Oh Sickness...GO AWAY!

It honestly seems like my girls just cannot catch a break!  They both have had colds for just about a week now.  It started with fevers for both of them, and then the coughing, sneezing, runny nose and itchy watery eyes.  After I picked them both up from daycare yesterday Emma told me that her left ear was hurting really bad.  I asked her if she thought she could wait until the next day to see the doctor and she started to cry and said no.  So off to walk in care we went.
They checked Emma's ears and sure enough her left ear was infected.  And then I asked them to check Alyx's ears.  Andddd sure enough, she had an ear infection in her right ear.
I feel so bad for them.  I'm hoping that the antibiotics kick in quickly and they both start feeling better.
After leaving the grocery store to pick up their meds I looked in my rear view mirror to find both of them sound asleep in the van, and holding hands.
They seriously love each other so much <3
So now i'll back up to earlier in the day.  Emma is now going to daycare twice a week with Alyx.  She's never been to a daycare ever.  The lady that watches Alyx is truly amazing.  It was the best decision Brian and I ever made by switching daycares.  Since it is summer vacation, Tonya, the daycare lady offered to take Emma as well on the same days that Alyx goes.  And Tonya has a daughter named Emma as well.  And both Emma's are the same age =)  She has a pretty awesome schedule for the kids.  Yesterday they played outside on their bikes, painted flower pots and planted flowers in them.  Made cards for hospitalized children.  Rode their bikes and just had a blast all together!  The 2 Emma's got along great!  Tonya sent me this picture of them...and they were both dressed identical!!
I am certain that Emma is going to have a ton of fun this summer!!
And it's Friday and i'm off for the weekend!  Woohoo!  And bonus the weather is suppose to be beautiful!!!  Happy Friday!

Bath time has quickly become a favorite of Alyx's.  That is since she has learned to sit up and...splash!!  We usually end up with more water on the floor and counter than in the sink when it's all said and done.  She just loves it!

This age is so much fun right now, but I wish I could bottle it up and keep her and Emma little forever!  I don't want my babies to grow up!

Happy Father's Day!

Happy Father's Day to all dad's and grandfather's!
First of all, Happy Father's day to my Dad.  He is not only my dad but he is also my hero.  I would not be who I am today if it wasn't for him.  He has been there for me through thick and thin.  And always gives me the best advice.  I couldn't have asked for a better Father =)
And also Happy Father's Day to Brian.  He is the best dad our girls could ever ask for.  They love him more than  I can even begin to say.  He's the most amazing husband as well =)
Happy Father's Day!!!

Alyx Grace * 7 Months Old *

7 Months.  I seriously cannot believe she is already 7 months old.  It's going by so fast!

We don't have a well child check scheduled for Alyx until next month, so i'm not really 100% sure on all her stats right now.
Weight: I'm guessing about 16 pounds
Length: Not really sure, Maybe 26 inches
Clothing: 6-9 months
Diapers: Size 2
Sleeping: Still a great sleeper!  She usually sleeps between 10 and 12 hours a night.
Feedings: Bottles are about 7ozs.  We have not introduced juice just yet.  She also loves her food!  There has not been a single thing still that she has tried that she hasn't loved.  I made frozen watermelon pops the other day and she enjoyed them a ton!

Alyx hasn't shown any interest in crawling just yet.  She can roll over completely.  And she grabs everything still.  Her favorite thing to grab right now is hair.  And Ouch!!  She loves to laugh and giggle.  Just a happy baby!!

Happy 7 months Miss Alyx!!!

Our Weekend

Oh weekend.  Why did you have to leave us so soon??  We had an *awesome* weekend!!  The weather was absolutely perfect!

Saturday morning I packed the girls up and we went to visit Alyx's godmother Tia at the hosptial.  She had a pretty in depth surgery on Friday.  So we brought her some flowers and a bag of magazines and candy for her.  And of course Emma made her a card.  Tia is doing ok, but she's got a long recovery ahead of her.

We took a couple of pictures before heading into the hospital so Tia could have a couple of new pics of the girls to look at =)
After leaving there we went to check out a couple of yardsales, didn't find anything good at all.  And then we headed to my parents house for the weekend.  And I tell you what...i'm loving the van!  We had so much room it was crazy.  And we even brought the dog with us =)
Gunner is so in love with Emma.  He would have sat in her lap the way up there if we had let him!
After getting to my parents Brian and I took the dog and went for a ride.  I love the area around where I grew up.

Emma went with my dad to visit someone at the nursing home, and my mom took Alyx on a walk.  Then we all met at my aunts house for a BBQ.  It was nice for Emma to see her cousins and play with them for the evening.
And as soon as we got back to my parents Emma wanted to go swimming.  The pool was freezing, but the air temp was hot!  So of course I let her.

And as soon as she got up Sunday morning, right back in the pool she went!
And Alyx woke up smiley and happy!
We headed back home around noon and got stuff to BBQ.  While Emma was outside playing with friends she somehow stepped in a nest of mosquitos.  She came home crying hysterically and after getting her into the bathroom I could see why.  And she also kept telling me she had a mosquito in her ear.  I got the mosquito out of her ear, but she was still miserable.
The Benadryl works awesome, and took the itchiness away.  I felt sooo bad for her.
We ended the night with an awesome BBQ.  Steak, Potatoes and corn on the cob.  I love love love summer nights =)
And a happy baby too of course!!
I'm hoping we have many more good weekends like this one was!!
