Friday Favorites

First off, I really felt like I needed to post about Dallas and the shooting last night.  What is going on in this country is just mind boggling to me.  I don't understand it in the least bit.  Being the wife of a police officer I can't begin to imagine what the officers families are going through.

Happy Friday, Friends!  The weekend is almost here.  As long as I can get through today, i'm off for the next 2 days =)  Linking up today with Narci, Andrea and Erika =)

Our highlight from the week was definately the time spent at my parents for the 4th of July.  We had so much fun!!

You can find my post about it HERE.

The last couple of weeks I planted a ton of perennials around our house.  I'm not sure why it took me so long to do this.  Every year I spent hundreds of dollars for flowers that die within 3-4 months.  But now they will come back every year, and that makes me happy =)  One that I planted are lupines, and I am so excited to see that they are blooming finally.

I planted several different colors, but so far the purple/blue are the only ones that are in bloom.  I'm excited to see the rest of them =)

This week we are finally sitting down to make some reservations for our trip that's coming up in a few months!

Dining reservations and our resort reservations =)  Just a tad bit excited!!  Any recommendations on dining reservations we should do?!?

Just a friendly reminder to join Heather and myself on July 20th for our recipe club linkup!

The third Wednesday of every month and be sure to link up with us =)

Lastly, I hope you all have a great weekend!!!

Linking up  Karli and Amy for, oh hey Friday!

Also linking up with Liz, Christina, Natasha, and Darci for, 5 on Friday

And lastly, linking up with Katie, Tiff, Della and Caitlin for, High Five for Friday

  1. I can't imagine what police families are feeling right now. It's such a tragic situation.

  2. Hearts breaking for sure today! Thinking of all those hurting.

Love your flowers - I am SO not good at landscaping...could use some tips!! We really enjoyed Chef Mickey on our first trip, but this past trip not so much. My two favorites this time were in Epcot - the pizza place in Italy (which you can usually walk in pretty easily) and the Hibachi Grill in Japan. YUM!!!

  3. I feel like our country is on the verge of a civil war. So scary. I'm so excited that you get to go to Disney - I love it there!

  5. Johannah- I am right there with as far as feeling completely mind boggled and speechless about what happened in Dallas as well as the current state of affairs in general. I am staying steadfast with prayers for everyone hurting from all of the recent tragedies.
So glad it was such a fun time at your parents' house on the 4th- there is nothing better than being with family!! Hope you have a great weekend friend!

  6. I'm with you...I just don't understand the state our country has fallen to. These poor innocent families who are suffering from loss today, just heartbreaking.
We had talked about going to Disney this year before we found out I was pregnant...you all will have so much fun! Love that place!

  7. We also spent the 4th of July away at my parent's house. It's always a fun time! Looks like you guys had a great 4th. I plant a few bulbs every spring but should also start planting perennials as well. I love that you plant once and they bloom every year! Ooh, Disney, how fun and exciting! I'd recommend Akershus at Epcot so you can see many of the princesses. We've done character breakfasts at Tusker House (Animal Kingdom) and Chef Mickey's which were both good. If you are looking for great food, and not necessarily characters, some of our favorites were Boma (Animal Kindgdom Lodge), Ohana (at the Polynesian), Biergarten (Epcot), Cape May (Beach Club) and Whispering Canyon Cafe (Wilderness Lodge)!
