Random Friday

It's official.  I'm an Instagram aholic.  =)  I never knew what all the hype was until just recently.  I'm addicted.  I love looking at other peoples photos on there as well.  So if you are on Instagram, send me your name or what not so I can start following you!  So far I have 2 people that i'm following! haha =)

Today Emma had school, I woke up at 7:00 so I had 45 minutes to get her ready.  She made it to school on time! =)  She is becoming a big girl now in the mornings at school!  I used to have to park the car in the parking lot, get out and walk her down by her classroom.  Well now she wants to be dropped off at the "drop off zone" and walk into the school by herself.  I was a little apprehensive about this at first, but she does great.  And what I absolutely love about her school is the principle and vice principle both do bus duty and drop off duty in the mornings and afternoons!  When I dropped her off this morning her Principle yelled "Hi Emma!" to her =)  Her school is amazing.  She goes to a pretty large Elementary school and the fact that the Principle takes the time to learn the kids names, says a lot about who she is.  She is an unbeliveably awesome Principle =)   Anway, I woke up with an annoying headache this morning.  So when I got home I went back to bed.  You know what time I woke up?  1:50 in the afternoon!  Holy moly!  I couldn't believe it.  I hurried and Brian and I went and picked Em up from school.  After that we went to the dreaded grocery store.  $160.00 later, we left.  Ugghhh that makes me sick to my stomach.  And I really feel like we didn't get a whole lot.  BUT...I was really excited when I found these in the freezer section

We LOVE Checkers, but there are none at all in Maine.  I'm not even sure where the closest one is.  We plan to have these same night soon with homemade chicken tenders =)

Emma had gymnastics tonight.  I really cannot believe how good she is doing.  I don't want to sound like i'm bragging, but she's doing amazing.  I have the best time watching her =)

She is still having a hard time pulling herself up on the bars, but she's working on it.  Once she gets up there she can flip herself around pretty darn good!  I wish I were able to do this!!! haha

We ended the night by making our favorite pizza.  Chicken Ranch Pizza.  Premade pizza crust, with homemade ranch dressing, covered in Pizza cheese and shredded chicken!

It's really good!  When Brian is home we usually make one with the chicken tossed in Buffalo sauce.

Today was the first day it didn't rain in I don't know how long!  Tomorrow a cousin of mine asked me to take some photos of her son for her =)  But guess what, it's suppose to rain.  So we'll see.  Happy Friday!!!! =)

Insta-Thursday =)

I think the post is usually Insta-Friday on most blogs, but i'm changing it for mine and making it Insta-Thursday because I really don't have much to post today!  I may or may not have a slight addiction to Instagram, now that i'm the owner of a Smart phone =)  So I tend to take a lot of photos with it, and since I took quite a few today, i'm going to share!

So the morning started off by getting Miss Emma ready and off to school.  Then Brian and I had a breakfast date at a local restaurant.  I couldn't resist ordering this amazing cinnamon roll for my breakfast =)

There was probably 18,000 calories in this, but I have to say I enjoyed it.  And I did share a little with Brian =)

We came home and I hung out watching the Today Show for a bit.  With a puppy on my lap =)

After picking Emma up from school this afternoon, Brian had to leave for work.  So she and I headed to Target to get a few things.  I ended up with a new sweatshirt, and we got a box of the Boo-Berry cereal!  I used to LOVE this stuff as a kid and couldn't wait for Halloween to come around so we could buy it.  I think Emma likes it just as much as I did.

After Target, we headed to Starbucks.  Salted Carmel Hot Chocolate.  Yummy.  I have mentioned it a few times here, and if you haven't tried it.  You must!!

Emma loves to get hot chocolates at Starbucks.  She likes to pretend she's drinking coffee =)

After we had our "coffee" we headed to her school for our first parent teacher conference of the year.  Minus Brian since he had to work.  It went really well!  There are a few things she needs to work on with spelling, but other than that her teacher said she is very outgoing and smart.  Makes me super happy!  =)   Since that went well we headed to one of the restaurants in our town.  They have kids night every other Thursday, and they make a really big deal out of it.  You may remember 2 weeks ago was Pirate night.  Tonight was Super Hero night.  All the wait staff dressed up as super heros!  They did balloon animals, and then gave cupcakes out after dinner.  And 99 cent kids meals!  You really can't go wrong.  And the kids LOVE it!

Emma chose a balloon hat.  The balloon guy told her it was a tiara =)

Check out the cute cupcakes.  They are huge too!  They had all kinds of superhero cupcakes to choose from.  Em chose spiderman.

When we were getting ready to leave the restaurant it started to.....RAIN.  Yeah of course.  We can't go a single day for over a week now without rain.  I'm soooo over the rain it's not even funny.

Now we are home, 6:30 Emma has finished her homework for the night, is in her pajamas and hanging out watching a couple of shows before bed.  This momma is tired tonight!  I say now it's going to be an early night for me, but i'll probably end up staying up way late again =)

Picture Day =)

Of course it's still raining here.  I couldn't not put that in here you know.  And according to the local weather, it's going to rain a good portion of this week.  I'm very  much over the rain.  Fall is pretty much my favorite season, and I don't like it when everything is wet outside.  Ugghhh.  There, I am done my rant for this post! haha

So today was picture day at school!  I went through about 15 outfits for Emma.  Her only thing she said was, "I'm not wearing jeans" hehe =)  I finally decided on a pink plaid long shirt with a pair of brown leggings.  She looked pretty cute =)  I did take a picture, however it was raining, and I took the photo outside, she was all bundled up in a coat.

When I picked her up from school today I noticed she had something all over the front of her shirt.  My first thing I asked was if she had pictures before or after lunch.  Because it was obvious it was maple syrup from her lunch all over her shirt!  She told me she had her pictures done after lunch.  I was thinking why in the world would they do photos after lunch?  But then she finally thought about it a little more and said the pictures were done before lunch!  Pheeewwwww!! =)

This evening Emma went to her first birthday party for a friend without Brian or I being with her!  They were having supper and then cake and ice cream!  She was pretty excited about!  I'm anxious to hear all about it when she gets home! =)

The fall colds have hit our household hard core already.  I started coming down with mine on Thursday, and by Saturday night around 11pm I thought my head was going to just pop off.  I have been so congested and miserable.  This morning I had all I could do to get out of bed and get Emma ready for school.  But as of tonight, i'm starting to feel a little better =)

Hope everyone enjoys their Monday evening! =)

Go Away --- RAIN!!!!

It has been raining here for what seems like forever.  I'm so bummed.  We had been planning this weekend for a few months now.  It's our towns fall festival, called Riverfest.  This was the first time that Brian and I were both going to be off for the entire weekend, and be able to go together as a family!  We were all pretty excited!

So last night, Friday night, they started the night off with fireworks at 9pm.  Emma started talking about the fireworks the second she got out of school.  About 6pm it started to rain.  And rain some more.  And rain a little more.  To the point at 9pm it was pouring.  Emma was beyond upset about it.  We told her they don't set off fireworks in the rain, and finally got her calmed down.  (After bribing her with a trip to Dairy Queen) Haha  Wellllll....we were sitting in the living room and at about 9:05 what did we hear?  Big booms.  Yeah fireworks.  She looked at us and started bawling her head off and said she knew what that sound was.  I felt terrible for her because I knew how much she was looking forward to it.  She never fell asleep until almost 10:30 last night.  Before she fell asleep she said she was going to be very upset if it rained tomorrow (now today) and ruined the parade.

So we woke up at 8am this morning, the parade started at 10am.  It was cloudy and chilly but not raining!  There was hope!  We headed out around 9 so we could get a good parking spot and then walk downtown.  Around 9:15, the rain came down.  And rain it did.  Ugghh.  Emma was pretty upset, but at least we had a great parking spot right on Main St where we could watch the parade from the car.  We were really really excited to see the parade this year.  Anyone ever heard of the band/duo Karmin?  They sing the pop song Brokenhearted?  If not check them out on Youtube.  The female half of the duo Amy Heidemann is on the cover of Rolling Stone this month for being named the "Women who Rock 2012".  Anyway...the male half of the duo, Nick Noonan, went to high school with my hubby!  The came home for Riverfest and were the grand marshalls for the parade!  And we did get to see them!!!  Emma was pretty excited because she hears them on the radio all the time =)  I didn't bring my camera, because I didn't want it to get wet, so the only 2 photos I took were from my phone.  So after this long blabbering post, enjoy the 2 photos! haha

Amy is pretty famous for this hairstyle of hers!  It's definately different.
It was kinda cool though because our Old Town High School cheerleaders were in the parade and they all had their hair done exactly like Amy's!

Even though it rained, she still had a smile on her face.  We weren't even able to go to the park after the parade where all the festivities were being held because of the darn rain.  I came down with a cold on Thursday night, and standing outside this morning for over an hour in the cold rain didn't help it at all.  Tomorrow we are suppose to go apple picking....but the forecast is calling for...yeah you guessed it...RAIN!  So it looks like we'll be hanging out at home.  I hope everyone enjoys the rest of their weekends, and stays dry!! =)
