Wednesday.

Happy Wednesday my friends!  I'm back to work today after having 2 days off.  Alyx was sick for a couple of days, but seemed to be a lot better last night.  Thankfully!

This little girl is such a ham!  I bought this Matilda Jane skirt for her when she was just a few months old.  I've been hoarding it waiting for it to fit her, and it finally does!  And last week someone was selling the MJ tank to match, and I couldn't pass it up!  My favorite outfit ever on her by far =)

So I've been doing a lot of canning at home lately.  Canning pickles!  I tried my hand at watermelon pickles yesterday and I can't wait to try them.

Can't wait to try them!

So this is how Alyx had been for a couple of days.  Laying on the couch with her Elmo pillow and her blankie and her paci.  She's so funny because she refers to her paci as her "Potter".  Not sure where that came from, but it's cute =)

My absolute favorite part of the day is first thing in the morning.  Before the girls wake up.  I find that i'm usually awake now before either of them wake up, and I love it.  It's kind of like a little "me" time.  Coffee, iPad & tv.

Yesterday all of us took a ride out to the lake.  We're wishful thinking right now about buying a camp of our own.  It's not in the cards right now, but hopefully someday.

I told Brian I can picture our camp right here.  Ha!  Someday ;)

The weekend is coming!  Happy Wednesday!! =)

Monday {Weekend Recap}

Monday.  It's not such a bad Monday today only because i'm off from work after working the weekend =)

Our weekend really wasn't filled with lots of fun and excitement, since Brian and I were both working.  Friday when I got out of work, I got home and found that Emma had made us an entire dinner by herself =)

She made meatloaf and mashed potatoes.  I think she is going to be a good cook when she is older!

It was delish!

One of Alyx's favorite things to do is play up on Emma's bed.  If her toys were up there she could stay there all day I think!

Emma's softball team made our local paper this past week.  Emma loves whenever she is in the paper!

My drive to work on Saturday and Sunday morning were beautiful.  I had to pull over at the country club both days to take pictures of the sunrise.

My pepper plant is producing a ton of peppers!

I had a co worker of mine pick me up some pickling cukes at the farmers market when she got out of work yesterday.  She got me 5lbs, so that meant pickles needed to be made!  I decided to do bread & butter pickles.

The bowl that the cut up cukes are in was a wedding gift for Brian and I.  I hardly ever use it because it's just so big, but I was able to use it yesterday and that made me happy =)

The cut up cukes had to soak all night in water and salt.  So this morning I finished them off.

And then I canned them.  I got 7 pints out of the 5lbs of pickles.  I guess that's pretty good!  Later this afternoon I think i'm going to try my hand at some watermelon rind pickles/relish.  We'll see how that goes!!  We are spending the day at home today, Alyx out of the blue came down with a fever last night, and she woke up with one this morning.  She's pretty clingy and a bit whiny, so i'm hoping she feels better soon.

I hope you all have a fab Monday!!

Friday Favorites

Linking up with the some pretty fabulous bloggers today...Andrea, Narci & Erika!  It's Friday Favorites =)

I'm doing things a little different this week.  Rather than tell you about all kinds of favorites from this week, i'm going to recap a daytrip we took this week!

One of the best things about living in Maine is visiting the coastal towns.  I would love to live right on the ocean!
We took a day trip to the Camden area.  We first stopped at had lobster right on the ocean.  It's a
beautiful area, and the food was delish!

Brian chose the twin lobster dinner, and I opted for the easy way out with the lobster roll/sandwich.  Mine was much easier to eat ;)

I've been coming to this certain lobster pound since I was just little.

Tons and tons of uncooked lobster!

Alyx wanted to just jump right into the ocean! HA!

This was our view at lunch.  Not too shabby huh?

After we finished lunch we headed to Camden Hills State Park, to drive up Mt Battie.  It's not a huge mountain by any means, but the views at the top are beautiful.

Poor Alyx isn't hardly in any of our pictures up here because she had literally just fallen asleep.

Just as we were getting ready to head out, Alyx woke up, and she kinda woke up a bit grumpy, hehe.  So we headed for ice cream to cool off from the heat.

This Sweet Frog was HUGE!  Emma kept saying she wished our was as big as this one =)

We really had a great day.  Daytrips are one of our favorite things to do in the summer!

I hope everyone has a great Friday...and Weekend!!
