Happy Monday Friends! I hope you all had a great weekend! Be sure to linkup with myself, Heather, Tanya and Lindsay and share your Monday post =)
We are officially on Summer break! Emma's last day of 7th grade was Thursday. I cannot believe this coming school year will be her last year of Middle School and then she will be in High School! How on earth did that happen so quickly?!?!
Thursday before I got out of work Brian called me and told me that Alyx had opened our cupboard in the kitchen where I keep our big appliances i.e. the crockpot, instant pot and air fryer. Well the Air fryer fell out and landed right on her foot. He said it instantly bruised and I thought for sure she broke something.
It looked pretty bad, but she was tough. She kept ice on it most of the night and thankfully woke up the next morning feeling better.
Friday we spent the morning/early afternoon running errands. We headed out from our house shortly before 3 for a 1 1/2 hour car ride to Belgrade for a softball tournament Emma's team was playing in. We were suppose to play just Saturday, but they sprung a Friday night game on us last minute.
Emma slept most of the way there.
She pitched the second half of the game, and did really well. The team they played...well...they didn't have very good sportsmanship, and were a nasty team to play. Some of their plays were just down right dirty.
They lost, 3-11. Our girls played really well for never playing a team quite like this one.
After the game the girls coach suggested we all do dinner together at IHop.
The girls were so funny, and I honestly think they were louder at times than a group of boys! ha!!
We didn't get out of there until almost 9:30, and then had over an hour drive home.
Saturday morning we again were up and bright early to head back to the Tournament. Again, Emma slept all the way there :)
These girls played SO hard! Their first game was at 11:00. And they won. They had another game at 2:30, and they won that one. And then their last game of the day was at 5:00, and they lost to a team from Canada. It was a double elimination, and since they lost Friday nights game and then the last one of the day Saturday, they were out. But they played like we had never seen them play before. They finally got into a groove with each other and did so awesome!
There was a lot of downtime in between games, and they all had a good time.
Alyx is like the mascot of the team. They all love her so much, and I just love that =)
After the games were over, most all of us went to Red Robin for dinner. Thankfully this time they sat us outside away from the rest of the patrons! HA!
It was one of the girls Birthdays, so they sang and gave her a sundae.
And while we were eating the sun was setting and it was absolutely gorgeous.
It was bright orange, so pretty.
We had the best weekend and already can't wait for the next tournament in a couple of weeks.
