Goals {2016}

Happy first Monday of 2016!!  I hope you all had a great Christmas and New Year!  We had a very laid back New Years Eve this year since Brian and I had to work the next day.  None of us saw the ball drop, and I think that is the first time I haven't watched it in about 10 years!  I may have taped it though so Emma and I could watch it the next day, hehe =)
Today I'm focusing on my goals for 2016.  I really don't like the word resolution, So I haven't set any "resolutions" for 2016, but rather Goals.  My goal is pretty simple...well kind of...you'll see! ha!
So my goal for 2016 is to "Get Organized"!

My goal is to get Organized.  Not just me, but all of us and our home.  I feel like i'm always looking for something, and not remembering where I put it last.  I also feel like I have a hard time keeping track of all of Emma's school activities and sports.  I finally caved and ordered a PlumPaper planner and I'm hoping that this will keep me more organized.  It honestly can't get here soon enough ;)

So my number one thing that I struggle with, that is going to be my main goal is...

l.a.u.n.d.r.y

I feel like i'm always always always doing laundry.  And i'm sure most all of you feel the same way.  But I need to find a routine somehow so that it's not all piling up.  I could do laundry all day, but my biggest problem is getting it folded.
So yes, my goal is get more organized and figuring out a good routine for laundry.  What can you all share for tips and tricks?  What is your routine when it comes to laundry?  And how do you keep yourself, family and home organized??

I hope you all have a great Monday!!

  1. Happy New Year!! 6 months ago I would have said laundry is not a struggle for me...but now I totally agree! I feel like as soon as I empty the basket, it is full again. How does this happen!?!

  2. UGH. Laundry. It is never ending!!! I don't really have a great solution for it- but I do wash the kids clothes separate from Aaron and my clothes. I try to do at least a load of clothes (and maybe a load of towels) a day. My goal is to get it in the wash and in the dryer by the time I leave the house in the morning- and then folded and put away in the afternoon evening. I usually put our clothes away once the kids have showered and are watching their show before bed. My oldest daughter will hang up her own clothes and that is a big help! While it seems like I am always doing laundry, doing one load a day keeps it small and manageable and pretty quick to put away!! GOOD LUCK!!! :)

  3. I do all our laundry on one day. I'm not sure if this is doable for you but let me say, this means it gets done and put away and then there are 6 other days of the week that you don't have to worry about it one bit.

    1. I sooo wish I could do it once a week. But with my husband and all of his uniforms, Emma and her basketball stuff...way too much. I'm jealous that you can get it done on one day though and then have the remainder of the week with no laundry!!

  5. I'm with you on goals rather than resolutions! I'm working on finding a word that I want to encompass 2016. It's proven to be more challenging that I thought.

    I'm with you on the laundry! I feel like just when I've gotten everything washed, dried, and put away Scott comes home from work and dumps an entire new load into the dirty laundry basket. It's never ending! I do try to do the kids clothes on one day and our clothes on a different day. I know it's more days of laundry, but it breaks it up from having to do it ALL in one day. When that happens a load ALWAYS ends up in the dryer for at least 24 hours, and we just hit the "freshen up" button until we absolutely need something that's in the dryer. Ha. Oops....
