She's Here!!

Our baby girl, Alyx Grace, has arrived!  We are just beyond excited and so much in love! =)  Hopefully i'm not boring you all, but here is her birth story.

On Monday, 11/04/13, we went to the doctor for an ultrasound.  While the lady was doing the ultrasound, she asked us what the exact due date was.  I told her 11/12/13...there was a long pause and she said, "Well, how does the 4th or the 5th sound instead?"  I instantly wanted to start crying.  Not because I was upset, but that we were finally going to meet this little peanut sooner than expected!

Monday night I don't think I slept a wink.  We woke up at 3:30 am, since I had to be at the hospital by 5am.  We dropped Emma off at my inlaws around 4:30 am.  And then Brian and I were off to the hospital!  We got there, checked in, and then off to the 7th floor, Labor & Delivery we headed.  We got to my room, I changed up, they took all my vitals, and then started an IV in my hand.  And let me tell you...it hurt like no other!  They ended up having to stick my hand 3 times, before they finally got it in.  A little bit later my inlaws showed up with Emma, along with my parents.  I visited with Emma for just a few short minutes before having to leave for the operating room.

When I walked into the OR, I instantly felt sick to my stomach and became extremely nervous.  I can't begin to tell you how amazing and awesome the nurses, anesthesiologist, and my doctor was.  After getting the spinal, they brought Brian in, and they started the c-section.  It only took about 5 minutes into the surgery, and I then heard the most amazing noise...Alyx crying =)  I remember I kept asking Brian over and over again, "is she cute? is she cute?" haha  They finally brought her over to me after Brian cut the cord, and they got her all cleaned up and made sure that she was ok.  I will never forget seeing her face for the very first time.  Instantly in love!

Welcome to the world Miss Alyx Grace!!
Born: November 5, 2013
Time of Birth: 7:33 am
Weight: 6lbs 9ozs
Length: 20 inches

After leaving the OR, they brought me into the recovery room.  I think I was in there close to an hour or so.  The surgery went fine, but after I couldn't stop shivering.  Emma was able to come in for a few minutes, but she got really nervous because I was shaking so bad.  I as well as everyone else assured her it was normal, but it still scared her.  I wanted to be there so badly when she met her baby sister for the first time, but I was in the recovery room still, and they brought Alyx to the nursery to be weighed.  Emma met her for the first time when she was being brought to the nursery.

I loved the fact that I was able to snuggle with Alyx while in the recovery room, and Brian was able to feed her there as well.  When I had Emma she was taken right to the NICU, so I wasn't able to spend any time with her.  This experience was totally different.

Emma is such a good big sister!  She loves holding and kissing Alyx =)

We were suppose to be released from the hospital on Thursday.  However, Thursday morning when our doctor came in, he said Alyx's jaundice levels were on the high side.  So we stayed Thursday into Friday so she could spend 24 hours under the billi lights.  Friday morning, her levels were much better and they released us!  I was so excited to finally get back home =)

She did awesome on the 15 minute car ride home.  Not a peep was heard out of her =)

I'm so glad to be at home finally with my baby girl.  She is such an amazing blessing to our family.  Emma is in love with her, and such a huge help.  She LOVES helping to feed her and change her diaper.  I'm still recovering from my c-section.  And probably will be for a while.  Thankfully I have an amazing hubby who has been waiting on me hand and foot, and some amazing friends and family who have dropped off dinner and snacks for us.

Today we had a newborn photo shoot.  I cannot wait to see the photos!  We also had some done of Miss Emma.  The photographer came right to our house and did them, so it was so nice not to even have to leave the house.  I'm going to be stalking Facebook until she posts some sneak peeks of the photos =)

Being a mom again to another little girl after 7 years has definitely been an adjustment.  But I wouldn't trade it for the world.  Alyx is amazing.  So far she has slept so well at night.  Usually up every 4 hours or so.  I hope I haven't just jinxed myself! haha

One last photo for today =)

The time has come!!

Alyx doesn't want to wait until her due date of 11/12 =)  She will be making her appearance tomorrow morning 11/05 around 7:30ish am!!  We had a doctors appointment today and an ultrasound, and my fluid levels were extremely low, and the doctor said we probably shouldn't wait any longer.  He was really reassuring about the repeat c-section (which I am beyond nervous about).  Last time around with Emma I had an emergency c-section and then she was rushed off to the NICU.  So we are hoping and praying for a healthy delivery and that everything with Alyx is just fine!!  It might be a while before I update my blog again, a few days anyway.   But I will update everyone as soon as I can!  Can't wait to meet our baby girl!!! =)

Our last picture as a family of 3 =)

Why i've been MIA

So.  Yeah, i've been MIA for about a week now.  I haven't even got caught up on blogs that I read on a daily basis.  So here is why.

Monday I woke up and did not feel good at all.  Like nausea's and just really yucky feeling.  I ended up calling out of work sick.  And thankfully I had a doctors appointment already scheduled for 2:30 that afternoon.  We headed to the doc's, and my blood pressure was high, and there was a lot of "yucky" stuff in my urine as they put it.  They wanted me to head right over to the hospital after I left there and have a bunch of blood work done, and then wanted me back at the doctors office Tuesday morning at 8:00 am.

Tuesday came, and I felt worse.  I developed a horrible cough overnight, and was now vomiting a lot.  My blood pressure was still high at the office, they did a NST (non stress test) and everything with the baby looked fine.  Thank god!  So after that appointment, they said if anything changed, to make sure I gave them a call.

Wednesday morning I woke up and felt like I had been hit by a mack truck.  So I called them and they wanted me to come right in.   Blood pressure, still up.  Nausea & vomiting, still there.  I was certain they were going to admit me right then.  But they didn't.  The doctor explained to me, with this cold or virus that I have it would be more risky to deliver the baby.  So until I can get rid of this horrible crud I have, Alyx will need to stay put.  He gave me some meds for the cough, and put me on an antibiotic to hopefully clear up this sickness that I have.  Also he has put me out of work until I deliver.  So that means I don't go back to work now until February!  Yesterday, Thursday, was the only day I didn't see the doctor.  I did go today, they checked my BP, which is still high, and told me to get lots and lots of rest.  My mother in law took Emma for the night for me, and Brian is working so I see lots of sleep in my future tonight.

So basically at this point i'm praying that I start to feel better asap, and that everything continues to be healthy for Alyx.  I go back on Monday afternoon for an ultrasound and another appointment with my doctor and hopefully i'm feeling better by then!  And hopefully the BP issues are because i've been sick.

Tomorrow I will update you all on our Halloween!  Which I have to say was super uneventful since it was a complete downpour here =(.  We made the best of it though!!

Baby Update {37 Weeks}

Due Date? November 12, 2013 – 11/12/13 =)

How far along? 37 Weeks & 2 days! 2 Weeks and 5 days left!  OH MY!!!!!!

Size of baby?  According to the pregnancy app on my phone, Alyx should be around the size of a Watermelon right now.  Approx 6 ½ pounds

Gender? Alyx Grace...Girl =)

Weight gain? Lost again this week!

Maternity Clothes? Ohh yes.  Nothing but maternity clothes.  In fact, I would LOVE to stay in Yoga type pants all day everyday at this point.
Food Cravings? Chinese.  Haha

Movement? Still getting quite a bit of movement.  Although it’s more painful movement at this point.  I think she is just running out room so I’m getting kicked in the ribs a lot, and a foot keeps kicking me in my side. =)

Labor signs? None at all!

Belly button in or out? In

What I miss? I’m ready for a good nights sleep.  I miss sleep on my stomach so badly!  I also really miss wearing my wedding rings.  I have taken them off because of a little swelling in my hands.  But the swelling in my feet the past 2 weeks has been terrible!!

Looking forward to? Oh my gosh…I can’t wait to meet this little peanut!!!  Emma is beyond excited as well…And Brian too of course!! =)
***********************************************************************
So now that I can relax because the bedroom situation with Emma and the baby have been figured out, painted and decorated {If you missed that post click here}.  I still have a few things that need to be done.  I NEED to pack a hospital bag this weekend.  That's something I never had the opportunity do when I was pregnant with Emma.  I went to a normal baby appointment, and was told I was being admitted to the hosptial asap.  Brian went home and packed me a bag!  He did a good job too =)  So Saturday, I have to get that done.  I also want to get the stroller put together, and the carseat put in my car.  The pack and play needs to be put together as well.  And somewhere in there we need to make a trip to Sweet Frog which opened today, for some frozen yogurt! haha =)
My mom bought Alyx and outfit to come home in, and I absolutely love it.  However...Emma and I have been have a big disagreement in this area! LOL  She has picked something out for Alyx, and is adamit that Alyx wear it as her coming home outfit.  I'm probably going to give in and let her have her way in this.  =)
And speaking of Emma...she is feeling much better!  She hasn't been to school since Monday, but she is going tomorrow!  =)

Sorry for a completely pictureless post...but I have no other pictures to share tonight!
