hello Monday

Hello! Happy Monday =)  We are in the middle of a snow blizzard here in the Northeast, so today is going to consist of staying inside and not going out at all.  Let's recap the weekend a bit!

Friday evening we went to a birthday party for our friends little girl who just turned 2!  Alyx had an amazing time and when we got home she immediately crashed.  She was definitely tuckered out.

Saturday I worked, but Saturday evening was the father/daughter Valentines Day dance.  Unfortunately Brian wasn't able to get the evening off from work to take Emma, but his dad stepped in as Emma's date.

She's so grown up!

We were able to get some pictures in before Brian left for work =)

Emma with Pop and her 2 cousins.
Emma had so much fun.  She said she danced and danced =)  They also went out for dinner.

Yesterday we worked all day.  And last night we watched the movie, Trolls about 10 times.  And then Emma picked the movie, Middle School-The Worst Years of my Life.  I think the next day or so is going to be all about staying home and watching movies.

I saw this on facebook last night, and laughed.

Oh so true.  Like I mentioned, we are in the middle of a big snowstorm.  We are suppose to get close to 30 inches of snow.  I'm not exactly looking forward to it.  So far we probably have 12-14 inches.  Plus the wind is insane.  I stopped at the grocery store last night to get just a couple of things, and this was the meat area.

Nothing.  No hamburg, chicken, pork or steak.  It was insane!!

I hope you all have a great Monday!  I will see you back here tomorrow =)

We've had a really good week here.  We started the week with a Superbowl win for our Patriots!  And what makes me even more excited...

52 days now until opening day for the Red Sox.  We love us some Red Sox, and cannot wait to go to a game this spring/summer =)

I had a work meeting the other day and I stopped at Starbucks and tried their new molten chocolate latte....ahh-mazing.

It's not too too sweet which I loved.
And the nail polish is the polish I received from the swap.  You can find that post HERE

Yesterday there was no school because of a snowstorm.  I woke up in the morning and it wasn't snowing at all.  It didn't start until almost noon time, so we were able to get out of the house and go to lunch.

Pizza and waffle fries.  Odd combo, but they are so good =)

Emma and I love to watch Fixer Upper.  It's probably our favorite show.
The other night we settled in with hot cocoa and wine and watched.  I got the wine...she got the hot cocoa ;)

We got a lot of snow yesterday and last night.  The dog didn't even want to go outside in it.

He preferred to lay on my lap and look out the window all day long instead=)

I hope you all have a great weekend.  It's my weekend to work, so there won't be a lot of fun going on around here.  See you all Monday =)

Also linking up today with:

Also linking up with Liz, Christina, and Natasha

Workin' It Wednesday {Keeping Your Marriage Strong}

Happy Wednesday everyone!  Today I am linking up with Shay and Erika for their series, Workin' it Wednesday.  Today we are sharing how we make our marriages work =)

First off, marriages aren't easy.  I think every marriage goes through their ups and downs.  They are something that you both have to work at.  It's not a one way street if you will.
Brian and I have a fairly unique marriage.  We work complete opposite hours so we see each other very little several days in a row.  Maybe that's why our marriage has worked out so well?!?! haha  just kidding!!

Brian and I met in 2004.  Started dating in February 2005, engaged in December 2005, and thennnnn found out we were pregnant in February 2006.  Things moved really quickly for us.  And to add to that Emma was born 2 months early and that put a lot of pressure on us as a couple.  It was difficult.  We have found the biggest key to our marriage is communicating with each other.  Brian and I literally talk about everything.  There isn't anything I keep from him.  He's not just my husband, he's my best friend.  No decisions are made without communicating with each other first.

One thing we need to work on more is having more one on one time with each other.  This has always been a difficult area for us.  I think it's because we rely on our parents to watch our girls during our crazy work hours, that we feel guilty asking them to watch them on our days off so we can have date nights.  We do manage to get out every once in a while, but it's something we both feel needs to happen more often.  But we do enjoy our evenings together after the girls have gone to bed =)

Like I said, our marriage isn't perfect, it's far from it.  But I honestly can not imagine going through this life with anyone else by my side.

Nail Polish Exchange {Reveal}

Happy Tuesday =)  Today myself, Heather, Justine and Jennifer are linking up together and showing off our nail polish goodies from our swap.  So if you joined us in this swap, be sure to link up today =)

I love these swaps =)  And I am so thankful that Heather, Justine and Jennifer co-hosted along with me.  I cannot wait to see what everyone received.

I was paired up with Erica from Second House on the Right.  I've "known" Erica for quite a while now and she is so incredibly sweet.  She and her husband just welcomed twin girls into their family!  The girls are absolutely adorable, and just turned 4 months old =)  You need to check out her blog to see those cute girlies!!
So Erica rocked this swap!

There really is nothing more fun than coming home and finding a package on the doorstep.  Especially when you know it's just for you!!

Erica wrapped it up sooo cute!
The polishes Erica picked for me really couldn't have been any more me!

I mentioned to Erica that I was on the hunt for the perfect darker berry color.  This OPI Miami Beet is perfection!  And this dark grey...LOVE!!

Erica didn't stop there.  I told you guys, she is the sweetest, and she sent my girls a little something as well =)

Emma got a bag with a note that said to Emma but apparently I forgot to take a picture of it...whoops!

To say they were excited is an understatment!!!

They each got 2 bottles of nail polish
and a sheet of nail stickers!

So so fun!  Alyx immediately needed her nails painted.  She got nail stickers that have doughnuts on them and she wanted them put on her thumbs =)

Thank you again Erica for everything!!  Make sure to check Erica's blog to see what we sent her =)

If you joined in on this swap...link up below =)
Have a great Tuesday!
