Weekend Recap

First off, i'm going to start out with this...

It's Monday.  Normally I truly don't mind Mondays.  But this is very much a Monday.  Here's why.

We have been without power at our house since 7:30 pm last night.  And our power company has no idea at this point when it will be restored.  You really don't know how much you appreciate electricity, especially in the winter until you are without it.  The girls and I had a chilly night at our house, but thankfully my in-laws had their generator going around 3 this morning, so at 4am we were at their house getting warm!  Hopefully it comes back on today!!

So our weekend.  Saturday morning I had a few errands to run, and Alyx was NOT having it.

She quickly came out of it though and fell asleep =)
Saturday evening we just stayed home and watched the movie "Home".  Very cute movie for kids!

Sunday morning, was basketball!

These girls on this team are amazing.  They are such a great group of girls that have created a bond that I hope lasts forever.  They are just a really good group of girls.  And they won their game!  So far they are undefeated this season!
Alyx enjoyed most of the game on Brians shoulders =)

Oh to be a kid again!

Sunday afternoon Emma wanted to bake.  For Christmas I got her the American Girl Doll Baking set  and cookbook, so she made a cake!

She made a chocolate cake with a peppermint frosting/icing.

She is a great cook!!!
I hope you all have a great Monday!!!

  1. Oh Johannah!! I am SO sorry about you guys losing power!!! A couple years ago, on the coldest day of the winter, when we were living in Cleveland, our heater went out. That was FUN. We also had power go out several times- always of course when it was freezing! You definitely realize how spoiled we are when it happens!! Love Emma's apron! I got each of my girls an apron for part of their Valentine's present- they love to bake too! :) Hope power goes back on ASAP and you have a good rest of your week!!

  2. Oh my gosh!!! I hope by the time you're reading this you have your power restored! I can only imagine how not fun that has been. :(

Wow!! Emma is awesome in the kitchen! Can you send her my way to whip up some goodies??

  3. Is your power back on??? I can't imagine having it go off during this cold time of year! I'm thankful that you have your in-laws right there so you could go over and warm up!

Have you guys watched the movie from American girl… It's with Grace and I can't remember exactly what it's called, but it has to do with baking. It's on Netflix. We watched it for our Friday night movie night, and we all really loved it!!! I know Emma would love it too!
