So let's meet Shelly!
Tell us a little bit about yourself.
Hello all! I'm Shelly, a 48 year old Texas girl. My superpower is making beautiful babies and I am the proud mom of four; Jordan (27), Riley (24), Dillon (16) and Carly Jo (12). Being a wife to Keith also ranks pretty high up on my list of favorites.
I love Jesus, Mexican food, online shopping, long weekends and for sure over sharing! But I also struggle with my weight, balancing my "real" job with my personal life and giving grace. The older I get the more I feel drawn to make a difference in this world in whatever way I can. Of course, if you visit my blog, you will also see I love getting dressed every day! Believe it or not, 4 years ago I sucked at pulling together an outfit but thanks to what I've found in the blog world I have now stretched my closet and learned how to dress myself!

How long have you been blogging and what inspired you to start blogging?
My blog got rolling 3 1/2 years ago. I’m an over sharer by nature but also just love making connections with others. I also love keeping track of our family happenings but my love for scrapbooking was being overshadowed by busy schedules.
How did you come up with the name of your blog?
As I was piddling with a name I just kept coming back to all the “in betweens” in my life. I was in between raising littles and raising adults, perpetually in between a size 8 and a size 10, always feeling pulled between work and home, etc. I definitely like the role of being in charge so Queen just kind of worked since I love a great rhyming title!
Of all your posts you have written, which is your favorite and why?
Wow, this is definitely a tough one! My favorite posts come from my heart and center around momlife and marriage. Most can be found by viewing the Grateful Heart section of my blog (I really need to work on my categories!). If I have to pick just one I'm going to go with my Craziest Adventure - Motherhood!
You need some encouragement. Who is your go to person for a little pick me up?
Definitely my friends Holly and Kelli
. They both support me, love me for who I am and have known me long enough to excuse my crazy because they know my real heart.
You have friends coming for dinner tomorrow night. What are you going to make for meal?
More thank likely we will either be grilling steaks or I will be making my lasagna!
You are planning an evening out. What's your favorite go-to place for a fun time?
I really need to get better in this area! If it's a girls night we are heading to a great patio somewhere with just enough noise to cancel out our crazy laughter. If it's a date night I want to head somewhere with live music and a dance floor and we really do not do that often enough.
If you could have a weekend away, just you and your husband, where would you go?
Depending on the season we would either head to the hill country or the coast. Getting away from distractions of tv and internet and soaking up some nature either hiking or fishing.

What are some pet peeves of yours, and why?
Hmm….my family could probably give you a list a mile long! I’d say my biggest is people thinking their time is more valuable than mine.

Think the carpool line, or people hijacking a meeting with their own initiatives or better yet not sticking to a meeting time. Oh, and it really just irks me straight into tomorrow when I ask for someone to do something and they do not jump immediately to do it. :)
What's your go to type of music?
Oh goodness, I love music! My mom always had records playing my entire life and it just seems it can always suit any mood. That being said I love it all but if you hop in the car with me more than likely I will be listening to country or christian music.

What's your idea of the perfect family day?
All 6 of us together, plenty of food, no whining and lots of laughs!

What is your favorite Holiday?
I really think Christmas is still my favorite. Knowing I can always count on having all 4 kids spending the night at my house, laughing, being lazy and just loving on each other is the best.
