Thoughts for Thursday

Hello!  And Happy Thursday!  Since it's Thursday I am linking with with Annie & Natalie for Thoughts for Thursday =)

So tonight I am trying a new recipe out, and I can't wait to try it.  Yesterday while reading my daily blogs I read, I came across a recipe that Lizzie from This Happy Life, posted.  Chicken Taquitos.  We love mexican food, and Emma requested the other day that some night this week we have Mexican.  So this recipe came at just the right time =)  And since I haven't made them yet, i'm borrowing this picture to show you.

We ran errands yesterday and Alyx was in a GREAT mood.  So we had to take a selfie of course =)

Alyx is so funny, she always wants to have her nails painted.  Like always!  If she even sees a bottle of nail polish, she must have them painted asap!  haha  She is such a girly girl it's not even funny!

Right now I am in between books.  Anyone have any good recommendations?  I'm thinking maybe The Choice by Nicholas Sparks.  Have any of you ladies read it yet?

That's all I've got today!  I hope you all have a great Thursday =)

What's Up Wednesday

Happy Wednesday!  Today I am linking up with Mel, Shay & Shaeffer for What's Up Wednesday!  It's been quite a while since I have done one of these posts =)

What we're eating this week:
I am really really bad at meal planning.  I need to get into a groove I guess as far as meal planning goes and maybe I can get it to work.  But last night I came home from work to a home cooked meal from Brian and it was delish!

Salmon, green beans with red onions, and rice pilaf.  He's a pretty great cook!!

What I'm Reminiscing about:
No snow! ha!  I know so much of you in the south have had it worse than we have in the snow department.  We have the equipment here to clean up snow basically as soon as it falls, so I feel really bad for all you that have been stuck in your homes now for days because of it.  But yeah, i'm reminiscing about green grass, trees with leaves on them and warm sunshine ;)

What I'm Loving:
Watching Emma play basketball.  She had her last game last weekend and she actually missed it because we were at my parents for the weekeend.  But she still has 3 weekend long tournaments that she is playing in, so I'm anxious to watch her play in them!

What We've Been Up To:
Ummm.  Let me think about this one.  Work.  Ha!  We work a lot.  Brian much more than me.  But you can read about our weekend off HERE in this post.  We had an awesome weekend!

What I'm dreading:
There is really nothing coming up that I am dreading.  I do dread laundry every.single.day. hehe =)  But other than that, really nothing.

What I'm working On:
Filling out my Plum Paper planner!  I'm working on putting our work schedules for the remainder of the year in it.  And incase you missed my post about my planner, you can find that HERE.

What I'm Excited About:
We are going away for the weekend with the girls and my side of the family the first weekend in February and I cannot wait!  We usually go every year, and Emma always has so much fun with her cousins =)

What I'm listening to/Watching:
If we are in the car, it's always always on The Highway on SirusXM.  At home, i'm all about the Bachelor right now, HGTV's Fixer Upper (which I am highly addicted to) and the Today Show on NBC =)

What I'm wearing:
I really wish I had some really awesome outfit I could share with you all, Ha!  But when i'm home, it's usually comfy clothes, and when I'm out and about, jeans, some sort of long sleeve shirt and my LLBean boots.  Total fashion statement for sure! haha ;)

What I'm doing this weekend:
Work, and more work.  It's our weekend to work unfortunately.

What I'm looking forward to next month:
I'm looking forward to going away next month for a weekend, i'm also looking forward to getting Emma ready for the Father/Daughter Valentines Day dance with Brian =)

Bonus Question:
What is your favorite Valentines Day Treat:
I'm not going to share the recipe just yet, because I have that ready for another day soon, but for Valentines I always make Emma a really yummy popcorn treat with white chocolate.  I'll post about it soon =)

I hope you all have a great Wednesday!!  Be sure to linkup as well!

Tuesday Talk

Hi!!  Happy Tuesday!  We got past Monday, and here we are!  I'm linking up again today with some great bloggers for Tuesday Talk.  If you've not joined in on this linkup, I think you should =)

Our Pretty Little Girls

We had a really really great weekend.  When Brian isn't working his full time job, he has 2 other part time jobs at a couple of police departments.  One of them being the pd in the town my parents live in.  So whenever he works up there, we go with him and spend the night.  Saturday afternoon/night he had to work there, so we packed up and headed with him.  Emma was able to get together with my cousins two kids, Owen and Madison and they had SO much FUN!!

My cousin and her husband took the kids ice-fishing for the afternoon on Saturday.  I would have gone with them, but I didn't bring any of my outdoor winter clothing with me.

And look what Emma caught!!!  Her first trout while ice fishing :)  She was so excited!  My cousins husband cleaned it and we brought it home with us and had it for dinner last night.  It was really good, and Emma was pretty proud of herself :)

They ended up catching 5 total.  These 3 kiddos get along so well, and I wish we lived closer so we could get together more often.  Meanwhile, Alyx stayed at my parents house and stayed warm....

And snacked on whoopie pies while playing with Gunner and my dad =)

Sunday we headed home in the morning so we could be home in time to see our NE Patriots lose the game =(  Oh well, there is always next year!  Emma played outside while we watched the game.

And my favorite picture

I just love this picture of Emma =)  I think I'm going to get it done on a canvas to hang up in the winter!

Again linking up the ladies from Tuesday Talk today!  I hope you all have a great day!!

Let's Talk

I hope you all had a great weekend!  We most certainly had an excellent weekend, and tomorrow I will recap on it =)  Today I am linking up with Andrea from Momfessionals and Erika from A Little Bit of Everything for their new Monthly linkup, let's talk.

Today's topic is resolutions, goals, and what you're looking forward to.  At the beginning of this month I shared my goals.  You can find that post HERE.  I really didn't make any resolutions this year because honestly, I hate making them and then never following through with them.  So this year was all about goals for me.  My main goal was to get Organized.  With Emma in school, Me working full time, Brian working full time plus 2 part time jobs on the side, and Alyx in daycare, I am constantly feeling like I don't know where everyone is.  I know it sounds crazy, but with all of Emma's extracurricular activities, it's all been so hard to keep track of.  I came to the conclusion at the end of last year that I needed a paper planner to help me stay more organized.

I decided to go with the Plum Paper Planner.  I had looked at the Erin Condren planners, and loved them, but I just couldn't bring myself to pay the price of an EC.  So Plum Paper it was!

I loved that the cover was very customizable!  It looks more goldish in the picture, but it's more of a mustardy yellow.

Inside pages.

I really love how it's set up by morning, afternoon & evening.

These planners are really easy to customize.  Although I went with the Regular Planner, it came with the Password pages, My Contacts page, Holiday Page, and each section has 2 pages of notes with it.  I also paid to have an extra notes section, and honestly I'm not really sure I am going to need it.  And one thing that I didn't notice they had until after I had placed my order was they have a "Blog" add on.  It looks really neat and would have been super helpful, but I can use my notes section for that =)

So my goal for 2016 was to get Organized.  And I think with this planner I am well on my way!  I've only had it for about a week now, but so far I am loving it and would definitely recommend it.

And as far as what I am looking forward to, well planning our Family trip in December =)  We are going to Florida again and yes, driving again!  We still have many many months before we leave, but it is fun to plan.  So far we are planning on staying at the same place we did last year, but if you have any recommendations on condos/resorts, I would love to hear about them!

Have a great Monday!  And be sure to linkup as well for Let's Talk, here are the dates/topics for the coming year =)
