hello Monday

Happy Monday Friends!  I hope you all had a great weekend.

Link up with myself, Heather and Lindsay with your Monday post!

We had a really great weekend.  Friday evening we layed low at home.  And honestly, we were all in bed by 8pm.  Saturday morning we were up bright and early to head to Emma's swim meet.  Thankfully it was a home meet, but we still had to be there by 9:30.

And this is how Alyx gets through swim.  Doughnut holes and the iPad.  These are long.  Usually 3 or more hours, and it's SO hot inside the pool areas.  But they are also so much fun to watch.

The night before the coach sent out what events the kids would be swimming.  He put Emma in the 50 meter freestyle, 100 meter freestyle, the 50 meter breast stroke, and the 200 meter freestyle relay.  She was really nervous about the breast stroke because she's never swam that particular stroke competitively before.

First up was the 50 freestyle.

She came in 1st place in this heat and she was sooo excited!!
Next up was the 100 freestyle.

And again...
She came in 1st place in this heat as well!

The 50 breast stroke was her third heat, and she absolutely rocked it!!
She came in 1st place for that one as well!!

Alyx was super proud of her big sister!

Lastly was the 200 freestyle relay.

The girls fell just short of the boys in this relay and came in 2nd place.
We were so incredibly proud of Emma and how well she swam.  All of her hard work at practices all week long are definitely paying off.  It was so much fun to watch her and all the excitement she had =)

After swim was done, Emma headed off to a friends house.  She had her first Snowball dance at school that night.  They got ready at her house, and then we met them at the school to take pictures.

Emma and Allie have been best friends since they met in Pre-K.  I can't believe how much they have grown up!!

We headed out after a few minutes of taking pictures.  My inlaws watched Alyx and Brian and I had a date night =)
We went to the University of Maine Hockey game.

We hadn't been to a College Hockey game in a couple of years, and we had so much fun.

We played against University of New Hampshire.  It was white out night, which was a celebration of 40 years of Maine Hockey.  Everyone got a free t-shirt, and many of the alumni Hockey team was there.

During the first intermission of the game they had a shoot out.  A guy and a girl were out on the ice, and then all of a sudden he got down on one knee and proposed to her =)  It was really sweet!

The place went crazy!!

Maine and New Hampshire are big rivals, so there were tons of fights.  It was definitely an exciting game.  We ended up tying in overtime.

And whenever Maine got a goal...these guys would come running down the aisles ringing a cow bell and screaming.  It's a long Maine tradition.

It was definitely a lot of fun!!

Sunday we stayed home and Brian used his smoker again.  He made a boston butt, chicken and sausage.

I picked Emma up from her friends house because she had spent the night.  When I got there they were sliding in the front yard.  Her dads friend had made like a roller coaster type thing for them to slide in.

They had so much fun and were going so fast!!

We ended the day/evening watching the New England Patriots game.  What a game it was!!!  It was definitely a nail biter.  And there were times I thought we were done, but Brady got it done!!

Two weeks from today we will be watching them in the Super Bowl!!  Yay!!!

So there's our weekend.  It was crazy busy, but it was a good one.  Make sure you link up your Monday post below!!
