What's Up Wednesday

Happy Wednesday Friends!  Today I am linking up with Shay, Mel & Sheaffer with What's Up Wednesday!
I'm pretty sure this is the first Wednesday I have linked up with them!

So let's start off with, What we're eating this week!

This is a new favorite in our house! If you like chicken and you like pineapple...you have to try this recipe!!

What I'm reminiscing about this week...

Our Disney trip.  Yes, the one I still haven't blogged about.  Haha  I'm more than ready to go back!!

What I'm loving.

Summer vacation.  Sleeping in.  Yes!  Well, obviously I can't sleep in on days that I'm working but days that I am off I don't have to wake either of the girls up, and it's great!

What We've been Up to...

We've been playing outside a lot!  Brian finally repainted Emma's playset, and Alyx just loves it!

Emma had her last day of 3rd grade.  I may have cried a little bit!!  It was pajama day the last day!

I sent Emma to school with a beach bag for her teacher.  It was full of lots of funny goodies for her awesome teacher she had this year!

Alyx had her well child check up the other day.  She's growing great and had 4 shots.  She really disliked those!

What I'm excited about...
Day trips this summer.  We plan to do several of them.  We're hoping to get to the ocean a few times and a couple of other places.  Maybe even a Red Sox game!  =)

What' I'm listening to...
Well right now I'm at work so I'm listening to police officers chat in my ear! ha!

What's I'm doing this weekend...

We are going to camp!  And we're definitely looking forward to it!  A nice day of relaxing and some swimming!!

And What else are we are up to....

Emma spent last weekend at my parents house.  She was finally able to go swimming!

Father's Day came a couple of days late this year.  But I think it was worth the wait.

I bought Brian a new Explorer.  He better remember this come next Mother's Day! Hehehe =)

Emma has basketball camp all week this week.  She LOVES it.  And it's been great exercise for her too!

Alyx LOVES to watch Brian mow the lawn and gets SOOO excited when Brian drives by on the mower.

My grandmothers banana bread recipe.  I miss her terribly.  But this reminds me of her.  The one on the left has chocolate chips in it, and it is really yummy!

So there you have it for my What's Up Wednesday!!

Update =)

Wow!  It's been a crazy long time since I blogged.  So this morning, i'm actually going to sit down and recap a lot of what's been going on around here!  Be prepared for lots of pictures!!

Emma officially has 3 1/2 more days of school left until Summer break!!  She is beyond excited!  But she is also really quite sad, because she has absolutely loved her teacher this year =)

So let's see...what have we been up to?  Well, lots and lots of softball!

Emma is on a really great team, with some pretty amazing girls.  And they are all really nice girls, and thankfully all got along great!!

We've spent a couple of nights at the park.  Alyx loves it, but hates to swing!  Last year she LOVED to swing!!

Alyx is also enjoys playing "babies" at home.  She loves her bitty baby.  Carries her around everywhere and it always loving on her and feeding her.

Emma participated in Glee Club at school, and she sooo loved it!  The finaly day of Glee they put on a performance for the parents.  They danced and sang to Uptown Funk, and it was really good!

We've been kind of addicted to Mexican food lately.  Well, I have anyway!  And I have a new obsession with guacamole.  People it's bad!  I make it usually like 3 times a week.

If you want my recipe, here you go: 2 ripe avocados.  1 lime zested and squeezed onto the avocados.  Then I mash it with a potato masher.  I like mine chunkier and not smooth.  1 tomato diced and deseeded.  1 small red onion finely diced.  And a little cilantro finely chopped.  That's it.  Quick and super easy!  But oh so good =)

We also made chiopotle bowls at home one night.  And I think it will be on the menu this week again at home.  They were really good!

We've done lots of snuggling at home, Alyx spent a couple of days at home not feeling well at all.

We even ran into a snowstorm one day!

My Dad and I had dinner one night while I was home at their house.  It was nice to go out just the 2 of us.

Maine lobster rolls and a can of Moxie.  Doesn't get much better!

We went to our towns Memorial Day parade and managed to get a fairly decent picture of the 4 of us =)

Alyx loves the hose.  She thinks it's her personal water bottle.

More evenings of softball!

Alyx's godmother was home from Florida, and we were able to meet her at the airport before her flight home to say goodbye!!

A lot of evenings have been spent outside playing with chalk =)

We were able to score 4 free tickets to Lady Antebellum and Hunter Hayes!  It was such a great concert!

we took the Emma's with us.  They are both in love with Mr Hunter Hayes ;)

Emma had her very last Softball game the other day for the season.  She enjoyed it so much, and learned a lot as well.  I think Brian, excuse me, Coach Brian, had just as much fun as the kids!  The last day they ended it with a bbq and awards.

She'll be ready for Softball next year!!!

Lastly, yesterday we painted.  And can I just say, What a mess!!  Haha  But they had so much fun.  Alyx LOVES to paint!  When she first got some paint on her, she was really upset.  But she quickly got over that!

Emma painted a flower pot, and both the girls painted a rock.  I was going to put their rocks out on our front porch, but Emma saw our elderly neighbor outside and really wanted to give it to her.  And she loved it, so i'm glad Emma gave it to her =)

So there's an update of what's been going on around here lately.  I'm going to do my best to blog more since Emma will be out of school.  I hope to be doing a lot of fun things with the girls this summer! =)  Happy Monday!!!

How about an update!

I cannot believe I still haven't blogged all about our Disney trip!  In the next couple of days, I will get on that.  I will tell you all that we had a blast!!!  If you follow me on Instagram, or if we're friends on Facebook, you saw my million updates daily.  But for those that haven't...the pictures are coming soon! This morning when my alarm went off at 4:30 to head to work, this is how I was feeling.

*Sigh*  I so miss Disney and everything about it.  I've been wearing my new Alex & Ani bracelet daily to remind me of the most Magical place on Earth =)

The weather has actually been really nice since being home.  We have had a few chilly days here and there, but overall it's been great!  We have gone for lots of walks/bike rides/scooter rides.

This coming week we plan to get our yard work all done around the house.  I'll tell you long winters in Maine do a number on your yards.  Especially with the large town snow plows.  They tore up the front of our lawn pretty good.  It's pretty frustrating, but we'll get it all fixed up!

Alyx continues to make me laugh on a daily basis!  She is so funny.  But she also has quite the little attitude!

The girls had Mac & Cheese the other day for lunch, and Alyx insisted on a "poon" and a fork but then ate with her hands.  And she shoveled it into her mouth with her hands.  She's a riot!

Mothers day was this past Sunday.  I had to work =(  But we made the best of it!  Emma made me the cutest little thing at school.

I love in her letter she wrote that she doesn't want me to work.  I kept telling Brian, see the girls want me home during the day.  He didn't fall for it and said I still have to work! HA! =)

Emma started Softball last night!  She's been really excited about it.  They don't have team names, they just got by color.  She's on the "Red" team.  They got shirts last night and just basically learned the basics.  And guess who the coach of her team is?  Brian.  Yup!  She's pretty excited about it.  And Brian is actually really excited about it too.  He's a huge baseball fan.  He played baseball all through high school, and has played on adult softball leagues as well. I think it's good for both of them!!

Emma was up to bat.  Just to practice though.

It was really fun last night watching them!  They have a game on Saturday.  Emma is excited, but nervous.  She'll be fine though!
Alyx had fun watching Emma too.  Although she may have been a bit of a distraction.  Alyx kept yelling, "Emmmmaaaaaa!" LOL

Brian sent me this picture of Emma this morning before school.  I think she looked pretty darn cute =)

So that's my update for now!  Like I said...Disney post is coming soon!!! =)

Mother's Day Mom Exchange Box

Hello All!!  I am back from vacation!!  But before I post all about our trip, today i'm here to share what I received from the Mother's Day Mom Exchange I participated in!

This was a fun exchange. I was paired with Kristen from Rainbowtized.  I felt really really bad because I had her box set out to mail before vacation, and I totally forgot it.  So when we returned I sent it right out, so unfortunately Kristen will be getting hers a little late, but I hope she loves it!!

So onto my box.  I received a box from Jess at Being Mrs Beer.  She sent me some really great stuff!!!

I *love* me some Essie nail polish!!  And these colors are perfect for summer!!

And since Jess follows me on Instagram, she knows my love for Starbucks!  Perfect!!

And I just love this magnet!

She also included these fizzy tub sesame street tabs for the girls bath!  They are going to love them! =)

And I just had to do my nails as soon as I got the box!

I think this is my new favorite nail color!  Thanks Jess for the great gifts!!  And Thank you to The Chronicles of We, Chasin Mason & Sweet Turtle Soup for hosting another great swap!!
