  I'm hoping in the next week or so to start with some veggies.  I cannot wait to start making my own baby food.  I didn't do this with Emma, but i'm all about it with Alyx!
She loves the rice cereal!  I can't wait to try some new food with her, i'm sure she'll love those too!
Clothing:  She is wearing 3 months still, but she's long!  So I have put her in some 3-6 month clothing just for the length.  She is currently wearing a size 1 diaper, but i'm about to change it to a size 2.
Weight: 12 pound 8 ozs!  She's a growing girl!
Hair: She still has a tint of red to it, but it's darkened up some
Eyes: Still blue as blue can be!
Alyx still loves her baths.  Loves her playmat, and LOVES her exersaucer!!  She will fall asleep almost immediately after putting her into her carseat.  She's an excellent shopping buddy!
She's such a happy baby and so easy going.  Starting to get super interested in the dog and cats.  More so the dog.  She looks at him with such big eyes and tries to grab for him =)
Happy 4 months Miss Alyx!!

On the Mend

This last week has been rough to say the least!  I started last Monday with the stomach bug.  Mine lasted just a little over 24 hours.  Tuesday, Brian got it.  His lasted from Tuesday morning until Saturday.  Sunday, Emma got it.  We've been a mess in our house for the last week.  But we are finally all on the mend!  Emma has been almost 24 hours now without vomitting.  Although she says her tummy still hurts, which is to be expected with as sick as she was yesterday.  She missed school today, and honestly I may keep her home tomorrow as well.  Another day of rest and relaxtion might do her some good.
So I don't have much for pictures, but i'll share what i've taken!
I still can't get over how much of a happy baby Alyx is!!
And boy does Alyx love her godmother!!  She was all smiles when she visited =)
And last night I had 2 completely different girls.  One happy, smiley baby.  And one very sick and tired little girl.
I sure hope Emma is back to her normal self again very soon!

One Word

I have one word for you all to describe this post:

It has hit our house, and so far Emma is the only one to have escaped it.  Even the baby has been sick.  I am praying hard that Emma doesn't get it.  So no fun pictures here today.
Just hoping we all get better SOON!!!

Can it be??

Can it really be possible that Alyx is almost 4 months old?  And can it be that she is already using an exersaucer?!?  Oh where oh where has the time gone??

I really wish I could bottle this time up.  It's going by faster than I ever could have imagined.  I'm sad that both of my girls are growing up...but i'm also feeling blessed that I was chosen to be their moms.  I have two of the sweetest girls ever =)

This afternoon we are going to go out sliding with my nieces.  Emma cannot wait to go...and it's pretty chilly here today. Hopefully it warms up a bit!  I have dinner going in the crockpot, and I thought I would share the recipe!

Crockpot Meatballs

I had never made these before, but a friend of mine made them a few days ago and I have to say they are my new favorite crockpot meatball recipe.

1 Bag of Frozen Meatballs (I used the italian style meatball)
Put those into the bottom of the crockpot and mix together in a separate bowl:

3 cups of Ketchup
3 cups of brown sugar
1 1/2 teaspoons of Chili Powder
1 1/2 teaspoons Worcestershire Sauce

Pour sauce over meatballs and cook on low for about 4 hours.  Or high for 2 hours.

Super easy and super good!

I'll share about our sliding adventures probably later this evening =)  Happy Sunday!
