Happy Monday {a valentine's day recap & dance}

Happy Monday all!  I hope everyone enjoyed their weekend and Valentine's Day of course!!  Thursday night we did up some Valentine's for Emma to bring to school, and Alyx bring to daycare.  

These were simple to make!  I had them printed off on cardstock, wallet size, at Staples.  They do pretty inexpensive printing at Staples.  And then Emma and I cut them out and glued them onto the Sweetheart candy boxes.  Cute and so easy!!

For Alyx we did GoGo squeeze applesauces.  I found these printable tags online, so I had Staples print them off too.  I added some ribbon and a heart with the kids names, and done!  I love these so much better than the little fold in half cheap cards.

And for their card "boxes" we used mailboxes!  I got Emma's for 80% off at Joann Fabrics, and Alyx's I found at the dollar spot at Target.  Then we decorated them with stickers.

And of course we had to get Emma's teacher something too =)

Friday night was the Father/Daughter Valentines Day dance.  Brian wasn't able to bring Emma because he had to work and was not able to get the night off.  Emma was pretty bummed...as was Brian.  But thankfully Brian's dad offered to be Emma's date that night =)  And they had a lot of fun!!  

Everyone was dressed beautifully and they were all ready to dance their hearts out =)

For Valentines Day, Brian bought Emma and Alyx each their little gifts.  He got them each a teddy bear and Emma a box of chocolates.  Emma was so funny last night.  Her box of chocolates were Russell Stovers, and she turned her bear around and said "Mom the back of my bear even says Russell Steven!"  LOL  I think she meant Russell Stover ;)

And Brian got me another Alex & Ani bracelet.  Love these so much!

I love how all these bracelets have a special meaning.  And we all know I love me some Red Sox! =)

It's Friday!!

It's Friday!  And honestly, I'm not so sure why i'm so happy about this...I work all weekend.  And the storm coming our way.  Oh my word.  At this point i'm OVER winter.  Like OVER it.

Yup.  We're in the dark blue area for 15-20" of snow.  More snow.  Just what we need.  Ugh.  Anwayyyyy.

New stroller came yesterday for our Disney trip!!  I didn't want to drag along our huge stroller, and I thought about renting one once we got there.  But with driving, I thought it would be easiest to just bring one with us.  I think i'm going to like this one.  It reclines...perfect for naps at the park, and it has storage underneath and cup holders for us!  Score!

Alyx is loving her blocks that she got for Christmas!  She builds until they fall over =)

After building, she layed down watching Sesame Street...

And then.....

She was out!

She loves her little pull out couch, and loves Sesame Street just as much!!

I love getting pictures from Brian when i'm working.  Alyx woke up right after I left this morning for work.

And she woke up happy!!!

And I guess she wanted to wear a build a bear headband today! =) hehe

Tonight Emma is going to the Father/Daughter Valentines day dance...without Brian =(  He has to work unfortunately, so Brians dad is taking her.  They will have a blast!  I'll be sure to take lots of pictures!!

I'm baaackkk!!

Well Hello there!!  It's been just about 1 month since I last blogged.  And I'll let you know...i've missed it!  We've just been super busy lately.  Every evening I intended on starting a post, but time got away from me and it just didn't happen.  But, i'm back!  And I hope to blog at least a few times a week.  So let's recap the last month! ( and be prepared for a long post and picture heavy post!!!)

Basketball for Emma has ended.  And she had a great season!!  The next to last game they had, she scored 18 points for her team!  She did absolutely amazing!!!!  She definitely learned to love the sport, that's for sure.

We've had a lot of snow days.  And when I say a lot.  I mean a lot.  The amount of snow we have here is absoltuely crazy.  And according the weather for this weekend Saturday into Sunday we are supposed to get a blizzard and close to 2 feet of snow is expected.  Can I just say I am counting down the days until our Florida trip.  64 days.  Just sayin'. =)  But with all the snow, Emma has been able to go out and play in it a lot!

We had the other Emma over to play one day there was no school because of the snow.  It's always more fun to play outside with friends =)

 The only way to warm up after being outside in the cold...Hot Cocoa!!

Gunner has spent a lot of time outside with Emma playing too!  It's funny to watch him run through the snow! 

And while Emma plays outside in the absolute freezing cold...Alyx and I stay inside where it's nice and warm =)

 

The last 2 weeks Brian had training for work and was home every single night for 2 weeks straight.  I cannot even begin to tell you how awesome it was.  It was kind of like a normal life.  Police work involves crazy schedules, and we really enjoyed having him home at night.  And he was able to get outside with Emma one evening for some snow shoeing.  Emma LOVED it!!
