Weekend Recap!

This past weekend was nothing but awesome!  Brian and I were both off from work =)  I think i'm really going to be sad to see summer end.  Not at all ready for another long winter here in Maine!

So Saturday started with Brian and I both being able to sleep in until 11:00 am!  We both worked the night before and my mother in law kept Emma so we could get caught up on some sleep =)  A little later on my parents came down for a bit.  We hit up the Farmers Market for some goodies, and then went to lunch.  Emma really needed a new lifejacket for Sunday and we couldn't find one anywhere.  We ended up at Dicks Sportgoods and finding one for $27.00.  I really didn't want to spend that much on one, but she needed it.  And has anyone tried the Starbucks Refresher?  It's new to our Starbucks and they are amazing!  I had to grab one from Starbucks while we were at Target! =)

Saturday evening I heard something in our fireplace.  Well Brian checked it out with a flashlight and didn't find anything.  But I was positive that there was something in there!  Saturday evening Emma and my niece Hannah ran through the sprinkler and then our town had fireworks that night.  They were awesome too.  (And yes, I didn't bring my darn camera!) 

So now onto Sunday morning.  Remember the noise I heard in my fireplace?  Well Brian heard it and it was really loud.  So he called his father and almost 2 hours later they discovered a bird in there.  They finally got it out and let it go outside and it flew away!  Thankfully it was ok!

Sunday afternoon we headed to one of my co-workers houses, she lives on a lake.  A bunch of us went up there for the day to swim, boat and go tubing!!

 

I chose not to go tubing, and this is why!! hahah

And there goes Brian! haha

And there is Brian swimming back to the boat!  They had a blast tubing!  The kids also wanted to get on the tube, so they pulled them around the lake super duper slow! =)

After swimming and tubing we had an awesome BBQ!  Chicken, Hot dogs, and hamburgers.  With all kinds of yummy salads.  And the deserts were awesome!  Whoopie pies, Dirt Cake, Scotcheroos and all kinds of cookies! 

Isn't she just the cutest thing!!!

And to end the night we went for an early evening boat ride!  Emma loved it!  We had such an awesome time with great friends!

Friday {Phone Pictures}

It's Friday!!!  And it's actually my Friday at work as well.  I have the weekend off with the hubby and Emma =)  We've had a busy week here.  School starts up in just about a month here.  On Tuesday we took Emma school shopping.  We decided to hit up the outlet malls in southern Maine.  Freeport and Portland.  Freeport is about an hour and half from us, and then Porland is about 30 mins south of Freeport.  I pcaked Emma up so she wouldn't be bored in the car.  DVD player, Her DSi, pillowpet, and blanket.  Well, I guess Emma decided she was just going to be in a cranky mood all day.  Oh my word.  She is now at the age where she likes to pick out her own clothes.  And sometimes our opinions don't always match up!  haha  But we still had a good time.  And I got some super good deals at Carters & Osh Kosh! =)  We also hit up LL Bean while we were there for a new backpack.  She picked out a cute pink polka dot backpack with her name on it =) 

 

You have to excuse my poor poor cellphone picture quality.  These photos are horrible, but I forgot my camera that day.

We had lunch at the Cracker Barrel!  We so love that place, and it was really yummy! =)

Emma and I went out for a walk the other night, and she wanted to drive her car.  I thought for sure the battery was going to die, but it didn't!  She made it! 

 

 Don't you love our tree in our front yard that is being pulled up by string!  lol  It was starting to get top heavy, so we had to do something to it so that it wouldn't fall over! haha

I have to work today =(  And it's super beautiful out. 

 

 90 degrees out.  It seems like I always have to work on these beautiful days.  

So i've been addicted to making my own iced coffee lately!  And it's pretty darn good!  A days isn't complete without one =)

 

I've been buying the brew over ice Keurig k-cups and adding a flavored creamer.  Super good!!

I've also been obsessed with painting my nails this summer!!  Although I have been choosing the same colors over and over.  Today I decided to change it up a tad. 

 

Purple polish, with sparkles!  lol  I know, probably something my 5 year old would wear, but definitely something different for me! =)  

So that's it for today.  I wish I had some better photos to share, but i've been slacking lately at bringing my camera along with me.  We have a fun weekend ahead of us, and I will definitely be taking lots of photos! =)

Love sweet tea!  I'm also currently obsessed with making my own iced coffee.  Do you know how expensive it can be to buy an iced coffee everyday?  It adds up quickly.  So i'm trying to the whole making it myself thing =)

Pretty much obsessed with the Olympics right now.  Especially the Gymnastics & Swimming!!!  My 5 year old has had some super late nights watching the girls gymnastics!  She is loving it! =)

For someone to come to my house and be a maid for a day =)  Wouldn't that be nice! =)

People who have nothing good to say about anyone or anything.  Super pet peeve of mine!  My theory, if you don't have anything nice to say, don't say it at all.

We're counting down the days to our Disney World trip!!!  127 days and counting! =)

New Car =)

I FINALLY got my new car!!  We have been searching for the right one since probably February.  I pretty much looked at everything.  Deep down I knew that I wanted a Ford Edge, but I was having a really hard time finding one in my price range.  Well low and be hold I found one that was a program car.  15,000 miles on it and in perfect condition =)  So Thursday We spent pretty much all afternoon at a car dealership about an hour from us, getting all the paperwork signed and in order and then it was all mine =)  I have had a few cars, and by far this is my most favorite one yet!  I love just about everything about it!

I have to laugh at the above photo.  For some reason this picture makes the car look all squished down and funny looking! haha

Emma really likes the back seat, lots of room =)

So i've been pretty psyched the last couple of days!  Now I think that we need to take a day trip somewhere soon in it!  =)

This morning Emma and I made a trip to the Farmers Market.  I love this time of the year when they have all their fresh veggies!  But what i'm loving the most is a lady there that sells homemade bread.  I've talked about it before on here, but she makes the best garlic and dill bread ever.  So we bought 2 small loaves of it.  =) 

I have also started to realize that my love of Iced Coffee is getting quite expensive.  So now i'm making my own in my keurig!  So much cheaper, and we have a keurig at work, so I can make one in the evening at work too.  Gosh i'm addicted to my iced coffee.  Love it!!!
