Happy Thanksgiving!

I hope you all had a great Thanksgiving and are stuffed full of turkey!  We had a really great day yesterday.  It was the first time in about 3 years that we were able to have Thanksgiving at my in laws hunting camp.  There is just something about having at camp that makes it better.  Maybe because it's in the middle of the woods...in the middle of nowhere and everything gets cooked on an old fashioned stove.  Turkeys were cooked outside in a deep fryer and a ham was cooked in a trashcan outside.  Everything was so good, and it was great being with family.  It would have been just a little better if my parents were able to have been there with us.

The Sirois Men. haha  Left to Right, Brian, his brother Kevin, his dad Gary, and his brother Nick.

Alyx the Pilgrim! hehe =)

Emma and Brian went out for a ride on the side by side.  I would have loved to have gone, but right now I don't do too well with bumpy roads!

Getting the turkey ready!

Our little family of 4 =)  I can't believe that Alyx is 3 1/2 weeks old and this is our first picture as a family of 4! =)

So how many of you went out black Friday shopping?  The only place Brian and I went was Target this morning.  And to my surprise it wasn't busy at all!  We got a few things, but not a ton.  I still have so much Christmas shopping to do!!

Cause I know you all just wanna know, i'm feeling somewhat better.  Taking it day by day.  I had appointments with my doctor all week long except yesterday.  I went again this morning, and he did say it's looking a little better, but it's not healing as fast as it should or as fast as he would like it to.  I'm on another antibiotic because he is afraid it could be infected =/.  I can't even begin to tell you how amazing my doctor is.  He has been super through all this, and is even seeing me in his office over the weekend so he can continue to drain my stomach area.  Not many doctors will see you in their office on weekends when they aren't even working.

I think today we are going to hang out at the house for the rest of the day, maybe have some hot cocoa and watch Christmas movies!!

Dr's Appointments after Dr's Appointments!

I thought for sure after I had Alyx these trips to the doctors office would stop!  Apparently not with me.  So I had another appointment this morning for my c-section issue.  I'm still draining =(.  I'm on yet another antibiotic and hopefully this one will do the trick and things will get better.  My doctor is amazing though, and he's on top of things.  He knows i'm in pain so he said this morning he wants to see me at his office every morning this week (except Thanksgiving day).  I'm keeping my fingers crossed and praying that by the end of the week i'm back to my normal self! =)

Anyway...my brother in law has been awesome and watches Alyx while we go to these appointments so we don't have to drag her along with us.  Plus it gives him time to snuggle with his niece =)  After we got home this morning I took some pictures of Alyx during her tummy time.  She LOVES to be on her tummy!  When we are sitting with her, she would much rather be on your chest cuddled up on her belly than laying on her back.  She's so darn cute =)

Gunner has been *very* interested in her.  I was kind of nervous at first when we brought her home because he really wanted to just get right in her face.  I think he thought she was a doll at first, and then she made a noise and moved and it kind of startled the dog.  But the last couple of weeks he has "bonded" with her and loves to lay with her.  He sits by her bassinet when she whines or cries, and then he whines himself.  They are certainly becoming best buds =)

So tonight is my first official night at home alone with both kiddos.  Brian is working all night tonight, so it should be interesting to see how it goes!  I'm not quite sure how you moms with more than 2 kiddos do it.  I give you lots of credit that's for sure!!!  =)

Update and Randoms =)

First of all, I'll update you all on how i've been feeling lately.  My answer...so-so.  I'm still not 100% better, and probably not even close...but i'm getting there.  I went to the doctor almost every single day last week, and I have another appointment tomorrow.  Basically they have told me I have a seroma behind the area where I had my c-section.  It's a build up of fluid behind the incision, that has no where to go other than out the incision.  It's beyond painful, I can't bend over, and I feel like i'm walking like a 95 year old lady! haha  My doctor has been draining it at every appointment we have, and there is still fluid there.  At my appointment on Friday he put a drain in to keep in over the weekend and tomorrow he will take it out.  I'm hoping that tomorrow goes good!!  I'll make sure to update tomorrow as well =)

Anyway...enough of me complaining about me!  My mom came down on Friday and spent the entire weekend with us =)  Brian hasn't worked since Alyx was born, and he has been beyond amazing.  He went back to work Friday night and I was so sad.  =(  He works again Monday and then he's off again until Friday.  I don't know what I would have done these last few weeks without him.

I have a bunch of random pictures tonight to share with you all =)

Emma LOVES her baby sister!  She is like a little mother to Alyx.

Alyx with her great-grandmother...or as Emma calls her..."Old Mimi" haha

Crazy Emma with a minion =)

I love Alyx & Emma's matching owl hats =)

We celebrated my mother in laws birthday today, and finally got a good photo of all the grandchildren!  The 5 girls.  And, we also found out the other day that we are finally going to have a boy in the family!!!  My brother inlaw and sister inlaw are expecting their 3rd baby in March, and it will be a boy! =)  That poor boy is going to be stuck with 5 female cousins! hehe

I hope you all had a great weekend...it's time to start getting ready for Thanksgiving!! =)

Pictures---Emma & Alyx

Thank you all for your messages about my last post.  I'm starting to feel somewhat better, and I have a doctors appointment tomorrow afternoon.  Hopefully everything goes well and i'm no longer in pain soon!  I'm finding out that I would have been no good on bedrest while pregnant...because the last week stuck in the house not being able to do anything has been horrible.  But today I have felt that i'm walking better and in less pain, which is good!  Keep your fingers crossed for me that it gets much better =)

Anyway...Our photographer we had come to our house last week got our pictures done, and all I can say is i'm in LOVE with every.single.one.of.them!  Here is a peek at them =)

I LOVE this one of them!  Alyx has a smile on her face =)

These last 2 are my absolute favorite ones...

I knew Brian would love these and he does =)  I'm sooo happy with the way these photos turned out!  We should have had a few family pictures taken...but I wasn't quite in the mood that day to have my picture taken! haha  Oh well, we'll have them done again sometime soon! =)

The title to my post says it all...Uggghhh.  That is exactly how I feel.  It's been a week and a half since I had Alyx.  And I had her via c-section.  My recovery with Emma when I had the c-section was rough, but not as rough as this has been.  The last few days have been absolutely horrible.  And last night got worse.  If you have a weak stomach, then don't continue to read.
Brian left last night around 3:30 to head to camp for the afternoon/night.  My mother in law and sister in law came over to give me a hand with the baby since the last couple of days I was having a really hard time getting around.  Well...around 6:30 or so something didn't feel right.  I went into the bathroom and found that my incision had opened up and I was bleeding badly.  Needless to say, I freaked out.  I called my doctor and my sister in law called Brian to have him start heading home.  My doctor was more than amazing.  He wanted Brian and I to meet him right at his office, so as soon as Brian got into town we headed there.  When we got there, he ended up having to drain my incision and it's probably the worst pain I have ever felt in my entire life.  I ended up getting an infection, and it was causing all this fluid to back up.  I know, disgusting.  He got it all drained, immediately started me on antibiotics and pain meds and sent me home.  Today i'm feeling a bit better.  He reassured me that it would continue to drain on it's own and that is normal.  So today i've been a complete mess having to deal with that issue.  Brian has been absolutely amazing helping me out.  He's been right beside me helping me every step of the way.  I'm hoping and praying that this goes away soon and that I start feeling like my normal self again.  It's difficult not being able to get up and help change diapers, make bottles, and little things like that.  I feel like i'm pretty much on bed rest.  But between Brian and Emma...they're amazing!  Emma is always willing to help, and even changing diapers! One thing she said she wouldn't ever do =)

I love this picture...the little feet sticking up in the air! hehe

The other morning before school Emma wanted to hold her baby sister...I thought this picture was the sweetest!

Alyx kind of looks like she's smiling =)

Anyway, I see my doctor again Tuesday morning.  I'm praying that things are better by then!  Well since Alyx is finally sleeping...I suppose that means I should get some sleep too!!

1 Week Old

This past week has gone by so incredibly fast.  I cannot believe it has been an entire week already since Miss Alyx was born.  So far she is a really good baby!  She has done well during the night.  Only getting up about every 4 hours or so.  I can handle that!  We had her one week Well child check today.  They said she looks great!  Although, I'm really thinking she might be constipated.  So tomorrow i'll be calling the doctor in the morning to see what she suggests.  We had the same problem with Emma when she was born as well.  Hopefully it goes away soon!  Alyx did great at her first "official' outing at the doctor.  As soon as we buckle her into the car seat, she falls right to sleep.  =)

So yesterday I mentioned we had photos done.  The lady that did them was so incredibly patient.  She told us it would take her a couple of hours to do them.  She was here for about 3 hours.  She doesn't like to rush because as she said that just makes the baby even more cranky.  Alyx was great.  Very chill and slept through about 95% of the photos =)  Last night she posted a couple of sneak peeks on her facebook page of the photos!  And I cannot wait to see the rest of them!  Here is a sneak peek.

I Love Love Love this picture of Emma & Alyx!  Emma just absolutely adores Alyx, and has been absolutely amazing with her. She is such a huge help with her.  I'm sure after a while the newness of having a sister will wear off, but right now she is nothing but amazing with her.  I love these 2 more that I can put into words.

This one is too cute for words too!  I can't wait to see the rest of the photos, and then pick out one for Christmas Cards! =)

She's Here!!

Our baby girl, Alyx Grace, has arrived!  We are just beyond excited and so much in love! =)  Hopefully i'm not boring you all, but here is her birth story.

On Monday, 11/04/13, we went to the doctor for an ultrasound.  While the lady was doing the ultrasound, she asked us what the exact due date was.  I told her 11/12/13...there was a long pause and she said, "Well, how does the 4th or the 5th sound instead?"  I instantly wanted to start crying.  Not because I was upset, but that we were finally going to meet this little peanut sooner than expected!

Monday night I don't think I slept a wink.  We woke up at 3:30 am, since I had to be at the hospital by 5am.  We dropped Emma off at my inlaws around 4:30 am.  And then Brian and I were off to the hospital!  We got there, checked in, and then off to the 7th floor, Labor & Delivery we headed.  We got to my room, I changed up, they took all my vitals, and then started an IV in my hand.  And let me tell you...it hurt like no other!  They ended up having to stick my hand 3 times, before they finally got it in.  A little bit later my inlaws showed up with Emma, along with my parents.  I visited with Emma for just a few short minutes before having to leave for the operating room.

When I walked into the OR, I instantly felt sick to my stomach and became extremely nervous.  I can't begin to tell you how amazing and awesome the nurses, anesthesiologist, and my doctor was.  After getting the spinal, they brought Brian in, and they started the c-section.  It only took about 5 minutes into the surgery, and I then heard the most amazing noise...Alyx crying =)  I remember I kept asking Brian over and over again, "is she cute? is she cute?" haha  They finally brought her over to me after Brian cut the cord, and they got her all cleaned up and made sure that she was ok.  I will never forget seeing her face for the very first time.  Instantly in love!

Welcome to the world Miss Alyx Grace!!
Born: November 5, 2013
Time of Birth: 7:33 am
Weight: 6lbs 9ozs
Length: 20 inches

After leaving the OR, they brought me into the recovery room.  I think I was in there close to an hour or so.  The surgery went fine, but after I couldn't stop shivering.  Emma was able to come in for a few minutes, but she got really nervous because I was shaking so bad.  I as well as everyone else assured her it was normal, but it still scared her.  I wanted to be there so badly when she met her baby sister for the first time, but I was in the recovery room still, and they brought Alyx to the nursery to be weighed.  Emma met her for the first time when she was being brought to the nursery.

I loved the fact that I was able to snuggle with Alyx while in the recovery room, and Brian was able to feed her there as well.  When I had Emma she was taken right to the NICU, so I wasn't able to spend any time with her.  This experience was totally different.

Emma is such a good big sister!  She loves holding and kissing Alyx =)

We were suppose to be released from the hospital on Thursday.  However, Thursday morning when our doctor came in, he said Alyx's jaundice levels were on the high side.  So we stayed Thursday into Friday so she could spend 24 hours under the billi lights.  Friday morning, her levels were much better and they released us!  I was so excited to finally get back home =)

She did awesome on the 15 minute car ride home.  Not a peep was heard out of her =)

I'm so glad to be at home finally with my baby girl.  She is such an amazing blessing to our family.  Emma is in love with her, and such a huge help.  She LOVES helping to feed her and change her diaper.  I'm still recovering from my c-section.  And probably will be for a while.  Thankfully I have an amazing hubby who has been waiting on me hand and foot, and some amazing friends and family who have dropped off dinner and snacks for us.

Today we had a newborn photo shoot.  I cannot wait to see the photos!  We also had some done of Miss Emma.  The photographer came right to our house and did them, so it was so nice not to even have to leave the house.  I'm going to be stalking Facebook until she posts some sneak peeks of the photos =)

Being a mom again to another little girl after 7 years has definitely been an adjustment.  But I wouldn't trade it for the world.  Alyx is amazing.  So far she has slept so well at night.  Usually up every 4 hours or so.  I hope I haven't just jinxed myself! haha

One last photo for today =)

The time has come!!

Alyx doesn't want to wait until her due date of 11/12 =)  She will be making her appearance tomorrow morning 11/05 around 7:30ish am!!  We had a doctors appointment today and an ultrasound, and my fluid levels were extremely low, and the doctor said we probably shouldn't wait any longer.  He was really reassuring about the repeat c-section (which I am beyond nervous about).  Last time around with Emma I had an emergency c-section and then she was rushed off to the NICU.  So we are hoping and praying for a healthy delivery and that everything with Alyx is just fine!!  It might be a while before I update my blog again, a few days anyway.   But I will update everyone as soon as I can!  Can't wait to meet our baby girl!!! =)

Our last picture as a family of 3 =)

Why i've been MIA

So.  Yeah, i've been MIA for about a week now.  I haven't even got caught up on blogs that I read on a daily basis.  So here is why.

Monday I woke up and did not feel good at all.  Like nausea's and just really yucky feeling.  I ended up calling out of work sick.  And thankfully I had a doctors appointment already scheduled for 2:30 that afternoon.  We headed to the doc's, and my blood pressure was high, and there was a lot of "yucky" stuff in my urine as they put it.  They wanted me to head right over to the hospital after I left there and have a bunch of blood work done, and then wanted me back at the doctors office Tuesday morning at 8:00 am.

Tuesday came, and I felt worse.  I developed a horrible cough overnight, and was now vomiting a lot.  My blood pressure was still high at the office, they did a NST (non stress test) and everything with the baby looked fine.  Thank god!  So after that appointment, they said if anything changed, to make sure I gave them a call.

Wednesday morning I woke up and felt like I had been hit by a mack truck.  So I called them and they wanted me to come right in.   Blood pressure, still up.  Nausea & vomiting, still there.  I was certain they were going to admit me right then.  But they didn't.  The doctor explained to me, with this cold or virus that I have it would be more risky to deliver the baby.  So until I can get rid of this horrible crud I have, Alyx will need to stay put.  He gave me some meds for the cough, and put me on an antibiotic to hopefully clear up this sickness that I have.  Also he has put me out of work until I deliver.  So that means I don't go back to work now until February!  Yesterday, Thursday, was the only day I didn't see the doctor.  I did go today, they checked my BP, which is still high, and told me to get lots and lots of rest.  My mother in law took Emma for the night for me, and Brian is working so I see lots of sleep in my future tonight.

So basically at this point i'm praying that I start to feel better asap, and that everything continues to be healthy for Alyx.  I go back on Monday afternoon for an ultrasound and another appointment with my doctor and hopefully i'm feeling better by then!  And hopefully the BP issues are because i've been sick.

Tomorrow I will update you all on our Halloween!  Which I have to say was super uneventful since it was a complete downpour here =(.  We made the best of it though!!
