Florida {Day 7}

Happy Monday friends!  This is the first hello Monday I have participated in, in what seems like a really long time! So if you have a post up, be sure to linkup with myself, Heather and Lindsay!

Florida {Days 5-6}

I'm recapping another couple of days of our Disney vacation!  If you missed my last post, Days 1-4, you can find it HERE.  These are super picture heavy!!

Day 5 we headed to our first day of parks!  We chose Epcot as our first park.  We LOVE Epcot!  We also chose not to go to the parks first thing in the morning.  They are all open fairly late, so we let the girls sleep in and get moving at their own pace, and then in the afternoon we headed out.  We were all excited!

The first thing we did, is bought Alyx and autograph book for the Characters.  She was super excited to meet them all =)

If you've ever been to Epcot, then you know they have "Club Cool" where you can try different Coca-Cola flavors from all over the world.  Alyx didn't care for many of them! haha =)

We had a fast pass for the Character Spot, and Alyx was very excited to finally meet Mickey!!

During our time there it was the Epcot Flower & Garden festival.  The flowers were absolutely beautiful.

We rode a ton of rides, Nemo was the favorite for Alyx.  We also loved checking out all the fish after the ride.

We purchased the re-fillable popcorn bucket while we were there.  That way we could take it with us to each park and re-fill whenever we wanted/needed to.

One of our favorite spots in Epcot is France.  They have the BEST deserts ever.

While we were walking around we spotted Snow White, so we quickly got in line.  Just as we got up the closed the line, so we were lucky we got there just in time!

Daisy was a favorite of Alyx's too =)

And before we left for the day, we purchased Disney ear headbands.  You guys, I couldn't believe how much these darn things were!  When the lady rang them up and it came to almost $70.00 for two I about passed out.  My reaction clearly was normal though because she just laughed.

That was it for our first day at Epcot =)

When we purchased our Disney tickets at the resort we stayed at, they were offering a buy a 4 day park ticket, and get a free bonus day at a Disney waterpark.  Brian hates waterparks.  But somehow I convinced him that we would have SO much fun!!  I also knew that Alyx really wouldn't enjoy it.  She likes the water, but to a point.  So we decided to take just Emma and Alyx stayed back at the resort with my parents.

We chose Blizzard Beach.

The lazy river was my favorite!!!!  I could have sat in a tub and gone round and round all day long.

Emma and Brian did some waterslides, and guess who ended up loving the waterpark?!?  Brian!!!

We would definitely go back!  Maybe next time we will try Typhoon Lagoon!

That evening we went out for dinner and drinks.

And then we headed over to the town, Celebration.  Celebration is the picture perfect town.
It's gorgeous.  If I could live anywhere...it just might be Celebration.

The girls had ice cream and then we headed to Krispy Kreme to get doughnuts for the next days breakfast =)

As soon as we got back to the resort, the first question the girls asked was to go swimming.

Why not!  We were on vacation =)

So that concludes days 5 & 6!  I will be back on Monday with more =)

Happy Friday!

Florida {Days 1-4}

Well hello!  Long time no see!  I have been MIA from here for about 2 months.  The last couple of months have been crazy busy.  I left my job and have started a new one. I was at my new job for just a couple of days and then we left for Florida.  There is probably SO much I could recap on, but for now I am going to focus on our trip to Disney!  You guys, we had the BEST time!  We were gone for two weeks, so my recap isn't going to be done in one post, because that would just be ridiculously long.  I also won't do a single post for each day...because again that would just take forever to do.  I'll do a few days at a time.  And if you get bored with it, well...then I guess too bad! ha!
So here we go!  I'll warn you now...these are picture heavy posts!

We left on Friday April 12th.  We left our house shortly after 8:00 am.  We decided to drive rather than fly.  It's quite a drive from Maine to Florida.  We have done this drive two other times, and honestly it's not too bad.  The girls are both great car riders.

My parents also went with us.  They drove my car, and we drove my moms car.  There is much more room in my moms vehicle, so she offered it to us.

Driving through Hartford, CT.

The first day we drove from Maine to Pennsylvania.  That was about 10 hours in the car.  We stopped for the night in Harrisburg, PA.  We were back on the road Saturday morning a little after 7:00 am.

 The girls traveled SO good.  Emma worked on homework and read a book and Alyx watched some movies we downloaded and colored.

 When we got to Virginia is when the when we noticed a huge difference in the weather!  It was SO warm and the trees had beautiful flowers on them.  Such a big difference from the snow and yucky weather we left in Maine.

 By the time we got to South Carolina, we were all ready to call it a day.  We found a hotel and a Cracker Barrel and had dinner.  The next morning we were on the road by 8:00 am, and we were off to Florida finally!!

Can you see how excited Alyx was!!!

Florida!  We finally made it!!

We checked into our resort.  Since it was Spring break for New England and Easter was the following week, the resort exchanges were slim to pick from.  We stayed at Mystic Dunes.  It was really nice, but we all came to the conclusion that we much prefer the Marriott Resorts.  Our second week we stayed at a Marriott property.

We got settled in, grabbed dinner, went to the BUSIEST Wal-Mart I have ever seen in my entire life, and then the girls finally were able to get in the pool!

Monday we took it easy.  When we plan our Disney vacations, we don't buy our tickets in advance, or pick out our fast passes like a lot of people do.  We take each day, day by day.  We pretty much decide each morning what our plans are for that day. That way, if the girls are exhausted one day, and in cranky moods, we can take the day to relax.  And Monday we did just that.  We spent the entire morning in the pool.

It was so nice to wake up, make coffee and enjoy it outside on the patio.

The girls couldn't wait to get outside and into the pool =)

Brian and I enjoyed some beverages poolside.

That evening we went to Disney's Boardwalk.  We love it there.  It's a fun atmosphere and since we hadn't been to a Disney park yet, it got us into the Disney spirit!

We ordered a pizza and sat out on the Boardwalk over looking the water.

Even the pizza boxes in Disney are cute!

After we ate we walked all around the Boardwalk.

We went into the Yacht & Beach Club Resort and the Easter Eggs were amazing.  They were
all made out of Chocolate.

Disney has some seriously talented employees.

One of our favorite things at the Boardwalk is watching the entertainers.  They are so much fun to watch.  They have everything from hula-hoop dancers, to magicians.

Emma was chosen to be a part of this magic show =)

We ended the night with some cotton candy and a milkshake!

There is days 1-4!  Tomorrow I'll be back with more =)
