Friday Favorites

Happy Happy Friday!  I'm so glad the weekend is here.  Brian is finally home from Massachusetts and we are both off this weekend!  Lots of softball is in our plans for Saturday and Sunday will be a day to pretty much just hang out at home and get some yard work done.  Monday I leave for a work conference for 4 days.  I'm looking forward to it, but also I really don't want to leave the girls for that long.  At least we have Facetime!  So let's get on with some Friday Favorites =)
Linking up as always with Narci, Andrea and Erika =)

This little one and I had a lunch date the other day together.  Boy is she a picky picky eater these days!!

But she did enjoy some chips and guac!

Emma was missing Brian pretty bad the other day so when I  picked her up from school we made a trip to Sweet Frog!

Frozen yogurt can make anyone happy, I'm certain of it!! =)

I was able to get away for a few hours the other day and relax by getting a pedicure and manicure.  It was sooo relaxing!!

On Tuesday we were blessed with this...

Snow!  Ugh!  At least it didn't stick, and by the time Emma had softball that evening it had cleared up.

It was super super cold though!

Emma finished up Newspaper club at school this quarter!  She had so much fun interviewing teachers and writing for the paper.

The next day at school they sold the papers in the school lobby for 10 cents =)  Emma bought herself 5 of them! ha =)

We had a softball scrimmage the other night.  Emma and her best friend, Emma, are on opposite teams for the first time ever.

My emma is in the black and grey.  They did really well and were both supportive of each other, which I loved!!  These girls are such great friends =)

And lastly, I hope you all have a fabulous weekend!!!

Also linking up today with Karli and Amy for, oh hey Friday!

Also linking up with Liz, Christina, Natasha and Darci for, 5 on Friday =)

And lastly, linking up with Katie, Tiff, Della and Caitlin for, High Five for Friday =)

Thoughts for Thursday {All about Nails}

Happy Thursday!!  The weekend is almost here =)  We have a busy yet fun weekend ahead of us, now we just need to get through today and tomorrow and it will be here!  Today I am linking up with Annie & Natalie =)

Today I am going to chat all about my most favorite thing ever.  Nail polish! ha!  I know I know.  If you aren't a fan of nail polish than you can just skip over this post completely ;)
Yesterday I went and had a pedicure and manicure, it had been probably 3-4 years since my last one and it was amazing!

It was so nice to sit and relax for a couple of hours with some Starbucks and not hear "mommy, mumma, mooommm!" LOL  I love my girls more than anything, but some me time was needed.  I would love to be able to have manicures and pedicures on a regular basis, but it's just not something that is going to happen.  So instead I do them at home.  I have found if you buy good polish's and a good top coat your polish can last more than week without chipping.   I have always sworn by the Sally Hansen gel top coat.  I like it a lot.  The only downside is it is very thick, and it takes a bit for it to dry.

{you can find it HERE}

Justine who blogs at Full Hands Full Heart recommended this Seche top coat.  I finally broke down and bought it and guess what, I LOVE it more than the Sally Hansen!

{you can find it HERE

I definitely recommend both, but I have to say Seche has pretty much won me over.

Now for nail polish, I always used to be a huge fan of the Sally Hansen Insta-Dry.  I love how fast it dried, but it never stayed on longer than a day or two.  And then I met OPI and Essie.  Paired with a good top coat it lasts longer than a week.   As I have mentioned before, I refuse to pay full price for OPI and Essie.  They used to be $9.00 a bottle and I've noticed it's gone up to over $10.00 a bottle now.  Crazy!  Well, Ulta has an *amazing* clearance section and you can always find high end nail polishes there!

You may have to pick through everything, but it's worth it!!  I have also found that sometimes they are marked for maybe $4.99, but when you get to the register they ring up for $1.99.  Score!

The other day I went into Ulta and got these 7 bottles of OPI and China Glaze.

All 7 of these bottles came to $10.27!

There is nothing wrong with any of these polishes, maybe they are just colors that weren't selling that great?  I'm not sure, but I always find some that I like.  So be sure to check our your local Ulta if you are in the need or want new nail polishes!
I promise after this post I'll lay off the nail polish stuff for a while (maybe) ha!!
Have a great Thursday!

Also linking up today with Michelle =)

What's Up Wednesday

Happy Wednesday!!  I have the entire morning/afternoon to myself today!  Brian is still out of state, Emma is at school, and Alyx is at daycare and I am off of work today =)  Not much planned bit a little relaxing =)

Linking up today with Mel, Sheaffer, and Shay today!

What we're eating this week...

Well...I'm not really sure.  Pizza tonight before Emma's softball game and the rest of the week is up in the air.  We pretty much have softball every single evening this week.  So I honestly have nothing planned for dinners yet this week at all. Ha!
What I'm reminiscing about...

Yesterday was exactly one year ago today that my grandmother left us here and went to heaven.  I can't even begin to tell you how much I miss her.

I wish my girls could have known her better.  She was the sweetest lady.  And the most amazing Swedish cook ever!!  I would give anything for her swedish meatballs now!

What we've been up to...

Softball season has officially begun!  Emma has a scrimmage tonight and then the first game is this weekend.

Last night at Practice is was C-O-L-D.  38 degrees cold.  It took a good hour after for my hands to warm up.  Emma was chosen to play on the Old Town Subway Team this year.  She was definately excited to be chosen for a Restaurant team rather than a gas station team! haha She's too funny!

What I'm dreading...

Honestly I am not dreading anything.  Which is good!!

What I'm working on...

I'm really not working on anything right now, but I have been keeping my eye open for an old dresser.  I want to find one and chalk paint it and make it into a TV stand for our living room.  I am thinking of ideas like this.

I am hoping to find one now that Yard Sale season is almost here!!

What I'm excited about...

This!!

It's never too early to countdown to Disney!  Yeah, we are huge Disney lovers here =)

What I'm watching/reading...

I don't have a single book going right now.  And of course i'm watching all my normal favorite shows. All things Chicago!  Chicago PD/Fire/Med. I'm obsessed with all of them!

And of course we are also watching a lot of our favorite baseball team!

We are hoping for a good season!!!

What I'm listening to...

In my car my radio is always always on The Highway

I love me some Sirus XM!!

What I'm doing this weekend...

Softball, Softball, Softball! ha!  Emma's games are this weekend and Brian is playing in a Blue on Blue Softball tournament.  It's a group of local police officers that are playing against our UMaine Hockey team.  It's sure to be a good time!

What I'm looking forward to next month...

Warmer weather and it being almost Summer!!  WooHoo!! haha

Have a great Wednesday everyone!!!
