It appears as though we will be getting a snow storm!  I'm not complaining, because I feel for all the families and everyone affected by the horrible storms in the Midwest.  Very sad.

We had a good day today. We picked Emma up from school, and when we got home I had her make her "pop" as she calls him a get well card.  Brians dad had minor surgery yesterday.  And he is doing really well!

We've been playing outside a lot lately in the snow, as you have seen on my last few posts!  Emma has been having a blast!  We haven't done a snowman yet this year though, the snow hasn't been sticky enough for it.  Gunner is doing so well of a leash!  He sticks right by us and listens so well.  He has so much fun playing with Emma in the snow =)

He is getting big!!  Loves playing in the snow.  He's such a good boy and awesome addition to our family!  He will be 7 months old tomorrow!

Tonight Emma and I went to a couple of stores.  They are having Dr Seuss day at school on Friday to celebrate Dr. Seuss's birthday and they are suppose to wear black & white.  Do you think I could find a black & white shirt for Emma in her closet?  Nope!  So off to the GAP we went.  The second I walked into GAP there was a black & white striped shirt.  SOLD-to me of course =)  And it was on sale which is a plus!  We then went to Old Navy.  At the front of the store at Old Navy they have a few mannaquins.  Emma for some reason loves them.  She decided to pose with them tonight...

Can you tell which one is Emma?!?! =)

We also made brownies tonight.  Or actually, Emma made them.  She's a really good helper!!

I went outside to let the dog in and when I came back in this is what I found....

A handful of chocolate chip! =)

Tonight Miss Emma and I are watching 101 Dalmations on the Disney Channel.  I love this movie and Emma has never seen it. =)

Tomorrow night i'm back to work for 2 nights, and then I have the weekend off with Brian and Emma! =)  I hope everyone had a great day!

I've never been a huge fan of winter.  However....I always have so much fun when we are outside playing in the snow with Emma.  Brian and I both had yesterday off.  I absolutely love having the same days off as him!  Working the schedules and shifts that we do makes it hard.  But we make it work!  And we have an agreement with each other, that the days off that we do have we spend them together as a family.  I'm so glad that I married a man who is just as much a family oriented person as I am.  He is amazing.  Love him so much! =)  Anywayyy.  Yesterday we had a good day!  I got up around 6:30 ish, got Emma ready for school, fed her breakfast and then off to school we went.  I love dropping her off at school.  I bring her into the school and she always gives me a big hug and kiss and then off she goes to her classroom.  I love seeing her walk down the hallway with that big backpack on and all the big kids around her.  She looks soooo small!

After dropping her off I came home got ready and Brian and I went into Bangor to do some shopping.  First we went and looked at new cars.  I'm in the market for one hopefully soon.  But what to get?  My ideal car would be a new Chevy Tahoe...but there is no way I will be paying for the gas for that with the prices of gas right now.  So we have looked at the Ford Edge, which i'm totally in love with!  It has everything in a car I could possibly want!  It's really prettyyyy =)

I also like the new Jeep Grand Cherokees.  Right now I have a Jeep Liberty, which I have had since 2004.  So it's older and I would like to have something larger.  I really have never had any problems with my Jeep.  And the Grand Cherokee is nice too!

Yesterday I found a VW Touareg.  It was really really nice as well.

Every SUV that I have looked at was black or dark blue.  I'm not sure why!  And my Jeep that I have now is black.  Who knows what I will end up with for a vehicle.  But I really like all the ones that I did look at yesterday! =)  Brian and I got to have lunch together yesterday.  It's always nice to be able to have lunch together, just the two of us.  We picked a few things up at Sams Club and then went and got Emma at school.  She was sooo excited because she knew we were going to go slidding.  If any of you live in the south, this is soooo much fun!  Yes it is cold, and it gets tiring walking up the hill, but it's so worth it!

I love her face!  The face of excitement!  I wish this were a video because it was sooo funny!  She was laughing and squeeling!

These pictures don't do it justice, she was really going fast on this little sled that she had!!

See that excitement!  I love this girl and boy!! =)

Emma thought this was so funny!  When the sled finally stopped her face was covered in snow! =)

Making the trek back up the hill =)

Me and my little girl!

Me and my man =)

Completely tuckered out!!!  We took her out for dinner last night and I thought she was going to fall asleep at the table.  She was soooo tired from this =)  We had a great day!  Brian has to work tonight, so i'm not sure what Miss Emma and I will do this afternoon.  Hopefully something fun, it sounds like we are in for a big snowstorm tonight into tomorrow...I'm ready for spring! =)  Hope everyone has a great day!!!!!

Fun in the S-N-O-W!!!

Today we have a really good day!!  My mother in law kept Emma last night since Brian and I were both working.  I picked her up around 11:00, I got to sleep in!! YAY! =)  My mom came down today to visit for a bit.  She lives a little over an hour away so I don't get to see them very much.  We went to lunch at a little sandwich shop in the next town over.  It was sooo yummy!  =)

We came home and went outside to play in the snow we recently got.  In my last post I had mentioned that we didn't have much snow this year.  Well I guess I jinxed myself because right after I posted that I looked outside and it was snowing!  We got about 5 inches or so of snow.  Not nearly the 19 inches that my grandmother got in Northern Maine!  We seriously picked out the best puppy in the world for Emma.  He is soooo good, and loves to be outside and run.  He is really really good off a leash, which i'm thankful for.  I was worried at first because our backyard isn't fenced in, but he stays right with us =)  Here are some photos of Emma and Gunner playing in the snow =)

So that was our afternoon in the snow!  We had lots of fun.  And might I add that i'm pretty darn proud of myself because the scarf that Emma is wearing I knitted!  My very first attempt at knitting =)  I hope everyone enjoys their Sunday.  Tomorrow is back to the normal grind for us, school vacation is over for the kids!  =)

Family Day!

The past few days here at our house have been, well eventful to say the least! Wednesday I didn't go to work because I was not feeling well at all.  This is school vacation week for Emma, and I feel really bad for her because she hasn't felt well either.  We really didn't have the opportunity to do anything at all.  Usually we have a lot of snow this time of the year and we could have gone slidding, but there is hardly any snow this year.  (And trust me, i'm not complaining about the lack of snowfall here this year :)  Thursday I was off from work and so was my husband.  We decided that we would have an "Emma" day and let her decide what we would do for the entire day.  So at lunch time she really wanted to go to Chinese for lunch so we did!  This is probably her most favorite food ever!!! =)

After Chinese her next stop was a new book store.  She made out like a bandit there!  The Dr Seuss books were buy 2 get 1 free.  She got 3 of those books, and then I found this movie for her.

I watched it last night with her and it was really good!  It's about a 4th grade girl who overcomes being bullied by a group of 3 girls.  This movie is a must for anyone who has children who are in elementary school. Emma is only in Kindergarten but she completely understood this, and i'm really glad I got it for her.  I *HIGHLY* recommend it!

After the book store we decided to head to my husbands parents camp.  Just for a drive and so we could let our new puppy out and just let him run for a while.  My brother-in-law and my 2 nieces were out there spending the night.  We got out there let the dog run, run run.  And might I add that dog can run!  He had so much fun!  The girls had fun too.  After a while we started to head back into town. Wellll...the road is a dirt road.  There are 2 ways to get there.  I refer to them as the "Short way to camp" And the "Long way to camp"  The short way is usually really bumpy.  So I asked my husband to take the "long way home".  Well, bad decision on my part.  The road was completely glare ice.  I mean, Glare I-C-E.  So as we are going about 10 mph, down a hill, my Jeep slowly begins to turn sideways and there was just nothing we could do...And down into a ditch we went.  When they say Jeeps are made for Off Roading, I think they are wrong.  We couldn't get out.  Do you think we had cellphone service?  Ummm, NOPE!  After a while I was finally able to get some service, got a hold of my brother in law.  Emma was in the backseat crying her little heart out.  I felt sooo bad for her.  None of us were hurt thankfully.  But she was really scared.  We were waiting for my brother in law and 2 guys happened to drive by us who worked for a local big rig trucking company.  They were able to pull us out!!!  I had my camera with me, but I was too mad to get out and take pictures.  I was also worried that my Jeep had damage, but no damage at all!  Thank the lord!!! =)

Today we just kinda laid low around the house.  Cleaned and played around a little bit.  Tonight was Pizza Night for Emma and I.  My husband had to work.  I let Emma do all the work getting the pizzas ready for us!

I just love her so much!!!  I was going to "edit" out the blue candy marks on her face, but I thought nooo that's her!  She was having fun!

This is the best pizza ever!!!  Premade pizza crust, Ranch dressing, cheese and chicken! Yuummm-O!

And that's definately a piece of chicken sticking out of her mouth that she stole as she was putting it on the crust! =)

And our finished prodcut!  I decided to do mine buffalo style.  It was really really good.  I'm still on my diet, but I decided to have a "cheat" night =)

So something that I am really really excited about!  I have a love for photography.  I have since my daughter was born.  I have decided to take an online photography class!!  I'm sooooooo excited about this!!  It's called the Momtog Photo Class.  I found a photographer on facebook called Mesmerizing Moments, I believe she is located in Texas.  Her work is aahhmmazing!!!  It starts March 15th, which can't come fast enough now!  It is suppose to teach moms like me how to take better photos of your child.  If anyone else is interested in it, here is the link!

Tomorrow I head back to work for the weekend and Monday.  Then i'll have 2 more days off on Tuesday and Wednesday.  Which I am all ready excited for!  Any day that I can be off with my family is a good day.  But i'm also thankful that I have a full time job =)  Hope everyone enjoys their weekend!!! =)

This winter has been soooo frustrating health wise for our family!  We have all been sick, sick, sick!  It all started toward the end of September and it's just been lingering on and on.  Emma and I both had pneumonia, and it took a long time to get over that.  Plus add in colds there.  And a couple of bouts of the flu for Emma.  If you remember back a couple of days ago I posted that Emma had been vomiting on Friday and then just a nasty yucky runny nose and eyes.  Well...she has since then started complaining about her ears.  This child has had more ear infections than I can count.  Of course her normal pediatrician was on vacation, so we saw a different doctor.  The first words out of the doctors mouth were, "She needs tubes in her ears."  Sooo this is where we stand now.  I hate seeing my little girl in pain.  I pray every night that she can get rid of this yucky stuff and just be healthy.  So at this point i'm waiting for a referral to see an ENT (ears, nose & throat) doctor and waiting for another referral for her to see an allergist.  Boys oh boys.  Crazy winter for us.  If you pray, keep us in your prayers!

Valentines Day Dance!

I know that Valentines Day is over, however they just had the Father/Daughter Valentines Day dance last night!  Emma has been soooo excited for it!  We got her a new dress, sweater, tights, and shoes.  And made an appointment to have her hair done!  And then what happened on Friday night at about 5:30?  She got soooo sick!  Throwing up, runny nose, all that yucky stuff.  She threw up from about 5:30 until around 1:00 am. She finally fell asleep and then slept most all day Saturday.  I woke her up around 1:30 in the afternoon and asked how she was feeling.  She said she was feeling much better, and she looked better.  I bathed her and got her dressed and she kept saying she didn't want to miss her special night with her daddy.  We decided to let her go, so we went to the salong and got her hair done!  I brought my camera with me there but didn't even take a single picture while she was getting it done!  Gosh i'm terrible lately!  Her hair was the cutest I have ever seen it.  She had a braid across the front and then all pulled up in curls, with a big white flower!  Sooo cute!  We came home got her dressed, took a few pics and then off she went for a night out with her dad!  Here are some pics =)

Emma had so much fun!  I didn't get a ton of photos with my camera, but Brian did take my little point & shoot camera and they got quite a few photos.  I'll have to go through them later and post some more.  Andd..Emma is still feeling lots better.  Still a nasty runny nose and runny eyes, but no more of the fluish type stuff! =)  I hope everyone is enjoying their weekend!!!! =)

Our Love Story

1.  How long have you and your significant other been together?

I met Brian in 2005, so we have been together for 7 years now =)

2.  How did you meet? {What's your "love" story?}

It’s kind of a funny story.  I was on my way home from work one night.  It was around 10:30 at night.  I stopped at a gas station, pumped my gas and then went inside to pay.  As I was standing there waiting in line, 2 police officers came in.  I knew one of them, but didn’t know who the other one was.  I talked to the one I knew for just a second and then left.  The officer I spoke to never introduced me to the other officer he was with.  The next day I went to work where I’m a dispatcher and I told one of my co-workers about this guy I saw last night, but was never introduced.  She knew immediately who I was talking about.  She told me his name was Brian.  I told her that I thought he was really cute! =)  A few nights later I was on my way home from work again.  I was driving through the next town over from where I work and all of a sudden I saw blue lights behind me.  I was sooo mad because I knew that I had to have been speeding.  Next thing I knew, the officer aka Brian was at my window.  He smiled and said oh, it’s you!  I kind of laughed and he told me to slow down and then I went on my way.  I couldn’t stop thinking about him!  Thennn, the next night at work I noticed that he was working as well.  He came down to the office where I work that night to pick up paperwork and we ended up talking for quite a long time.  Then we started talking on the phone and emailing.  About 2 weeks after officially meeting him I asked him jokingly if he wanted to go on vacation with me to Florida.  He said yes without even pausing! =)  We indeed went on that trip to Florida and the rest is history!  He’s such an amazing guy!!! =)

3.   If married, how long have you been married?

We were married on June 30, 2006.  So it will be 5 years this year. =)

4.    If you are married, where did you get married at? Big or small wedding?

We were married here in central Maine at a place called Morgan Hill Event Center.  It was a good size wedding.  We had a little over 200 guests there.  I had 5 Bridesmaids, 5 groomsman, 1 junior bridesmaid, 2 flowergirls and 1 ringbearer!

5.   Do you have any nick-names that you call one another?

We honestly don’t have any specific nick-names.  Brian tends to call me Jo and I call him Bri.

6.  Name 3 things you love most about your honey.

He is so much a family oriented man
He is funny
And he likes to go shopping with me =)

7. Tell us how he proposed?

Brian proposed to me on a horse and carriage ride in December of 2005 in New York City.  I was soooo surprised and not expecting it what so ever!!!  It was so romantic! =)

8. Is he a flowers and teddy bear kind of guy for v-day, or strawberries, champagne, and rose petals?

Brian is definitely more of a flowers and jewelry type of guy =)

9. Are you a sunset dinner on the beach kind of girl, or pop a movie in and relax on the couch?

Definitely a movie at home relaxing!

10. Tell us one thing you'd like to do with your significant one day.

We would both love to go somewhere out of the country.  And not to Canada! Haha We border Canada and have been there numerous times

11. Tell us what you plan on doing on this Valentine's Day.

Since Valentines day passed before I could post this, we stayed home.  Brian bought us lobsters and clams for dinner, and we had a great relaxing family night at home =)

12. Give us one piece of advice of keeping a relationship strong and full of love.

To be honest with one another.  You need to put your family first.  Life is too short.  Love Love Love =)

14.  Show us a picture of what love means to you.

My little family of 3 is what love means to me.  I can't imagine my life without either of them.  My life is better with them in it.  They are both the loves of my life.
I hope everyone had an amazing Valentines Day! =)

Happy Valentines Day!!!

It's Valentines Day!!  We had a great day here!  We got up this morning and made pink heart shaped pancakes for Emma's breakfast!

I feel so ashamed because I took a photo of Emma's breakfast and our dinner, but never even took a picture of her!  She looked super cute today in her jean jumper with a red shirt and red leggings with hearts on them =)  Sooo cute!

So what did Brian and I give each other for Valentines?  Well, I got him a new outfit.  He is taking Emma to the father daughter Valentine dance this coming Saturday, and he needed something new to wear!  And this is what I got....

Yup!  Most girls get flowers and chocolates, I get lobster!! =)  My most favorite meal ever!  We went to the seafood shop and picked some out along with clams.  We had a super yummy dinner!

I never even took a picture of Emma's gift!  Gosh, I'm really starting to get bad at this whole picture taking thing.  Anywho, we got her some yummy candy, a homemade fudge heart from a local bakery and the movie Lady & The Tramp =)  She loved it all!

I hope each and everyone of you had a great Valentines Day!!!! =)

So my last post I posted that I was trying out this whole diet thing.  I have now been 11 days!  I think this is the most I have ever stayed on track with dieting.  I'm starting to feel really well!  I have cut out sweets and soda completely.  This was sooo hard at first and still is.  There have been numerous evenings when I have been home and have just wanted to go into the cupboard or freezer and get something chocolate and sweet.  But this time I have completely put my mind to it.  I feel a lot better already too.  I'm not sure how much weight, if any, I have lost yet as my husband took the scale away from me! haha  We'll get it back out in another week or so and we'll see if I have progressed at all.  I'm excited about this and i'm hoping and praying that I will be able to stick this out.  I need and want to get healthy.  My blood pressure has been really high in the past and i'm hoping that maybe changing my lifestyle a bit will help with this.  =)

Weekend Randoms =)

Emma had decided that she wanted to get her ears pierced.  Well, to be quite honest i'm not ready for that yet.  That kind of means she is growing up.  =(   Plus...I had told her when she is able to take care of them, clean them and everything else that goes along with it, then she could get them done.  I really didn't think she was ready for that yet.  Sooo after a lot of crying, I had an idea!  I took her to the mall and we went into Claires and I got her a big package of magnetic earings!  When she wears them they look just like she has her ears pierced!  She was sooo excited that they look real.  We put them right in, and by the time we got home she said her ears were itchy and she wanted them out.  So after explaining to her that if they were real she wouldn't be able to take them out, she was happy she didn't do it quite yet.  =)  I took a picture with my phone and texted it to my parents and my husband.  They all thought she had actually had them pierced!  Here is a picture taken from my phone.

Soooo on another note.  Since we are leaving for Florida in ohhh 80 days or so, I decided it is time to lose some weight.  I'm not going all crazy with exercise and all that just yet.  I'm just cutting back, eating healthier, more veggies and fruits.  I'm addicted to diet coke bad.  I love it.  I'm on day 4 now without any caffeine at all, and no sweets.  I've been making pita sandwiches for lunch with turkey, tomatos & alfalfa sprouts.  It is sooo good!  This morning for breakfast I had a 1/2 of a toasted multi grain sandwich flat with an egg white topped with salsa.  Sound yucky?  It totally wasn't!  It was super yummy!

Today is Superbowl Sunday!  It will definately be hard to pass up all the yummy food today, but *I WILL GET THROUGH IT*! =)  We're hoping for a win from our Pats today!!!! =)  I hope everyone has enjoyed their weekend!!!! =)

A Princess Makeover!

I'm sooo incredibly excited about going to Disney in like 84 days, not that I am counting or anything! =)  I have been to Disney more times than I can count, but now that I am a mom to a 5 year old that is into everything Disney, it's much much more magical than ever!  My parents always brought me every year when I was growing up.  We had a great time, but Disney has changed so much over the years.  One of the things is the Bippidy Boppidy Boutique!!!!!  They never had that when I was little!  With Emma being 5 years old and all this is the perfect time to visit the boutique!  I made the reservations for it this evening.  They have 2 locations, one at the Magic Kingdom and the other at Downtown Disney.  I really wanted to do it at the Magic Kingdom, but after reading all the reviews the less busy place seems to be Downtown Disney.  I did tell Emma about it, only because I wanted her to choose which princess she wants to be.  After looking at the prices of the dresses at Disney, there was no way I was paying that much.  She choose Belle and I found a dress online for more than 1/2 the price of the ones at the disney store.  I cannot wait to take her their for her Disney Makeover! =)

I have been *terrible* at taking photos lately!  My camera is always right there, but lately I haven't grabbed it.  Tonight when I was getting Emma ready for bed, I snapped a couple of her and Gunner snuggling.  They have become the best of friends.  There is nothing like a puppy.  We love him so much! =)

Happy February 1st to everyone!!! =)
