A Fun Sunday =)

We really had one of the best Sundays we have had in a really long time!  We started it off by going to my husbands parents house and having a big breakfast!  We never do breakfasts at each others houses, but we had a lot of fun.  And the food was super yummy.  Eggs, Bacon and home made bread for toast.  yummm!!!

After breakfast we came home got ready and headed to one of my co-workers houses.  She happens to live on a lake (which is awesome) and she invited us up for some ice fishing.  We had sooooo much fun.  A bunch of us from work who work on the same schedule all went.  We were all bundled up.  The guys put ice fish traps right close to the house for the kids, and then they went across the lake to set their traps.  Unfortunately nobody got any fish, but we all had such a blast!  Emma had a lot of fun riding on the snowmobiles, 4-wheelers and being towed behind on the snowmobile.  She didn't wipe the smile off her face all day long.

One of our friends got a new snowmobile and finally we had enough snow that he could ride it!

A family photo of the 3 of us.  Emma posed us just the way she wanted it and then we had someone take the photo!  We had such a great day.  We ended the day by having dinner at my husbands parents house.  I know!  2 meals from them in 1 day.  Love it! =)  I hope everyone enjoyed their weekend!!! =)

New Puppy =)

My hubby and I had talked a lot about getting a dog.  We really wanted Emma to have the experience of having a dog, and we wanted to do it while she is still pretty little.  I kept looking on petfinder.com and I would see little puppies that were soooo adorable, but none of them gave me that warm and fuzzy feeling all over.  So one afternoon while on the internet I decided to check out petfinder again.  I put in our zipcode and searched within 150 miles of our home.  I saw a small photo of a puppy that looked adorable!  His name was Capt. Hook!  I then saw that he was located quite a ways from our house and was at a foster home as he was a rescue puppy from South Carolina.  They said he was a labrador retriever/hound mix.  He looked so darn cute!  I e-mailed the people who had him and they had nothing but good things to say about him! =)  He was completely house broken, even ringing a bell when he needs to go outside.  Loves kids, good with cats.  Snuggly, cuddly, loveable 5 month old puppy.  I was SOLD.  A few days later the rescue shelter sent someone to our house to make sure we were a suitable home for the puppy...and we passed with flying colors =)  I then immediately got into my car and drove about 100 miles to pick up this puppy!  The minute I saw him I fell in Love with him.  He is the perfect match to our family.  He is so cuddly and loveable.  Although we did change his name.  He is no longer called Capt. Hook.  Emma named him Gunner.  They say he is a hound mix, but I see a lot of sheppard in him.  We sure do love him, and I think he's pretty fond of his new family and home as well! =)

*Fresh out of the bath* =)

And I hope everyone had a very Happy New Year!!!!!  We spent the evening at my inlaws eating some super yummy food and enjoying the company.  We then rang in the New Year at home.  Here is how Miss Emma and her new best friend Gunner rang in the new year.....

Christmas!

I have been a terrible blogger!  We have been so busy lately with the holidays and work that I haven't had time to sit and write an actual blog in forever!  We had such a great Christmas.  This was probably one of th best we have had yet!  Emma is at the perfect age and we did such fun things this year!

Lets start out with our trip to southern Maine, Portland.  We took Emma on the Polar Express train ride.  She had sooo much fun!!  Our first stop though was supper at the Cracker Barrel!  This was exciting, because our state *just* got a Cracker Barrel!

Emma got this cool mason jar with a firefly in it! =)

Next stop was the Polar Express!  Emma was so excited about this.  She wore her Pj's and all.

Emma and Pop looking out the window of the train =)

The girls passing out Hot Chocolate and cookies for the kids!

Here comes Santa on the train!

Holding her Bell & Golden ticket that she got =)

Waving goodbye to Santa!

On our way home we stopped in Freeport at LL Bean.  It was so beautifully decorated inside and out.  We stopped and had our picture taken in a giant toboggan!

Sooo.  Now onto Christmas!!!!  We seriously had one of the best Christmas's yet.  Emma is at the perfect age for it!  I had heard of the Elf on the Shelf and thought that I was probably the only one in the world who wasn't doing it.  Well, my mother went shopping one day and picked one up for Emma.  Our Elf who Emma named Patch, was quite mischevious!  He seemed to always be getting into things....

Patch is now back at the Norh Pole, but we will be awaiting his arrival again after Thanksgiving this coming year! =)

Every year we spend Christmas Eve at my hubbys grandmothers house.  All of the grandkids and great grandkids get together and celebrate Christmas together.  We always have lots of fun.  Emma gets to see a lot of her cousins who she usually only sees at least once a year.  And Santa himself always makes an apperance! =)

This was at our house before we left.  I *LOVE* the outfit that Emma is wearing.  Courtesty of TheMommaFish, you can find her on Etsy.  She is amazing and has done several outfits for us!

After we got home that night, there was a little surprise for Emma in her room.  Mrs Clause brought Emma and her American Girl Doll matching pajamas!  She was sooooo excited about them!  Mrs Clause even dressed her American Girl doll in them for her! =)

The next morning was Christmas morning!!  I absolutely love Christmas morning.  We have a tradition in our house of me making homemade monkey bread for breakfast.  It is soooo yummy.

I hope everyone enjoyed their Holiday Season!  I know that our family sure did!!!  Happy Holidays!!!!! =)

Meeting Santa!

Emma and I met my mom at the mall one afternoon after school to go and see Santa!  She was really excited this year about seeing him.  I thought she may be a little nervous, but not at all.

I thought for sure we would have to wait in line to meet him.  And to my surpise there was no line at all!  We walked right up to him and Emma got right up on his lap.  I love this photo =)

Merry Christmas!!!!!!!!!!!!! =)

Finally feeling better!!!!!

So yes!  I'm finally feeling better!!!!!!  It's a miracle!!!  But....now my hubby has some yucky crud going on =(  I went with him to the doctor the other day and he has uvulitis.  Which is swelling of that little hanging thing in the back of your throat.  He's on some meds and feeling better himself though!  YAY!!!  I haven't even blogged yet about our Thanksgiving.  We had a really nice Thanksgiving.  We spent it with my husbands side of the family.  Lots of yummy food and good company.  I'll post pictures soon!!

So I'm wanting to order some personalized Christmas shirts for my daughter.  Does anyone have any favorite Etsy sites or any other sites they order their personalized clothing from??  I'd love to hear about them!!  =)

Pneumonia...shna-monia!

So as my last post stated, the doctor informed me that have a viral bronchitis.  Put me on some meds and sent me on my way home.  So tonight I was heading back from the store.  We pulled into Dairy Queen {so I could please the cranky 5 year old in the backseat} and my phone rings.  It's my Doctor.  What could she want?  She first asks how i'm feeling.  Told her i'm feeling a little better since starting the meds but not 100%.  She tells me that after reviewing my chest x-rays with the radiologist they determined that I do in fact have Pneumonia.  Yup that's right, Pneumonia.  So what does this mean I ask her.  She tells me to stay on the meds i'm on, drink lots of fluids and get lots of rest.  I'm doing all of the above, except sleeping!  I'm not even tired.  I haven't had real sleep since last Thursday.  Hence why i'm up at 3:49 in the morning blogging!  Anywayyy...so that's that.  Pneumonia it is.  I'm going to do my best to get rid of this stuff because it sure isn't fun, if any of you have had it...then you know what i'm talkin' bout!  Now i'm going to head back to bed and hopefully fall asleep =)

Long Time, No Blog!

Wow, it's been a while since I last blogged!  The yucky sickness has hit our household, and in full force.  I first got it at the beginning of October, and it has yet to go away.  This last week has been the hardest.  In a month in a half I have been to the doctor a total of 5 times.  Yes 5 times.  I *finally* saw a real doctor today who was completely frustrated that none of the pa's had run any tests on me.  So after being there for less then 5 minutes she ordered a chest x-ray, breathing test and some blood tests.  I was really worried that I had pnemonia.  It's been bad.  Bad to the point where I have coughed so much that my voice was going, I couldn't keep any food or liquids down due to the coughing and I wasn't getting any sleep.  Sooo after the tests, she told me I didn't have pnemonia!  Pheww!  She said I have a really bad case of a viral bronchitis.  She sent me home with 2 different meds and an inhaler.  And i'm already starting to feel a little bit better!!!  Emma has quite a cough too, and I think i'm going to end up taking her into the doctor as well.  She hasn't had this nearly as long as me, but I don't want it to get to the point to where I got.  Brian also has had a tad of this stuff too.  Sooo not fun!

But anyway!  Before we get to Thanksgiving, I had better share my Halloween photos!  We had such a blast Trick-or-Treating this year!  We head over to my husbands Uncles neighborhood for trick-or-treating.  There are so many kids, and almost everyone there decorates their houses.  It's very cool.  Emma was sooooo cute running up to the houses, she was so excited.  I have never in my life seen someone get as much candy as she did!  She made out well. {and so did brian and I} hehe.  But here are some photos of our little "Jessie" I mean Emma! =)

And there is all the candy!!!

And before I forget I have to share these photos!  Emma was a "model" for a local photographer.  I had never met her before but I think she did an amazing job!  I cannot wait to see the rest of the photos that she took, but for now here is the sneak peak of them!

I'm sooooo excited to see the rest of them!  She is an amazing photographer...and I may be a little biased but she had a pretty darn cute model to work with =)
