Weekend Recap

Good Morning!  And HAPPY Monday! =)  It is suppose to be a beautiful day here today, and it just so happens that I am off from work today, so that makes today even better!
We had an exciting weekend, so let's recap!

Friday evening Emma had her basketball banquet.  It was a really good time, and the girls received trophies for their undefeated regular basketball season.

They were all excited to get awards!  The coaches also put together a slide show of photos and videos from the entire season and put it to music.  It was sooo good, and I may have teared up a bit watching it ;)

Saturday the girls were off to their tournament!  Brian and I both had to work so we weren't able to get to all of her games.  Brian did manage to get to her last one on Saturday evening.  They won all their games on Saturday and Sunday they went into the Semi-Final game, and won that, and then they played for the Championship.  They ended up winning the Championship 25-15!!

I'm thankful for all the moms that texted me pictures since I couldn't be there!!!

I am beyond words excited for this group of girls.  They are just an amazing group.  They all get along SO well, and have fun with each other.  I pray that they are always this close!!

Meanwhile, Alyx always has fun at the games.  And then I find these pictures on Facebook later in the evening.

My nieces friends, and Emma's friends always take off with Alyx and take pictures and have fun.  She loves these girls! =)

So yes, our weekend was completely basketball filled but now I think the season is officially over.  I'm sad because they've had such a great time, but also i'm ready for a bit of a break and some relaxing evenings now before Softball starts! haha
I hope you all had a great weekend!!!

Linking up today with Biana and Meghan today =)

Friday Favorites

Well, hello Friday!  It's been a long week and I am sure that everyone is very happy to see the weekend here =)

Linking up with Narci, Andrea and Erika for, Friday Favorites =)

We are in full swing potty training!

We've obviously had a couple of accidents, but so far Alyx has been so good at telling us when she needs to go =)  Hopefully it continues!

I love to paint my nails.  Yeah I know I may have mentioned this once or twice or maybe even three times about my nailpolish obsession, but I really dislike having to take it off.  Until now.  I found the best nail polish remover and I am sharing it with you!

It has a sponge and a hard brush inside.  It's amazing.  And if your polish has any glitter in it, you know how hard that can be to remove, this takes it right off.  I'm in love! ha!  You can find it HERE.

Maine is very limited with really good doughnut shops.  Whenever we travel we *always* make a point to see if there are any Krispy Kreme doughnut shops around.  Brian is pretty much obsessed with them.  Well, the other day this popped up on Facebook.

I was so excited when I saw this.  Cause you know, you can never have too many doughnuts! ha! =)

One thing that I love about the blogging world is not only the people I've "met" but the tips, tricks and advice I have received from them.  Justine (who is one of my favorite bloggers) wrote a post the other day about bath towels the other day and how to refresh them.  Well, I gave it a try and it was amazing how well it worked!
Throw your towels/washcloths into the washer with hot water and add one cup of vinegar.
Run the towels through again in hot water this time with 1/2 cup of baking soda.  Don't add detergent to either cycle.

Our towels are old.  Like almost 9 years old.  They now smell brand new.  You know how towels develop a funky smell after a while.  So Justine, thank you for sharing this!!!

I bought Brian a YETI cup and I decided to try something.

I filled it with ice water around 7pm one evening, and when I got up at 6:45 the next morning there was still ice in it!  Now I think I need one of these cups =)

Tonight Fuller House is on!!

I really cannot wait, and Emma is just as excited as me!!

Finally, I hope you all have a great weekend!!  And i'll be back here Monday!! =)

Also linking up today with Karli and Amy for, oh hey Friday!

Also linking up with Liz, Christina, Natasha and Darci for, 5 on Friday

And lastly, linking up with Katie, Tiff, Della and Caitlin for, High Five for Friday

Thoughts for Thursday

Hi!  And happy Thursday!  We've had a crazy week around here so far.  Monday Emma was home sick from school.  Just a really bad cold and body aches/chills.  She went back to school Tuesday and then yesterday I woke up at 5:45 to this message on my phone.

School was cancelled for Emma because of the snow.  So I let her sleep in and she woke up at 8:30 and couldn't figure out why in the world she was still home. Ha!  She jumped up and down when she realized there was no school.  I remember those days as a kid very well!
I had a meeting at work yesterday morning for a couple of hours and then we took the girls to the mall.
Alyx got a build-a-bear for Christmas that wasn't stuffed.  I couldn't figure out for the life of me why someone would give the gift of the shell of a stuffed animal!  Until I called build-a-bear and they assured me that this was completely normal and people like to buy the shell to give the recipient of the animal the experience of going and having it stuffed =)  Sounded great to me and I knew Alyx would love it!

Emma helped of course =)

After we hit up the book store for a new book for Emma.

I sent this picture to my mom and her response was "Emma's coat looks like it's too small"  Well, that's because it is.  She insisted on wearing her winter coat from 2 years ago!  And sometimes it just isn't worth an argument, so I let her wear it.  Lol

We honestly haven't had a horrible winter snow wise.  It snowed yesterday morning and by noon it rained and all the snow was gone.

p.s. Brian was driving, not me ;) haha

Today I have a bunch of errands to run and then it's home for a few hours and then off to basketball practice we go.  What am I going to do with all my free time once basketball is done?! ha!
Have a great Thursday!!

Tuesday Talk

Happy Tuesday!  We have been so busy around here and I am so behind on reading my daily favorite blogs.  Today is going to be a day for catch up!  So while we're playing catch up, let me catch you up today on a few things that I have purchased lately that I just love =)

To start off, one of my favorite blogs and probably one of the very first blogs I started reading is Shay over at Mix and Match Family.  She seriously has the cutest little family and she seems so down to earth.  I would love to sit down at Starbucks with Shay and have a cup of coffee.  Ok, hopefully I am not sounding too stalker-ish =) Ha!  Anyway, Shay is an amazing cook, and back last year she announced that she had written 2 cookbooks.  As soon as they were available for pre-order on Amazon, I ordered.  And guess what came in the mail?

I can't wait to actually sit down and find a meal in her cookbook to cook.  I've made several of her cakes from ones she has blogged about and they've all been amazing.  If you don't have either of these you can find them HERE.

If you've read my blog long enough than you know I love coffee.  Starbucks is at the top of my love list.  I ran into Starbucks the other day with Emma and I found these glass travel mugs.  They were in a bin marked 30% off the original price of $14.95.

I was excited that they were on sale, and then when the barista rang it up they were on sale even more for $4.95 a piece =)  So we got 2.  One for me and one for my mini me, Emma =)  She enjoys coffee now and then too ;)

I am completely obsessed with Chip & Joanna Gaines from the HGTV show Fixer Upper.  I watch it seriously all.the.time.  They also have a store called, Magnolia Market.  I was looking on their online store one day and I saw a glass butter dish that I really wanted.  Well, I didn't buy it that day and now it's no longer available =(  I can't even find it on E-bay.

I don't know why, but I just love it!  I am borrowing this picture of it from Andrea
at Momfessionals =)
I check Zulily pretty much every day and I found a butter dish that was similar!  So I ordered it and I think I love it just as much as the Magnolia Market one.

I am really thinking Brian should take me to Texas, just to go to Magnolia Market...and to meet Chip and Joanna too of course =)

I hope you all have a great Tuesday!  I'm linking up today with the ladies of Tuesday Talk =)

Weekend Recap

Well Hello!  I am back after a few days off from blogging.  It's been a crazy busy last few days around here.  I had the weekend off, but I feel like I need another couple of days off to recoup from the craziness we had this weekend.  So let's recap!

Saturday morning started bright and early.  Like 5:30 bright and early.  Basketball tournaments were on the agenda for Saturday and Sunday.  We had to be at the gym by 7:15, and it was about 30 minutes from home.

I am so thankful when these two wake up in good moods!!

I took wayyy too many photos this weekend, but I will spare you all from every single one! ha!  So Emma had a total of 6 games this weekend.  They did AMAZING!  Unfortunately the last game on Sunday they played a really tough team and lost.

These girls played their hearts out and in the end they held their heads high and showed the team that won against them that they are a really classy group.  I can't say the other team was anywhere near as classy as our girls.  I'm so proud of each and everyone of Emma's team mates.  Love these girls!!
One of the girls moms did all of the girls hair before the game on Sunday, and they all looked so good!

And they made ribbons in the car in between games!  =)

Sunday morning Emma woke up not feeling the best, but she didn't show it at all during the games.  But when we finally got home yesterday afternoon, she was completely wiped out and a mess.

The rest of the afternoon/evening was spent cuddled on the couch watching tv.  Rest was definitely in order for her.

I hope you all had an awesome weekend as well!  Linking up today with Biana and Meghan today =)
