Happy Tuesday =) Today myself, Heather, Justine and Jennifer are linking up together and showing off our nail polish goodies from our swap. So if you joined us in this swap, be sure to link up today =)

I love these swaps =) And I am so thankful that Heather, Justine and Jennifer co-hosted along with me. I cannot wait to see what everyone received.

I was paired up with Erica from Second House on the Right. I've "known" Erica for quite a while now and she is so incredibly sweet. She and her husband just welcomed twin girls into their family! The girls are absolutely adorable, and just turned 4 months old =) You need to check out her blog to see those cute girlies!!

So Erica rocked this swap!

There really is nothing more fun than coming home and finding a package on the doorstep. Especially when you know it's just for you!!

The polishes Erica picked for me really couldn't have been any more me!

I mentioned to Erica that I was on the hunt for the perfect darker berry color. This OPI Miami Beet is perfection! And this dark grey...LOVE!!

Erica didn't stop there. I told you guys, she is the sweetest, and she sent my girls a little something as well =)

Emma got a bag with a note that said to Emma but apparently I forgot to take a picture of it...whoops!

To say they were excited is an understatment!!!

They each got 2 bottles of nail polish

and a sheet of nail stickers!

So so fun! Alyx immediately needed her nails painted. She got nail stickers that have doughnuts on them and she wanted them put on her thumbs =)

We had a really great weekend. It was all about the Patriots for us =)

Friday Emma stayed home from school, she really wasn't feeling all that great and she had a pretty bad sore throat. So for dinner she wanted a milkshake, so a milkshake she got =)

Brian and I ordered Thai takeout. It had been forever since we had it.

And it was so good!

Saturday early afternoon Brian and I were able to sneak away and go to a movie. We had both really been wanting to see the new movie, Patriots Day.

The movie was beyond words good. Being from New England, it pulled at my heartstrings. And Mark Wahlberg did an amazing job in this roll. One minute this movie has you laughing a bit and then the next minute crying. It was an excellent movie.

Sunday was football day! =)

My mom came over in the morning and brought me a little something she found when she was in Connecticut.

I was so excited! She knows me well, and obviously knows my new obsession for Rae Dunn mugs =)

We went to Sweet Frog early afternoon. Alyx loves her blue ice cream as she calls it.

This outfit makes her look like a little old man! haha I should have got a full picture of her in it ;)

So last night we stayed home and cooked a bunch of appetizers and settled in to watch our beloved New England Patriots play in the super bowl.

The beginning of the game literally had us on pins and needles. Brian was getting so mad. I really really thought there was absolutely no way they would come back and win the game...but THEY DID!!!

We love our New England teams and are so so happy they won! =) And they played an absolutely amazing amazing game!

What We're Reading Wednesday

Today is our second What We're Reading Wednesday Linkup =) If you have read anything lately, be sure to link up with us below!

So did I read as much this month as I wanted to? No. But I did manage to get one book read. I figure, even if I read just one book a month that is better than nothing =)

I love the author Jodi Picoult. I've read a ton of her books and I don't think I have ever been disappointed by any of them. So this past month I read Leaving Time.

I don't want to spoil this book for anyone who may want to read it, but the main character, Jenna, her mother disapperaed after an accident. Jenna believed that there is no way her mother would have just abandon her, so she went on a search to find her mother.
It was so so good. It kept me on my toes and I recommend it to anyone who has read any Jodi Picoult books.

Right now I am currently reading this. It's a 40 day devotional.

I love that this is a devotional for just us wives of our officers. I'm reading this along with a Facebook law enforcement police wife group and it's really interesting to see what everyone is getting out of this devotional. If you are a wife of a police officer or even a girlfriend of one...get this book. You will really enjoy it!
Next month I will share more of it once I get into it more.

Temperature Blanket

Happy Tuesday Friends =) We are in the middle of a really cold spell in our area. We've had a weird winter where one day it's 40 degrees and then the next it's absolutely freezing Have you ever heard of a temperature blanket? As of recent I had no idea what it was. And then my blog buddy Jennifer from Sweet Little Lovings posted a photo on Instagram of a temperature blanket that she was crocheting. And then I googled it, and wanted to make one my self.

So basically your color is coordinated with whatever the temperature of the day is. Like the temperature grid above. So if you wake up and the high of the day is 24 degrees, then you are going to knit across one row in the teal. So at the end of the year you will have a really fun bright colored blanket. Yes, it takes a year to make. I chose my own colors to go with the temperatures.

These are the first 5 colors of the blanket. Since it hasn't been super super warm I haven't even purchased the colors past aqua yet.

I wanted to start it from the beginning of the year, but I got a late start on it, so I went to the national weather service website and got the temperatures in my town for the last few weeks.

So far this is what I have. I still have a couple of days to catch up on, but it's easy because it's only one row per day.

I am really anxious to see the final blanket. But it's still going to be a long time before it's finished.
