Baby Update {29 Weeks}

It's that time again!  We're at 29 weeks =)  I can't get over how much different this pregnancy is than my pregnancy with Emma.  I have a nurses visit next week just to check my blood pressure, weight and urine.  My blood pressure hasn't been too bad, but then again being on the bp meds has helped.  So here is my update for this week!!

Due Date? November 14th...C-section

How Far Along?  29 Weeks today!!  And feeling really good =)

Size of baby?  According to an app on my phone, Alyx is the size of a small cabbage at this point and weighing in at about 2.9 pounds!!  Almost 3 pounds =)  That's a huge deal for me seeing as though Emma was born at 3 pounds 2 ounces.  Hopefully Alyx will be bigger!

Weight Gain?  Still losing.  I had an appointment the other day for my GD, and I was down another pound.  So still no gaining.

Maternity Clothes?  Oh yes!  Brian took me shopping last week for some new clothes =)  It was fun, but expensive. Oh well, he told me I was worth it! haha =)

Movement?  All.The.Time.  Man oh Man!  I love it though =)  Emma LOVES being able to feel Alyx kick and move.  She gets the biggest kick out of it =)

Food Cravings?  I'm craving Chinese still.  Soooo badly.  But I will wait until after she is born.  I have told Brian the day that we bring Alyx home from the hospital, that we will be ordering take out from my favorite chinese restaurant =)

Gender?  All Pink!  Alyx Grace

Labor Signs?  None at all.  Lets keep it this way too!

Belly button in or out?  In!

What I miss?  Still sleeping on my stomach.  And being able to sleep all night.  I can't remember the last time I had a full, complete, nights sleep.  I have the hardest time getting comfortable.  And it seems like just as i'm nice and comfy...I either have to get up to use the bathroom or my hand has fallen asleep.  Apperantly the hands falling asleep thing is a pregnancy issue?  Who knew!

Looking forward to?  Getting through the next 11 weeks, and finally getting to meet Miss Alyx =)  I keep having dreams, and cannot wait to see what this baby girl looks like!!

We still have so much to do before she arrives though.  I'm really really starting to get stressed about it.  We are moving Emma's room upstairs, and her bedroom will become Alyx's.  We still have to paint, get a new crib, buy all the new bedding for the crib.  Oh my list could go on and on.

So last night my mother called and asked if it was ok if she took Emma for the day.  They went on a little adventure to the coast of Maine.  Here are some pictures she posted on facebook =)

They went to lunch and Emma had Maine clam chowder!  Yumm!!
Emma even got a little culture on her trip.  They went to the Farnsworth Art Museum.  I wasn't too sure Emma would like it, but my mother said she did.  My mother has a couple of Andrew Weyeth prints, and Emma recognized those being there.  So i'm glad she enjoyed it =)
That's all for today.  One more day of work after tonight, then i'm off for the weekend!  Yay! =)

Updates & Stress

I had my followup appointment with the diabetic clinic today.  I was a little nervous, but I made out great!  No insulin for me still!  YAY!  The doctor I saw was extremely impressed with how I have been eating.  It's definitely been a change, and I would be completely lying if I said I never craved ice cream or cake or candy bars.  lol  I've learned that we can still eat out at restaurants, I just need to make healthier choices.  And I can still eat a lot of the same meals I ate before.  I just need to remember...portion control!!

So yesterday we headed out to do some school shopping for Emma.  We drove to Freeport, where all the outlets are.  It's about 2 hours away from where we live.  We hit up Carters, OshKosh, Gymboree & LL Bean.  I found more at Gymboree than anywhere else!  I wasn't in the mood to take pictures of everything we here is just a few of my favs.

Okay, so neither of these are for Emma.  But I had to get something for Alyx too =)  Emma picked out the purple outfit.  She thought the two bears on the front of the onesie was "her and Alyx" =)  And Emma had her first little melt down about having a sister on the way.  Every store we went into I looked at the infant stuff as well.  Emma came up to me at Gymboree and said, "Alright, we are suppose to be school shopping for me.  Enough looking at stuff for Alyx." LOL  She was too funny =)

I love love love the hopscotch shirt!

And this dress was Emma's pick at Gymboree.  I think it's really cute too!

Inside the bubble of the fish tank.  She was pretending she was swimming in there!

And for supper we stopped at Red Robin!  I so wish there were one of these closer to us.  So good!

So yesterday was a good day.  And guess what I did on our drive down there?  Called all the local area daycares around us.  I am beyond stressed out about daycare for Alyx when I return to work after my maternity leave with her.  I didn't have to worry about this with Emma because my inlaws took care of her for us since we both worked nights.  However, starting in January i'm finally going to be working days!!  My mother in law works during the day, so unfortunately I have to find someone for Alyx.  I have called at least 10 different places.  None of them are available.  I prefer an in home daycare rather than a big daycare center.  I'm keeping my fingers crossed that something will turn up.  It has to!

Emma has just a little under a week left of summer vacation.  She goes back to school on September 3rd. This summer sure did fly by, and i'm going to miss spending all day long with her.  I know she is anxious to get back to school though and see all her friends.  And she is beyond excited about her teacher this year too!  Her teacher sent a letter to Emma, and at the end she put that she knows a lot of people in her family and she cannot wait to meet Emma!  Emma got a huge smile on her face when she read that =)  I think she's going to have an excellent school year =)

Sunday Randoms

The weekend is almost over...however that is fine by me!  It was my weekend to work, so the next 2 days I have off =)  Even though Brian and I had to work we still had a good couple of days.  Saturday morning my mother in law called at 7:00 and asked if Emma wanted to go to camp for the day.  Of course the answer was yes!  I have never got her out of bed so fast, dressed and packed and ready to go as I did yesterday morning!  Woke her at 7:00 and by 7:20 she was already for camp!  And the bonus for me was...I got to go back to bed!  I'm not sleeping very good at night.  It is sooo hard to get comfortable right now.  I'm usually sleeping with 4 pillows and getting up every couple of hours to use the bathroom.  So to get some extra sleep yesterday morning/afternoon was great!
Brian doesn't get out of work until 7am, but when I got home at 2am this morning he was home!  He got to leave work early, so it was nice to come home at 2am and not be alone in the house! ha =)

This morning I picked Emma up from the inlaws fairly early so they could go to church.  Em & I hung out for a while at the house, and then the 3 of us went to Brians grandmothers house for a lobster feed!  They fed us well...Lobsters, Steamed clams, Corn on the Cob, Mac & Cheese, Potato Salad, Macaroni Salad...I had to leave to head to work before dessert was served, but i'm certain it was something yummy!  Emma got to play with all her cousins, including one of her little cousins Ainsley.  She was so cute!  Ainsley has a little brother Colson that was just born 4 days ago.  Sooo precious, and I got to snuggle with him =)  We also got news that our family is expanding even more!  My sister in law is pregnant with her 3rd!  She's due in March, very exciting!!

Emma and Ainsley playing in the grass
So for some random things...I love love love Zulily!  I'm not so much of a fan of their shipping time, but the deals are great!  I ordered Emma a new pair of Keens a few weeks ago for $19.99, which is an amazing deal.  And yesterday I found this little thing that I just couldn't resist buying.
Since it gets so cold here in the winter I thought this fleece carseat cover would be perfect!  And I think it's pretty cute too!  It will keep Alyx nice and warm when we are out and about!
Tomorrow we are taking Emma to the outlet capital of Maine! haha  I can't wait to get to Carters, OshKosh and Gymboree!  I hope I find lots and lots of good deals...keep your fingers crossed for me!

I feel like I have so much to blog about...yet I can't remember hardly anything!  Last week we took Emma to Mt. Katahdin to go swimming at a place called Togue Pond.  She had a b.l.a.s.t!  The water was warm, clean, and sandy!

On our drive there.  I was fortunate to grow up in a beautiful area!
Emma was not impressed in this all!  I wanted her to sit up on the rock with Brian and I was going to take their picture.  She would not have it!  There was no way she was climbing up the back of this rock!

Emma is such a fish!  She could swim and swim and swim all day long if we let her.  We headed back to my parents house after her swim and hung out there.  My mom made us a great meal, and Emma and I ended the night by watching gymnastics on tv =)
Yesterday I went shopping for myself!  Usually i'm shopping for Emma or Brian...but this time it was all about me!  And it was nice because Brian went with me and helped me pick out some new maternity clothes =)  Although cashing out at the register was slightly depressing.  2 pairs of maternity jeans, and shirt that was on sale cost me just short of $100.  Crazy!  But it was worth it, and I Love my new jeans from Motherhood maternity!
After shopping we took Emma to see Disney's Planes in 3D.  I highly recommend it!  She loved it.  There was a little boy in the theatre that was so funny!  The main "plane" in the movie's name is Dusty.  He kept yelling, "Go Dusty Go!"  It was so funny, Brian and I kept laughing =)
Now I have to brag just a little ;)  I made a beef stew last night and let it cook in the crockpot all night, and then all morning.  And it was the best beef stew ever.  I kinda had a cheat day today, so I was able to eat it!
And I have a new obsession.  These.

I am obsessed with buying these headbands! A couple of them I got local, and the others I ordered off Etsy.  Every day there seems to be a package at the door for something for Alyx, and Brian just rolls his eyes, haha.
Since I can't seem to think of anything else to write about tonight, I suppose i'll go back to watching HGTV, House Hunters and watch how unbelievably picky some people are! haha
Happy Weekend!!

Baby Update {27 weeks, 4 days}

Ahhh!  It's coming along so quickly!  I have to say my pregnancy has gone pretty quickly so far.  We still have SO MUCH TO DO!!  I'll get into that after the Update though.  So here you go!

Due Date?  November 14th =)  C-section again

How Far Along?  27 weeks & 4 days.  Finally hit the 3rd trimester!  Wahoo!

Size of baby?  At my appointment today they said she is about 2pounds 4 ounces =)

Weight Gain?  We are at -15 pounds.  Yup still losing weight.  But I have changed my diet so much, and i'm still healthy so the doctor isn't concerned about that at all.

Maternity Clothes?  Oh yes!  Very much so!

Movement?  This is crazy, she moves all the time!

Food Cravings?  I haven't really had any cravings, however i'm really really really craving chinese right now.  And unfortunately I can't have it.  We had it a little over a week ago and my blood sugar went sky high after eating just a small portion of it.  So that is definately off limits until Alyx is born.

Gender?  Girl!  Alyx Grace =)

Labor Signs?  None!

Belly Button In or Out?  In

What I miss?  I'm still sticking to my original answer....sleeping on my stomach!!  And I miss chinese food too I guess you could say =)  Haha

Looking forward to?  Meeting Miss Alyx in 12 weeks!

I had my 27 week appointment this morning, and everything looked great!  I had an ultrasound first, and the little bugger wouldn't move again!!  She was in a terrible terrible position, all curled up in a ball and just wouldn't move.  She was a little concerned at first about what looked like a lack of fluid levels, but then said it's because of the position she was in.  I go back again in 2 weeks, for a nurses visit.  Just to have my blood pressure taken, weight, and a urine test.  They are only doing that because it was about this time last time around with Emma that my pregnancy went downhill fast and I ended up delivering her so early.  So they are just being safe at this point.  My blood pressure was great today!

So back to, everything we need to do.  Yeah, to say the least i'm starting to get stressed out.  We still need to move Emma upstairs into her new room. Paint Emma's old room and make it into Alyx's nursery.  Buy a new crib, since Emma's crib turned into a fullsize bed.  We need a new carseat since Emma's has expired! lol  So we have a lot to do yet.  I know it will all eventually get done...but i'm stressed! =)

We had a very eventful weekend.  We were at my parents on Saturday.  We took Emma to the lake, and I have a TON of pictures, but not on this computer, so that post will have to wait.  Brian had to work Saturday night, and Sunday we headed to a friends house on a lake and went boating.  So I will leave you with one picture.  Yes just one.  More next time I promise =)

Catching Up!

Man oh Man...I have been bad at blogging lately.  So let's play Catch Up!

My last post I mentioned that I had a meeting/appointment with the diabetes clinic at the hospital.  I made Brian go with me to it.  Sometimes I feel like a ton of information that is thrown at me at once, just goes in one ear and out the other.  So another set of ears, plus the support, was just what I needed.  There were 3 other women in this meeting with me.  All 3 were also pregnant, and all 3 with gestational diabetes.  It was nice being able to talk to someone else that has it as well.  Our meeting was very informational and I learned a lot!  I was given a big folder full of recipes.  And also meal plan samples.  I have had to tweak some of the meal plans a bit, only because some things they suggest you have to go with a meal I may not like.  I have a little monitor thing that I have to carry with me and prick my finger to test my blood sugar 4 times a day.  So far every time I have tested it, it's been good!  So how I'm eating now is helping!!  I will admit that I'm still having cravings for ice cream...but I haven't caved yet!  The nurse that instructed the meeting was really nice and funny.  She basically said that if you have a craving for it...have a little of it, but not a big bowl like you normally would =)  I'm sure that day will come, when I cave and have a spoonful or two of ice cream =)

So what else?  Oh, Emma and I went shopping the other day.  I had a gift card that I decided to use on her.  Spoiled?  No!!  We went to AC Moore, and she just loves doing crafts and stuff.  So we got a ton of stuff to do!

Bonus is that all the back to school sales are going on, so all the Crayola supplies were dirt cheap.  Manly $1.00 and under!
Emma found these super cool flip flops that you can color yourself.  She had a blast coloring them all different colors.
She was in deep deep concentration ;)
Final outcome!  I think she did a great job with them =)  And she had fun doing them too!
Today I came home to find a surprise on the doorstep.
I was sooo surprised to get all of this!  The wonderful Bri from School in our Slippers sent this to me =)  Now Alyx has her very first Thirty-One bags!  When I started my blog, I honestly never thought anyone would read it.  I stumbled across Bri's blog a while back and even though I have never met her, I feel like I have.  She was so thoughtful to send this to Thank you again Bri!!! =)
And speaking of is she a mover!!  Constantly moving around!  It's just the weirdest feeling because I don't remember Emma ever being this active, but I totally love it!
I hope everyone enjoys their's me and Brians weekend to work.  Emma is going to camp with my inlaws Saturday into Sunday.  She's pretty excited!  I ended up going to 4 different stores this afternoon looking for a pair of water shoes for her.  Finally found them at the last store we went to!
Enjoy your weekend!!!!

Baby Update {25 Weeks}

I am officially 25 weeks today!!!  Here is an update!

Due Date? November 14th =)  Another c-section.  The c-section I’m not looking forward to .  I had one with Emma, and I had time to recover at home before she came home from the NICU.  This time around it will be a lot different.  But thankful I have a very helpful hubby =)

How far along? 25 weeks as of today!!!

Size of baby? She is approximately the size of an Eggplant and about 2 pounds now =)

Weight Gain? No weight gain yet.  I think I am down 10 pounds now.  Doctor still isn’t worried about the weight loss.

Maternity Clothes? Very much so.  I wish I could live in yoga type pants!  I’m finding anything that feels somewhat tight on my belly makes me very uncomfortable

Movement? It’s crazy how much Alyx is moving!  Emma never moved as much as she is.  She’s kicking and moving around constantly.  Except for ultrasounds…she’s always “sleeping” during the ultrasounds, hehe =)

Food Cravings? Right now, EVERYTHING.  And I think that’s only because of the gestational diabetes.  Everything I see right now, I want it, but unfortunately I can’t =(

Gender? Girl!! Alyx Grace =)

Labor signs?  None at all….lets keep it that way for a long while too

Belly button in or out? In

What I miss? I’m still missing sleeping on my stomach.  I have a really hard time getting comfortable in bed.  And it seems as though just as I get comfy, my arm falls asleep and it’s time to roll over.  Or I have to get up and pee.  Haha

Looking forward to? Tuesday!  I go to the diabetes clinic, and I will know lots more about what I can and can’t eat.  Right now I’m finding it so frustrating.   So Tuesday will be a good day!!
